Terrible service and overpriced
Was busy when arrived but but as we were having a late lunch it was soon quiet. Service was abysmal. Had to ask at least 4 times for water, for the dessert menu and the bill! Sometimes staff glided by the table totally ignoring me trying to ask for something. In my opinion food was average but extremely over priced. £90 for 2 people for tomatoes on 1 slice of sourdough; small serving of mushroom risotto; ice cream and a glass of wine each
Carluccio's Southampton west quay…
Carluccio's Southampton west quay Marland's shopping centre. have visited here on several occasions, always seated almost to the brim, lucky to get a seat, excellent food, open gallery kitchen with good service.
Bad service
I used to really love this restaurant, but lately the service has gone downhill. When we arrived, it was pretty empty, and one of the staff told us to sit wherever we liked. But as we were heading to a table, another waitress stopped us and said, “This is a restaurant, you can’t just walk in and sit where you like” – which came across as really rude. We then waited around 20 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, while the table next to us got served straight away. On the bright side, the food was as tasty as always.

Wonderful meal at Carluccios 7/7/25 7 pm. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Thank you for making us happy after a terrible experience at the Rose and Crown before we arrived. Thank you to the lovely smiling lady who took us to our table.
We will return
I’d give zero stars if I could
I’d give zero stars if I could - made an online order and Royal Mails proof of delivery was a photo of the postie’s foot. Haven’t received my order and no reply from customer service despite sending several emails.
Appalling experience ordering hampers…
Appalling experience ordering hampers for a birthday. Without telling me they decided not to deliver as some items not available. Only found this out as I phoned to find where it was. Ignored three emails of complaint. No response from them whatsoever.
Bad experience with Carluccios Solihull
I visited the Solihull restaurant for lunch on 21st May 2025. During my visit, the waiter kindly advised me to keep the receipt in order to receive a 50% discount on my next visit. Unfortunately, I misplaced the receipt. When I returned to the Solihull branch three days later and provided proof of payment via my credit card transaction, I was informed that a reprint of the original receipt was not possible.
Despite understanding the need for certain policies, I was disappointed that no alternative solution could be offered, especially as I had proof of purchase. As a result, I am unable to benefit from the advertised discount, which has led me to cancel my planned return visit.
While I appreciate the initial helpfulness of the staff, I believe this experience reflects a lack of flexibility in customer service that impacted my overall impression.

CAMBRIDGE RESTAURANT. WON’T BE BACK!
CAMBRIDGE RESTAURANT. Hadn’t dined there since the Boparan Group took it over. Mr Carluccio would turn in his grave!
Disinterested staff, salt and pepper grinders cracked and broken, tired looking and grubby round the edges! hygiene unacceptable, girl who was laying tables was not holding the cutlery by the handles as should be the case but holding the end which you put into your mouth with her hands which let’s face it we don’t know where they might have been! Horrible, turned my stomach.
Food mediocre.
How sad to see this once lovely restaurant end up in this state.
Cool Carluccio's for Perfect Mother's Day Lunch
Enjoyed superb Mother's Day Lunch, chosen from set menu; three course meal in Leamington Spa. Light, creamy celeriac soup served with generous chunk of quite salty Palencia, sumptuous and silky white tagliatelle with truffles; followed by sweet panecotte with tangerine slivers. Perfect with % gin & tonic and a carafe of iced water. Service perfect. Daughter had delicious lasagne. Tasted each other's.
Cheap tea and no outside dog bowls
Firstly, there is no water for dogs outside the restaurant. You have to ask for it and it does not come in a dog bowl, but a spare container from the kitchen.
Finally, the Chamomile tea isn't a Teapigs, or similar quality with proper buds, but the dregs from the tea chest from a bulk pack from Taylors of Harrogate.
I have complained about this place on many occasions since it was taken over, but I cannot express my disappointment enough about how this one great chain has gone down to something not much better than Pizza Express
Went to Bluewater restaurant Saturday
Went to Bluewater restaurant Saturday, had a quick lunch due to visiting only three weeks previously with an offer of 50% off main meals. Unfortunately this time the pizza was cold, but eatdible so no complaint at the time. Being that there was only two of us, was surprised to be hit with a service charge considering there web site said only for large parties. Would no go again, which is a shame as the previous visit was good
Dined at the Carluccios in Sheffield…
Dined at the Carluccios in Sheffield and the service was very poor considering the restaurant only had 4 customers 6 staff members on the restaurant floor. The Food came late, cold and staff were preoccupied with chatting and on their phones instead of dealing with customers. I won’t be returning.
Booked this for my Mum’s birthday
Booked this for my Mum’s birthday. There was 9 of us and everyone food was lovely. The calamari was the nicest I have had. The service was great and very friendly.
Standards of service and Hygiene appalling
I have dined in Carluccio's in my local town until it closed some years ago and on our monthly excursion to Cambridge we always eat there.
We have seen a steady decline in staff and therefore service, although the food quality has always been good.
This week the service was appalling and hygene standard were poor.
We always arrived a few minutes after 2pm as the lunchtime rush is ending and the service is better.
We were greeted by the manageress and we pointed to a table away from the others customers as we recently had a bad experience from covid and prefer to keep our distance when dining.
We pointed to a table that was suitable and she cleared and clean the table and led us to it.
After ten minutes and still given no menus we went to the reception and helped ourselves.
Five minutes later a young man came and took our order.
Whilst we were waiting the manageress came over and laid the table with cutlery, we were appalled that she handles them not from the handle but the front. My wife had seen her previously cuff her nose with the back of her hand.
We asked for tap water to wash them, rather than make a fuss and the lad brought them over holding them with his fingers close to the top.
The food was good as always, but when asking for the bill I told him about three, one metre streaks of mud daubed across the window where we were seated ( I took a photo ) and that it was unpleasant for anyone sitting there. He said I'll get the window cleaner to remove them when he next comes in !!
Does health and safety stop him from picking up hot water and a cloth and cleaning it !
I went to the counter to pay and I got notes out to pay as I prefer not to use credit cards. I was told we don't accept cash. I said why is a notice not put on the door or in bold letters on the menu. By luck I had my card, only because it is needed for the car park.
I was asked by the manageress when we were leaving if we enjoyed our meal and we said we would not becoming back again, her reply was I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, I'll take something off the bill next time.
Do you think I will be going back ?
Dear old Carluccio would turn in his grave if he knew the standards his beloved restaurant chain has fallen to.
I notice on the website there is no way of contacting your company. Wouldn't you want to know and thank customers for advising them of their bad experiences and put them right. It goes hand in hand with the staff and I notice on Trustpilot the awful reviews are never replied too by you.
I doubt you will be around in a couple of years.
A perfect choice
Had a brilliant evening at the new refurbished Carluccios at St Pancras. Lovely atmosphere and great food. But most importantly a very friendly and welcoming lovely waitress called Sally was incredibly helpful and ensured we had a lovely table and a wonderful evening with great service! Thank you!
Absolutely dreadful service and…
Absolutely dreadful service and attitude of staff at the Leamington cafe today! Dirty cup and saucer treated like doing us a favour to change it! Hot drinks came 20 minutes after cold toast! Never to be frequented again!
Service was not good at all
Service was terrible. First time there. Ordered a glass of wine with lemonade. Waiter took ages to bring this over, chatting at the bar! Asked for the bill, after 10 minutes went to pay on the way out! Not even busy. Shocking customer service.
Carluccios Southampton. Very poor
Carluccios Southampton. Poor service, poor food, cold location, inadequate response to complaints both verbal and by email. Unfortunately another chain that has lost its way, we won’t be back. Avoid
