Perfect timing

Perfect timing. I was just thinking aabout looking for a warranty program for the appliances in my home. The hindkiness toward me by the person I spoke with made me feel like it was the best thing to do.

VERY DISSATISFIED

After I made my service call appt. (a week later on a Monday was the first available), The next day, I had to change it to the following day (Tuesday). I did that on your portal as well. I got the new confirmation number: Unfortunately, my change on your portal is not communicated to the vender coming out for the service call and so after waiting an a entire week for them to show up, they did not know it was Tues and then could not see me on Tues. I then had to wait another entire week for them to show up. Why allow me to change my appt, give me a confirmation #, and then NOT give the change to the vendor??? Thank you for waisting my time and the person who gave up work on that Tues to be at my house only to find out on Monday that the service person wasn't coming. In addition, now that the service person was out and reported that the machine is not fixable, I have now been getting the runaround for 2 1/2 days without you moving forward with letting me know how you will replace the unit or what credit you will give me toward a unit of my choice. I have now been without a washing machine for over 2 1/2 weeks now and with the holiday weekend coming up, unless you move your ass tomorrow and get me what I need, it looks like I won' have a replacement until at least the middle of next week, at a minimum. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH YOUR SERVICE SO FAR.
And if you really cared about your customers, a supervisor would look into what I've said and pick up the phone to discuss the situation with me.

We’ve been waiting to get our icemaker…

We’ve been waiting to get our icemaker fixed for three months. We called the technicians company and they never return our calls. This is the third company we’ve been dealing with to fix our icemaker. When you call Choice warranty, you have to wait minimal 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Look them up on Better Business Bureau. They’re in a major lawsuit with consumers and Attorney General.

Poor call center, no technician sent

The HVAC went down, tried 6 times to reach company. Finally waited for them to answer, 88 year old with health issues, they couldn't find a tech and wouldn't reimburse if we found one ourselves. Charged for technician visit, have not credited money back. Told me it takes 24 hours, it has been 48 already. Tried to cancel service, have been on hold for 56 minutes and counting to speak to cancellation department. Spoke to one individual,he "transferred" me back to answering service. Call lasted 1 hour and 44 minutes. Was finally connected to an individual who understood the problems we encountered. Waiting to see if issues are resolved.

I would say- DONT USE CHOICE....

I have had coverage with Choice since buying my home in 2019. The term of the plan and the price were both great, which in the long run seems to be the root of the problem. As long as appliances are surviving and no replacements are needed it's eutopian. So let's get to the heart of the matter: The below 3 appliances were all in the home when I purchased it.
1) Elite Kenmore Washer dies .... replacement cost given was reasonable.
2) Within a Yr the Kenmore Elite Dryer dies ... amount given by choice was approx. $386 (seriously). I was told I might be able to acquire an "Open Box" item at Best Buy at a bargain price
3) Chamberlain Garage Door opener began to intermittently go up/down on its own. This was serviced 3 times. The first visit the tech replaced a motherboard inside of the wall (button) panel. The second visit he indicated that the problems of an opener 20 yrs old is not likely to be resolved. Choice however, refused to replace it because they regard functioning as "it goes up and it goes down". They don't care that the going up/down is an arbitrary malfunctioning of the door.

Sometime later, while doing yard work outside, the door went down and we did not have the house keys. As a result of cutting one of the trees in the front yard I was using the ladder. It turned out that I needed to break into the house from the back using the ladder. A couple weeks later I called and spoke to the claims case manager who handled the earlier reports on the door. Even in this situation, they could not agree that this situation deserved to be resolved by replacing the Garage Opener. So for now we continue to lock it every night... is that normal???

STAY AWAY. They are unreliable and do not care about you or your issue one way or another.

Kind of a long one but..

I’ve been a customer with Choice Home Warranty for a while, but this experience was unacceptable. After waiting nearly two weeks for a technician, the contractor demanded an extra $200 above my agreed service fee upon completion. When I refused, he refused to leave my home and threatened to rip out the repairs.

My husband and I spent two hours trying to sort this out over the phone with support, but customer service offered zero help, constantly bouncing the contractor between departments. He eventually accepted the standard fee, but threatened to return and remove the equipment if CHW didn't pay him, leaving behind a hole in my wall that he wasn't qualified to fix.

Since then, it’s been a nightmare. It took weeks of calling just to get a new claim opened. I’ve now been waiting another three weeks with no ETA for a technician, no follow-ups unless I call them myself, and supervisors who repeatedly tell me to "just give them time." A long-term customer shouldn't have to deal with aggressive contractors or total negligence from support.

Garbage warranty DONT USE THEM

I been with them for 3 or 4 years. Every time I use them. Its a 50 50 chance they will cove it. This was the last time. The pool guy used the words. Wear and tear. They will not cover it. I told the pool guy you cant say that. He told to them and they will cover what he thinks it is. But nothing else. Well it didnt work. So i called them back and they said no they will not send him out to fix it. So im done using them. They are garbage. Im switching to AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. Just talking with them sounds so much better.
