Beware of quoted sizes

Used this company twice. First time great. Second time very poor.
Ordered two cast iron radiators in September. Selected 460mm x 1395mm & 460mm x 998mm from the options.
On coming to fit we realised that the radiators were actually 1495mm (24 sections) & 1069mm (17 sections). The sizes we purchased are no longer available on the site.
When I queried the error I was told that there is always discrepancies in cast iron sizes and there had been no error on their part.
And that I should have basically kept the room as a building site and not undertaken any plumbing until the radiator sizes had been confirmed.
It’s clear a 100mm discrepancy is not normal, they’ve just displayed the sizes incorrectly and have now rectified it.
They suggested I should remove sections myself to make them work. Unfortunately each section is around 60mm so the larger rad will never be correct and I will need an extension kit to make it fit.

Fantastic!

We ordered a radiator and valves from this company. The customer service was excellent, kept us up to date on the manufacture and dispatch of our items. When one of the valve’s received was cracked, they sent a new one via next day DPD, and were extremely apologetic.
Very impressive! The radiator is also fantastic!

Took my money and forgot about my order.

I ordered one radiator in Oct-2020 ahead of a refurbishment to my hallway. It is now March-2021 and I have still not received my order and have been unable to complete the work because of this. I have been informed that I should receive the order in April-2021 but I am not holding out much hope as have previously been told that it would be ready Feb and Mar.
The company are responsive to my emails. However, I am only contacted in response to my queries and have received very little in the way of updates without chasing them.
I have loads more rooms to renovate but think I'll get the rads elsewhere next time.

The companies trust pilot reply us indicative of how they operate as a business:
Take ages to reply.
Refuse to accept responsibility.

There are a few obvious competitors available in the UK. I have since used one of them and received 3 similar radiators (same manufacturer and colour) within a month of purchase.

Lastly, I find it sickening that COVID has been somehow used as an excuse for poor customer service.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you waited a while for your radiator. But I would like to explain that unfortunately the radiator issues have been with the supply of the sections to make up the radiators and getting the items actually into the UK ports. We were given dates from the manufacturer which we passed on to you, and then the ports were turning away all of the ships waiting to dock. For many weeks all that was able to dock was COVID related items and obviously that was a priority. Regarding not contacting you with updates, unfortunately at that time there was nothing to update you with. The manufacturer and ourselves were very frustrated because we had no idea of firm dates, so we were unable to feed anything back. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused you Kind Regards After Sales

Hi whole heartedly advise you look on their website and then avoid it all their other sites as well.
They are a third party and just wash hands of all problems, they buy from another supplier and some one else delivers. Wouldn't touch with a very long barge pole bought through another company and delivered by another delivery service

Thank you for your feedback. Just to explain we sell various branded radiators some of them are in house products, and some of the radiators are named brands that ultimately will come direct from the manufacturer. We therefore have an agreement with the manufacturer that they would deliver direct to our customers so that you have a swift delivery experience and this also encourages less issues or damage in transit. If a problem with a radiator does occur you do have the warranty that is specified on our website, and stated in our terms and conditions when ordering. We deal with the manufacturer to resolve issues on your behalf. I am very sorry that your experience was not what you had anticipated, but we are very transparent with our warranty and our terms and conditions. Once again that you for your feedback and I hope this helps you understand that we do everything we can for our customers best interest Kind regards After Sales

Faulty product and the worst customer experience I've ever had

Update*

After the manager read this review they went on to finally try to make some amends. After much back & forth, promising a replacement and also asking me for plumbing quotes to get someone to swap out the faulty rad, everything went quiet and no more replies. That was over 4 months ago. What an utter joke. Yet you reply to this with a boilerplate response ignorant of everything I told her and we discussed. E.g it never arrived on a pallet. It was just on its side in the back of a lorry.

It’s hard to know where to start with my experience with this company. Unfortunately, it’s just another terrible review like the ones below.

Ever since the first dealing with them it’s been a bad experience. Initially we were interested in the next day delivery stock as we were renovating a room, and needed something fast to fit in with the building work and carpet-fitting schedule. We saw the website had plenty of stock and called to 100% ensure that what we needed was there and we could get next day. We were told the counter on the website was ‘live’, stating 20+ in stock, so go ahead! Brilliant, we did.

Of course, after making the order and paying, we were told what we wanted wasn’t in stock after all. No worries, it’d only be a few more days. So we flexed the building schedule and shuffled the plumber accordingly. Then a few days later, actually, it was going to take a substantial amount of time to get one of the two items we ordered to us on time, but not to worry, they had a larger model in stock and the room could take it so we took that instead. We couldn't change the schedule again so we just had to go with it.

Fast-forward to delivery, it wasn’t next day at all. We were later told a designated day but of course it didn’t arrive, but came the morning after. (Luckily I'd second guessed this would happen and made sure the plumber wan't around). Still, keeping our patience we didn’t complain or anything. The courier arrived, one single guy with two massive cast iron rads (he didn’t even know that’s what he was delivering) and couldn’t lift them himself as they weigh a tonne obviously. So I had to drive back from work to help him lift them out of the lorry into my house. Why there wasn’t 2 guys delivering, I have no idea. These things are insanely heavy.

Anyway, we had them in the house, great! That is until we plumbed them in (which as you probably know, isn't cheap - Plumber + an apprentice needed because of the weight). One was fine, the other, bigger one leaked. From the cast as well, not the joints, so essentially it was a bigger, fundamental problem. After constantly juggling a works schedule, booking plumbers in then moving them around due to the bad delivery and stock information, we now had a plumbed in leaking radiator.

Immediately let them know, sent pics and they said it was the manufacturers issue, of course. Passed the buck. Nothing to do with them. One week goes by and I hear nothing so I chase, only to find out the inept customer service rep (won’t name her publicly) actually didn’t send the details due to a mix up on her side. Saying she didn't know my email was concerning our order as it was from my email address, not my wife's (even though the subject has the order number in it etc)... madness. But she would do it right away.

Anyway, weeks went by, me chasing asking what’s happening with the replacement, finding it impossible to get the answers I need and basically passed around everywhere. In the end, after many calls and emails they agreed to send a replacement. Bear in mind I have to get a plumber to unplumb this one and fit the new one which, in the end is basically 3 call outs, about 3 times the cost of the faulty rad.

I was told best case scenario we’d receive the replacement the week before Xmas as they had none in stock and the absolute worse-case scenario it would arrive with us the week of the 4th Jan. Of course, I still haven’t heard a peep, no update, no message, no confirmation, nothing.

I’ve given these people the benefit of the doubt time after time but they’ve continued to have the most appalling customer service, that I just have to share.

6-8 weeks down the line, I have a leaking, sub-standard product, no replacement, no update and I’ve completely lost the will to deal with them.

I’m in the mindset now that I’ll just take the hit, be £500 out of pocket (excluding the fitting costs) and just not have to waste one more minute chasing these people.

The rep I dealt with just had a bad attitude, couldn’t care less, just tried to get me off the phone, wouldn’t let me speak to their manager and just fobbed me off at every opportunity, whenever I did get the chance to hunt her down. I’ve genuinely been incredibly patient and calm with these people up until this point.

I have never experienced such poorly coordinated service or after care with anything I’ve ever bought, seriously.

AVOID - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !

Arranged delivery TOLD to ring for an ETA, tried to deliver almost 3 hours later than ETA despite telling them wouldn't be in. Failed to ring me when they said they had and failed to answer points in emails of complaint. Ending up paying a re-delivery charge for their error. Appalling company to deal with !!

Hi,

Thank you for your review. I can confirm when booking delivery we will; contact to give you the option of picking a convenient delivery date. At this point we do advise this is a kerb side delivery and the delivery slot is between 9Am - 5:30PM with the option to call for an ETA on the day in which we can possibly retrieve from the local depot. These are Estimated Time of Arrival and therefore should only be taken as estimates as this can be effected by mulitple factors. We do pass over your contact details to the driver to ask if they are able and not driving to call 1 hour before hand however this does fall into the drivers hands and not something we are therefore able to guarantee. I am sorry to hear that you needed to raise a complaint and you feel this was not answered adequitly. Unfortuntely if delivery is missed based on the above this will result in a re-delivery charge for the couriers to return on another specifed date. Again, I apologise that you feel this way. Kind Regards, After Sales

Avoid

Spent nearly £900 on 2 radiators and one of them was leaking from the end cap.

Despite advising the company of this as soon as we plumbed them it took over 1 month and numerous emails / calls to ensure we were replied to and offered a near satisfactory resolution. Meaning we couldn’t fit the floor for nearly 1 month because the radiator was leaking!

The initial resolution was they’d send a spare end cap but that they “do not hold any liability for any consequential loss suffered by yourself in relation to any Goods supplied.“

Meaning I was left to cover the costs of the heating engineer coming back to replace the end cap that was provided with a hole in it... Or perhaps I was expected to fit it myself, given I’m not a qualified engineer I decided to give that a miss.

The customer service team honestly couldn’t care less and just kick out the same automatic replies about not holding any liability etc. We finally managed to get them to agree to refund the cost of the engineer coming back.

Really hope we don’t ever have to contact them again as it’s such a painful process - Safe to say we will be buying the radiators for the rest of the house from another supplier.

Totally appreciate things go wrong sometimes but making your customers chase up the way we had to simply to be provided with a working product without any further costs is ridiculous.

Hello Roxanne

Thank you for taking the time to place your review on Trust Pilot.

Your feedback is very important to us, as all reviews are read and passed to our continuous improvement programme team, this is to help us maintain our grade of service & product quality, also to ensure we improve in areas we could be lacking in.

After reading the review, we have held an internal investigation to see what we could have done better relating to your comments.

Reference:- Leaking End Cap

Firstly I would like to apologise for the challenge you experienced, I have investigated your challenge and can see you did contact us to advise your end cap was leaking and we contacted the manufacturer to investigate this the very same day.

We then asked for a further image so we were able to clarify exactly what was causing this leak, which you sent. Once this had been received the manufacturer advised that they would send out a new bush end to resolve this challenge. This response was given in 3 working days.

You then advised you were not happy with this and wanted a replacement radiator which we agreed to as we like to do all we can to help our customers and we advised you we would collect the radiator you had on site and send a replacement.

You then came back to us eight days later and said your plumber will be able to swap the bush end and seal and you wanted to go for this option which we happily sent out for you.

I can see that you did request we paid for the costs and we did initially refuse as we do not cover plumbing costs and this is something that is covered in our terms and conditions, but we did as a gesture of goodwill contribute to this.

I feel your comment “The customer service team honestly couldn’t care less” is unfair & unjust as we pride ourselves on our customer service and feel we worked with you along the way and offered you everything you asked for.

Again, thank you for your feedback & sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience - bought a decorative cast iron radiator for £1,300.
Delivery was ok albeit a day late as i am in Scotland. That's what you are getting ONE star for the rest is ZERO stars. It arrives in 2 x sections which i knew with a joining key. Check the small print when you order as they get you to sign for a bespoke order and you are agreeing that the sealing joints between the radiator sections can sometimes open in transit causing potential leakage. But crucially you are agreeing that all the joins are the responsibility of yourself & the Plumber/Installer.
Mine arrived with a gasket nipped outside causing a leak, my engineer fixed this with a spare seal but then when he commissioned it there was water spraying everywhere from multiple leaks. What should have taken 2 hrs to fit took him almost 7 hrs to tighten and check all 42 seals. One is still leaking and will require it to be dismantled again when the manufacturer sends new seals. They offered a replacement radiator but that would be more costs to remove and re-install as all sections will have to be tightened again.
Their stance is its my fault and they offered a replacement. What they are missing is the additional £350 in labour i have to pay. NO compensation at all was offered. Order from these guys at your peril as they claim everything is pressure tested at factory but then say the sections can come loose in transit. AVOID!!!!!!

Hello Steven

Firstly we are sorry to hear you feel you have had a terrible experience with us and would like the opportunity to respond to your review.

I have looked into the delivery of your order and can confirm this was booked for delivery with yourself for 6th December. As you have explained, this was going to Scotland and did encounter a days delay which we can only apologize for.

As advised during the ordering process a joining key would be required for the radiator you were ordering as this would come in two parts as it is over 1.2 meters it has to be split to fit on a pallet for delivery purposes.

We do send a Bespoke Order Confirmation and ask our customers thoroughly read it and agree to before we put the order in to production as we try to be as transparent as possible with all aspects of ordering Cast Iron Radiators. We also advise that all the joins are the responsibility of yourself & the Plumber/Installer as it is the installer that will be putting the radiator together.

You did report a challenge with a nipped section and leak with images on 16/12/19 which we reported to the manufacturers the same day. We responded to apologize that the radiator had arrived with this challenge and offered a replacement straight away.
You were not happy with this solution so we suggested the manufacturer send replacement gaskets as you already had a joining key on site and you confirmed you would like us to do this, which we did.

We have never implied it is your fault the radiator is leaking and have done our best to get this fixed for you, offering replacements and parts.

You also mention in your review that your installer spent 7 hours trying to fix the challenge rather than the two you expected.
We do feel this was out of our control as the minute you called us and reported the challenge we immediately offered ways to get this resolved.

I have called and left a voicemail as we are keen to discuss this further and also ensure your challenge has now been resolved.

Please do call us on 02393 162168

Kind Regards

Really poor service

Really poor service. Spent nearly £2k on a radiator (had to pay £70 for the key to add the two sections together) and they forgot to send the seals. We didn't realise until the plumber was installing and now have the cost of two plumbers visits and two weeks delay. This was on top of a delay on delivery too. Poor service when you're spending so much. A little extra care and this could have been prevented.

Thank you for contacting us,

I am very sorry to hear that there were two seals missing and this had an effect on your installation, I fully understand how frustrating this is.

I can see that you contacted us to report this on 18/06/19 and we have arranged for the seals to be with you on 19/06/19 between 3:15pm and 4:15pm.

In relation to the joining key this is a refundable amount and as soon as you have finished with it we will issue a full refund.

After speaking with you on the telephone yesterday, I have taken all your feedback on board and passed this to our continuous improvement department to look at how we can improve our service in the future.

Again apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Disappointing customer service

Disappointing customer service - after spending a significant amount of money on multiple radiators (in the thousands of pounds) I was very disappointed by the fact that nearly all of the radiators (having ordered six) were missing parts and leaking. My plumber was able to mostly rectify this - but one radiator needs a replacement part to be supplied by the manufacturers. Cast Iron Radiators 4 U have been slow to respond and unhelpful - taking days to respond and still then with no urgency to fix the problem - when I was purchasing the radiators they were very fast to get back to me but now they have my money they are dragging their feet and even suggested there might a problem with the way they had been fitted, which is obviously not the case. I am very disappointed.

Hello Belinda

Thank you for taking the time to place your review on Trust Pilot.

After reading the review, I have held an internal investigation to see what we could have done better in relation to your comments.

I have tried to cover all points and supply you with a response against each one.

• “After spending a significant amount of money on multiple radiators (in the thousands of pounds) I was very disappointed by the fact that nearly all of the radiators (having ordered six) were missing parts and leaking. My plumber was able to mostly rectify this ”

◦ I have looked at your order and until Wednesday 10th April 2019 we had no correspondence from you reporting any leaks or missing parts. If we had been advised of any challenges we would, of course, have worked with you to get this resolved.

• “One radiator needs a replacement part to be supplied by the manufacturers”. Cast Iron Radiators 4 U have been slow to respond and unhelpful - taking days to respond and still then with no urgency to fix the problem

◦ We received an email from you on 10/04/19 advising one of the radiators had a leak. It was not clear from the image where the leak was coming from so we replied on 10/04/19, the same day, requesting further information. We had to ensure that we were gathering the correct information to enable us to deal with your challenge in the correct way.

◦ We did received a response from you on 10/04/19 at 16:49, unfortunately this did not get picked up until 11/04/19. Within this email you sent further images that made the challenge clear. We fed this information to the manufacturer along with the images on 11/04/19 and we advised you by email what had been done and that we would be in touch as soon as we had a response from the manufacturer.

◦ On the 12th April we had a response from the manufacturer asking us to confirm which radiator was affected, as there were different sizes of radiators on the order. As soon as the size was confirmed this information was passed back to the manufacturer and they advised that a spare part would be painted and sent out to you which is due to be delivered 16th April 2019.

• “when I was purchasing the radiators they were very fast to get back to me but now they have my money they are dragging their feet

◦ We feel this comment is unjust as we responded the same day we received your initial email and have turned the challenge around in two days, keeping you updated along the way. Unfortunately there was not an instant fix to this situation and the part you required has to be painted before it could be dispatched.

• And even suggested there might a problem with the way they had been fitted, which is obviously not the case. I am very disappointed.”

◦ In relation to this comment this is untrue. You advised us within an email that “the plumber said he's tightened it up as much as he can but it still drips so he suspects there's a fault on the seal.” We advised that “this could be from the end cap being tightened to far”

I am keen to speak with you about this challenge and have left two voice mails for you, so that we can discuss this matter further.

Please do call us on 02393 16 21 68

Again, thank you for your feedback & apologies for any inconvenience caused.

terrible customer service personnel bad company

terrible customer service personnel, manager shies away from talking to us on the phone, and we get fobbed off with a sarcastic customer service person called Rhea!! Bad bad company, paid 9000 pounds for radiators, took our money, paid via their website, no issues, all paid up! Then get told by this customer service girl they have to refund the money as a ''security check''??? UK people, UK address, UK phone number BUT because we dont have a landline not possible need to refund and cost us a fortune in the process and THEN we have to pay by BANK TRANSFER! ( as we paid for it while abroad - not everyone lives in a box!!) ''Oh its on our website that you have to do this - YOU NEED TO ADVICE THIS PROMPTLY AT PAYMENT STAGE IF THIS IS THE CASE -
UTTERLY DISGUSTED with this poor company. We will not recommend this company to ANYONE there are better companies with much better staff. We deal with companies all the time due to our business and this is the WORST we have ever dealt with. No doubt they will keep our payment for weeks before refunding it. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER REPLYING.

This is the third rad brought from this company and all I can say is that we are 100% happy with the rad as we were with the other ones.

Beatfiful radiators

Beatfiful radiators, match my existing deco ones which we've renovated. The company supply all the smart chrome fittings, plus l love the stylish, thermostatic valves. A great find for us. Such fast and helpful service.
