Bought via M&S website, 4 for £149. Nothing special about these shirts that are made in Vietnam. Plenty of spin about the company heritage, ignore it! Of the four purchased, one absolutely reeked of aftershave / perfume. So either it’s been worn, or somewhere in production it been contaminated. On unpacking, my wife who has allergies felt temporarily ill. Quality of the shirt is better than m&s shirts but that’s no recommendation is it. Disappointed.

I would like to commend the customer care agent ( Sherran R ) for the excellent service and professionalism shown in handling my complaint. Although my shirt from Charles Tyrwhitt was not delivered as expected despite paying for next-day delivery, the agent was polite, patient, understanding and genuinely helpful throughout the process.
Sherran listened carefully, took the matter seriously and made every effort to resolve the issue. His/her calm and courteous approach made what could have been a frustrating experience much easier. Thank you Sherran

Smart cotton polo be careful with the length
I have several of the smart cotton polo's for a year our two now and here's my experience. The quality and feel of the smart polo is simply excellent and make a perfect smart casual item for work wear, so this should be a 5 star review. The reason it is not is due to the garments body length. I'm normal size/proportions etc, 5'11 and wear medium size, I'm not long in body or anything like that, but the length of the polo leaves very little material to "tuck" into your trousers, so in normal daily use they constantly become loose, so ignore the model images on the website they show you that make these looks like they fit perfectly, these polo's are unfortunately not suited to be tucked in, so if you're happy to wear these loose fine, but if you prefer them to be neatly tucked in be warned.

This is all high quality clothing at very fair prices. I ordered a few shirts and the selection to choose from is spectacular. I feel secure ordering online with them because exchanges are no issue at all. While you can return items just as easily, I for sure won't have to. Take a few minutes and have a look. Consistent quality and excellent customer service made me a repeat offender (read: return customer) . I usually shop online but I’ve also been to 2 of their UK shops when we were there on holidays, again excellent range and service! Shirts and suits are great but jumpers bobble and chinos rip easily in my experience so I am disappointed in the quality of those casual items when CT quality on more formal clothes is very good.

Poor customer service regarding poor service quality
I've been a loyal Charles Tyrwhitt customer for several years, but my recent experience has left me genuinely disappointed. I received one of their shirts as a birthday gift, and after wearing it a handful of times, it developed holes, clearly a quality issue with the product itself.
When I contacted customer service hoping to get it exchanged under their quality guarantee, I was told I needed an order number. Fair enough, but when I explained it was a birthday gift and I had no idea which of my 30-40 guests had bought it, they still insisted I track down the original purchaser and get the order number.
That's not a quality guarantee, that's a paper trail exercise. The fault is visible. The product failed. That should be enough.
I'm not asking for special treatment, just for them to stand behind the quality they promise. Very disappointed, and for the first time in years, I'm reconsidering where I shop for shirts#

It is indeed the case that we need to establish some kind of a proof of purchase when it comes to a requested return/replacement - no matter the reason for it.
We appreciate that this can get tricky when it comes to gifted items, so the team will do what they can. Sadly, it seems as though this was a more complicated process than normal, given you're unsure who gifted the item (and presumably purchased it from us initially).

Customer support experience.
I am very satisfied with the response I received. Initially, I was a little worried because I thought my customized item might not be eligible for replacement. I was also concerned when I first saw the AI agent and could not find an email address to contact a real person directly.
However the AI agent transferred me to a human agent who understood my issue right away and I received a prompt response. I truly appreciate the support I was given.
Since I am based in Australia I was also a bit hesitant about submitting a request through a website that is not based in Australia but this experience gave me confidence. Even though this was only my second order I will definitely keep your website in mind for future purchases and I will also recommend it to my friends.
