Data Breach and misuse of power

Today an Agent visited my home, posted a letter but did not speak with me.
Later on that evening after a lot of threatening text messages, I informed the Agent that I had cleared my debt with their client directly. Said Agent then discussed my sensitive and personal information with a male who claimed to be my partner. This was done after texting me out of frustration (annoyed I did not make payment to him directly).
I was discussed by name, account details were shared including those used by my local authority. This was done without my consent and goes against GDPR. This is a clear Data Breach that has subsequently caused me a huge amount of stress. I have made a formal complaint and will inform the ICO.

This company is a disgrace

This company is a disgrace. They're Searching for the tenant who lived in my property before me, I've proved I'm not him by way of utility bills and my tenancy agreement, yet they keep harassing my address, sending enforcement officers round and threatening to take goods that belong to me - I'm not even the one that owes the debt! I've spoken to numerous people on the phone who are rude, unhelpful and condescending and when I said this whole situation was affecting my mental health, the guy on the phone actually laughed at me! My partner and I are now seeking legal advice and have reported them to Watchdog. We've done all we can to prove we are not the person they're looking for, but apparently that doesn't matter. They'll try and take money/goods from anyone, whether it's your debt or not. We're now even looking to move house, as we're so done with having to deal with them.

This company are disgusting in their behaviour towards people. They harass you for money you don't have and even when you attempt to set up a payment plan they're so rude and unhelpful.
The man on the phone was so uninterested and disrespectful.
I asked to speak to someone else he said no one in the office would help me.
How companies can justify using debt collectors of this calibre is beyond me

Threatening, bullying and legality of behaviour questionable

What a bunch of losers! I feel sorry for the guys who work at this place, they clearly don't have the right skills set or knowledge to do any other kind or moral and respectful job. It must be soul destroying. Today I had the privilege to speak to one of them, and they must be on commission to get fines paid, their tactics and disrespectful threatening manner evidences this. Sadly they fail to understand the law, and feel they have the right to scare and intimidate. I only hope that enough complaints to the PHSO (another useless institution) sees fit to stop this antagonistic behaviors. On a final note I really do feel for those doing this soul destroying job!

Vultures

Vultures - I had to pay £425 for a Bus Lane Ticket from Newcastle City Council (July 2024) who were sending enforcement letters to my old address, even thought I pay Council Tax to Newcastle City Council and updated my address on their system when I moved house (April 2024). Sorry, you did not update your V5, how are we meant to know you changed address, because Newcastle City Council is your client and they have my correct address on records. - Honestly, I am disgusted at Newcastle City Council for using these vultures.

Mike who I got to speak to on the phone…

Mike who I got to speak to on the phone was very unhelpful, unprofessional, and very dismissive of our genuine concerns. He wouldn't pass me through to his manager. The first thing we heard from this company was when we got a hand-delivered removal notice, all other correspondence had gone to the wrong address. I don't expect debt collectors to get good reviews but these are the worst debt collectors I have dealt with, from both sides. Their third party enforcement officer was much more reasonable.

I had a really positive experience

When I received a letter from Cder, addressed to a total stranger, I wrote to them immediately to say I've been living in my house for 10 years and had no knowledge of this person. They replied, saying they knew it could be an upsetting experience to have to prove I'd lived where I said I did but it was the best way to prevent a visit from the bailiffs.I saw the logic of this and sent them a copy of my council tax bill. They responded the following day, saying no further action would be taken. I found them very professional to deal with and the people who advised me really helped me avoid what could have been a distressing experience.

Demanded personal information be sent…

Demanded personal information be sent to prove I am not the person they are seeking. When declined they are rude and abruptly end call.

Very standard outcome, reading through other reviews. If they are acting for a Government Department or Local Authority, be sure to complain about them to the contracting authority. Those organisations will eventually get fed up with processing complaints and put pressure on this company to change.

Lambeth council were the contracting authority in my case, and following my complaint to them contacted CDER to remove my address from CDER's recovery list.

Illegally Clamped Car

These people illegally clamped my elderly mother's car causing a lot of distress. They are awful people to deal with. I have written to their CEO asking for compensation because they completely ruined a much needed evening out after a family bereavement but they have not even bothered to reply.
It is fortunate that we did not need the vehicle for an emergency!
I believe that these people do some work on behalf of the Government/Council - well they need to think again.

I’m heavily pregnant and I have 5 children 3 of which are special needs. I’m having to pay for a car I no longer own which is £5000, cder are awful and won’t listen to me even though I have proof that the car isn’t owned by me. I’m now getting threatened daily and having to pay £100 a month for something which isn’t my fault. Cder has no professional communication skills and will no doubt make me go into early labour due to the stress they are constantly causing me.
