Bought via M&S website, 4 for £149. Nothing special about these shirts that are made in Vietnam. Plenty of spin about the company heritage, ignore it! Of the four purchased, one absolutely reeked of a... See more

I've never had to try so hard to give a company my money.
I placed an initial order with Charles Tyrwhitt when some items were on sale. I was informed the delivery was returned to them because I was not home to collect the parcel (because it was not delivered on the day they said it would be delivered on).
I received no further outreach from them to reschedule the delivery. Eventually, I opened up chat support and the representative was able to reschedule my delivery for a day I would be home to collect the parcel. The parcel did not arrive on that day. Again, I received no communication from them.
I called them two days later and they informed me they could not deliver the parcel because several of the items were no longer in stock. I told them to cancel the order and issue a refund.
I've never had issues with this company previously so figured it was a one-time thing. So, I placed another order for several items (shame on me).
I worked from home several days around the noted delivery date range. I subscribed for text message notifications. I got a notice that the parcel would be delivered today. I received no text notification.
The next email I received was that the parcel had been returned to the company. I called them and asked what my options were for receiving the items. They told me I could have them sent to a store for collection. I picked a store.
Then, they told me that several of the items I had purchased were no longer in stock. I said, "ship what you have to the store and issue a refund for the items you don't have".
Then, they told me they actually couldn't send it to that particular store for collection.
The process has been absolutely maddening.
There's also something about it that feels a bit shady. Twice now, I've placed orders for items, have been home awaiting delivery and never had the bell ring, a knock on the door, or a text message. But then I'm told it's returned to Charles Tyrwhitt, and later told those items aren't in stock. How can those items not be in stock if you notified me that you were shipping them to me? It feels like they're intentionally displaying items that are not in stock to effectively capture your money early and have you wait around until they are in stock again.
The lack of understanding and willingness to find a resolution, and shady nature of how things have played out has lost them a customer for good.
*Editing this review up to 3 stars from 1. I received a thoughtful email from Charles Tyrwhitt quite quickly after posting this review. While that doesn't change the issues I experienced, their attention to their customers and willingness to make wrongs right is evident.

I have had exemplary customer service from Dipresh recovering an initially disappointing experience. I tried on some trousers in London - seemed a good fit, but not available in my desired colour. On-line they were advertised at one price, but on order came up at another, ignoring an e mail code for an added 15% discount - not good. An initial call was not handled well and I concluded it by telling the handler that I would refer the issue to the Advertising Standards Authority. To my surprise Dipresh called the following morning and resolved the issue correcting the price and waiving the delivery charge. Unfortunately they were too tight in the leg (slim not regular) and had to go back. Regular was not available. I then called back and asked Dipresh to check store as opposed to warehouse stock - he found a pair of last season's stock, possibly a slightly different colour but lemon is lemon at the end of the day and I am hoping they will be OK - if not Dipresh assured me I could return them. CT's marketing and pricing seems all over the place so check carefully but if you call and get the right guy, then things can be resolved.

Massively off in sizes compared to all other brands I have in wardrobe (Eton, Stenström, Barons, Kiton, etc.).
Only fitting normal sizes in collar, but rest from sleeve, waist, length, etc. are
Just spent 250£ in fitting with a tailor to get them somehow right and true to size.
Respond to answer:
I have similar shirts with the various fit compared to what I ordered at yours and it is still massively off compare to most other brands.

Placed order but selected wrong delivery option, went to the online CT Bot and subsequently handed to an agent, everything was upgraded to what was required without fuss! So refreshing to see such great service with an online system, very easy to navigate. TS.

I made a slight error with my order online. I used the digital assistant to kick off my issue and then a human agent (Vee) kindly asked a few security questions, looked at my order, checked stock for my size and confirmed all updated as per my request. Excellent customer service 👏 thank you

Can’t rate this company highly enough, very professional from their staff to the way they dealt with a return. I haven’t seen as good a service as this for a very long time. Would recommend this company to anyone

Your product pages advertise returns up to six months right under the delivery options, with no mention of cost. Only once you actually start a return do you find the £3.95 non-refundable fee buried in the policy. Burying a charge behind a headline claim isn't an oversight, it's a choice. Put the fee where you put the promise.

I recently needed to exchange a dress shirt I'd ordered from Charles Tyrwhitt, and the process could not have been easier. The team was friendly, efficient and genuinely helpful — no unnecessary questions, no friction, just a straightforward exchange handled quickly and professionally. It's the kind of service that makes you want to keep buying from a brand. The shirt quality speaks for itself, but the customer service is what will bring me back.

The products are good and when they arrive are a good fit and good quality. Therein lies the problem- actually having them delivered. Two shirts ordered a week ago were sent using Amazon Shipping. Apart from a message saying they have been delayed, nothing arrived. A phone call to CT customer support was helpful. A further 2 shirts were sent with next day delivery. So, here I am Sunday evening, no delivery and no update. Shambles
When the order eventually arrived, the replacement shirt wasn’t the one that I originally ordered. The returns process was helpful, but given my overall experience, I would think twice about ordering from Charles Tyrwhitt again.

The fabric quality is good, and I like the variety. But he cut is terrible. Very large even in extra slim fit. Big armhole, big wrist, big waist, big everywhere except in the back. So it doesn't fit athletic silhouette. That's unfortunate.

I've been ordering from them for years, have about 8-10 Merino jumpers/ cardigans/ troyers. Best quality. Ordered an olive green merino jumper 3 weeks ago, wore it once, noticed a sewing error, washed it, started an online chat, and voilá: Replacement is on the way, received DHL return label. Ordering from Germany, items sent from England, still very good service and pricing for shipping.

I have been a customer of CT since 15 years ago or more. Long lasting shirts and superior quality. last purchase was very very dissapointing. Shirt material is thin and kind of elastic, and the sizes have changed, even the slim fit are long and wide, similar to american cothing. Seems like you open a US market and change the skinny european style for a fatty american one.

I had some confusion about an order and did not have the confirmation email. Tom was very helpful and tracked down the order and resent all relevant emails. And, he was very courteous and professional!

The shirts invariably lack a pocket and until this changes I won't be purchasing any more

We used the custom made shirt service for a shirt to wear to a wedding and are really pleased with it. The quality, workmanship and fit are absolutely brilliant, we cannot praise them enough. The shirt also arrived earlier than we expected.
Would definitely use them again and recommend this service

Ridiculous company policy and incompetent support agents. Ordered a non-custom shirt with full return policy. Within the hour went to modify my order and they informed me the order can not be modified or canceled. The order had not shipped yet.
Their solution is to continue to ship me the shirt that I don't want and have me return it to them, and buy a new shirt. This solution they effectively pay for shipping and then have me return a shirt that they no longer can use for another customer.. if I was the business I'd just allow the consumer to cancel or modify the order.

Charles Tyrwhitt dispatched my order in the expected time period but the Amazon delivery service lost the parcel. However, Charles Tyrwhitt dispatched a replacement garment by next day delivery, timing the dispatch to work around my vacation.
The service I received was excellent, sorting the dispatch of the replacement garment over the phone. No quibbles, just straight forward customer focus and support.

Needed to add a discount to my order and couldn’t find the place. So I used the virtual assistant and it helped me quickly and effectively.
