Was toooootally disappointed

Was toooootally disappointed! Tips were automatically included in the bill apparently and I had no idea... Steak was just alright. Sweet potatoes burned. But staff was friendly.

Overpriced

Overpriced, overrated, lowest standard service I've ever seen. Can get a better service from a kebab van.

Steaks are very good; everything else over-priced for chain grab

Steaks are very good, and particularly like you can choice from three different weights. Prices for steaks more or less what you'd expect; however, given this is effectively mass-produced chain fare, other things are expensive and over-priced (hence 3* rating). This incs drinks - £4.50 for soft drinks which costs £2.50 - £3.50 in comparable restaurants (recently paid less than Cau for same brand in a top notch London hotel!). Use the annoying tactic - in hope it will get you to spend more on over-inflated drinks - of not giving out jugs of water, even for table of 5, so have to keep asking waiters to fill up the quite small glasses. Branch we visited had friendly and efficient staff (or to give them their correct titles, 'Caugirls' & 'cauboys').
In summary - good place for steak lovers, but keep an eye on what you order as bill can quickly rocket.

Nice but slow

New to Birmingham but had quite a nice meal at this place on short notice. They know how to do a good steak but was a little slow on the service. Quicken up and you're a five starer

Cracking Steak, perfection!

Fancy a Gorgeous Steak dinner, then Cau is the place to go. Seriously, they are cooked to perfection, in fact all the food was absolutely beautiful. It's not cheap, but it was well worth the money.

We went to the Guildford branch, and I would happily visit again, service was great and very friendly and welcoming. I would say that the restaurant was aimed at a more younger crowd as it was quite loud inside with the music - hence the 1 star off - and is decked out in neutral clean colours in an American diner kind-of-way. Not a place to go on a romantic night out perhaps, but for every other occasion it's a winner. Highly recommended.
