Customer Service not fit for purpose

received an email from Cineworld welcoming me with a new membership number, i have been a member for nearly 10 years, email say contact us if you received this in error with an email address to reply. Replied to the email address which bounces another email saying we can't be contacted by email! redirected to the automated online service and none of the options in the drop downs fit the message that needs a response. selected Unlimited, and then the options only give you the option to request a new annual membership that expects you to cancel the old one or report a missed payment. AI search provided a phone number but that just produces an automated response that they don't do a call service any more, absolutely hopeless, guess this means i have to go to the cinema and complain in person.

Slow customer service and unhelpful response

I’m really disappointed with my recent experience with Cineworld.
On Tuesday I tried to book tickets using a voucher code for a Thursday showing, but accidentally selected the Tuesday performance. I realised straight away, cancelled the booking within about five minutes, and went to rebook for Thursday – only to be told the voucher code had already been redeemed.
I contacted Cineworld immediately via the Contact Us form to explain the situation, but received no response in time, so I had to pay full price for the Thursday booking.
When Cineworld finally replied on Saturday, they didn’t address my specific concern at all. Instead, I got a generic, copy-and-paste message saying they’re unable to amend or cancel bookings and that I should manage my own booking via the website or app – which is exactly what I had already done, and which caused the issue in the first place.
Very slow to respond, no acknowledgement of the actual problem, and no effort to resolve it. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

Not a good experience at all

Was a very unpleasant movie experience. We booked tickets for watching zootroplis 2 with my family and parents for a treat. (Cineword is More expensive than the vue by quite a lot!)
Do not go to plymouth if you dont want to have to deal with other music and bass noises throughout your whole movie.
Throughout the movie especially after the first half you could hear other music and bass soo loud you could feel the vibrations on your feet. Its was really distracting and annoying. Couldn't go out half way through due to complain to my little boys sitting with me. For the price I would expect no other distracting noises for other rooms!! Contacted customer service and they still havent replied......

**update** they replied after a long time They know the 4DX rooms affects other rooms. With vibration and noise So its a known problem and they still put people next to it!! Recommend Vue over them anytime!!!

Have a customer services telephone…

Have a customer services telephone helpline, where you can TALK to a human being.
I made a mistake and booked a 3D viewing for my autistic son and his carer, paying £30.(expensive)
I was unable to cancel the booking, so I booked for a later performance of the 2D version paying a further £25 and they won't even consider a refund.
Won't be visiting again. £6 for popcorn too, disgusted.

Con artists

Bought my kids and partner’s vouchers with popcorn drinks and film oldest daughter tried booking other week after having it 10 months wouldn’t work, long story short they only last 6 months , why 6 months absolute ridiculous why would a business only warrant for 6 month it should be at least 12 months, me and my partner usually go probably every month I’ll never go there again from now on !

Don’t sign up for unlimited, it’s like hotel california

Both myself and my wife have had unlimited cards before but used annual pass codes and so didn’t have to deal with cineworld directly. We decided to try the monthly version before committing to annual this time and make sure we would use it. All sounds great except as other people have noted the customer service is nonexistent. It took me 2 months to cancel my membership and my wife is still trying to get a response causing me to have to freeze my payment card. The irony is we were trying to go back to annual as we really enjoyed regularly attending - not so much now. The whole experience has been massively soured, I’d rather travel further than give them another cent.

cineworld nightmare

i went to cineworld in central london cineworld leicester square, how is there 4 rows, screen is tiny, whats the point in going to the cinama if the quality is that bad, plus i think cineworld need to get rid of putting popcorn in a paper bag, its not possible to carry that paper bag and a drink at the same time, especially when trying to enter the showing, the door had a handle which you have to pull to get in, i spilt some popcorn on the floor trying to open the door, they need to put the popcorn in a box instead. also i didnt get why the adds took 30 minutes thats insane, normally they take a max of 20-25 mins.

Beware!!!

Beware, they're thieves and scammers! I've been trying to cancel my membership for two days now. I've sent five emails. I printed out the form, filled it out, and submitted it, as per their terms and conditions. They told me I needed to verify my information first! And then they stopped contacting me. They're scammers! They're trying to scam me into paying for another month! I don't recommend them.

Decent cinemas, but very racist.

Decent cinemas, (with overpriced concessions, of course) but how racist are these people? It is impossible to view their website from France.
When I try to do so, I get this message "Sorry, you have been blocked
You are unable to access cineworld.co.uk This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks"

I am not an online attacker. I'm a (former) frequent Cineworld customer who now lives in France. But I travel to UK very often, and always go to the cinema when I'm there. No other UK cinema chain blocks me because I am trying to view their website (and book tickets) from France.

Disgraceful service

Horrible company. I used the app as I thought it would be faster and easier. I select my closest cinema as Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow. Me and a large group of friends drive out to the shopping centre spending fuel, have a meal out, and go to the cinema only to be refused on entry! Turns out the app booked me in for Edinburgh Fountain Park despite me selecting Silverburn. I email customer services only to be told I cannot be refunded and nothing can be done about it, I am now out on a whole lot of money and the day was completely ruined, I will never go to cineworld again and will tell everyone not to either. Disgraceful from a big company like this.

absolutely ridiculous website

absolutely ridiculous website. No answer to queries. phone number that tells you to go to website. Staff at cinema unable to help in any way. Great product made impossible to use by totally frustrating web site and app. My bank card expired and I updated the payment method to new card. All payments declined. tried to rectify but am no longer logged into app. Cancelled my membership two days earlier than renewal date just to frustrate even more. Can you not see the 2 thousand one star reviews!! Why spend millions advertising a product that ultimately cannot be used. You've just lost two regular customers. We will make it our mission to tell everybody we know and meet in the future to avoid at all costs.

We had a wonderful family cinema…

We had a wonderful family cinema experience yesterday at Cineworld Enfield. I really want to acknowledge the amazing customer service we received.

Lesa, the team leader, was absolutely brilliant. We accidentally booked our tickets at the wrong cinema, but she sorted everything out for us with no fuss at all. She did it with a genuine smile and such kindness. Thanks to her, we were still able to watch the film we intended to, and the kids didn’t end up disappointed. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Jennifer was fantastic too. She took our food and drink order and was so friendly and attentive. Both ladies were a great example of excellent customer service from beginning to end.

Thank you, Lesa and Jennifer, for making our visit such a positive and memorable one.

Website is unfit for purpose!

I've just lost 2 hrs trying to book an Unlimited membership for my partner and to link him to my Unlimited account to make sure we can book tickets at the same time. The experience was exasperating and I feel as if I've lost 10 years of my life as well because of the aggrevation. Firstly, you not only have to login to Cineworld, but then again into Unlimited, but it's never clear where you are. Secondly, I have not managed to get an extra month free for me and my partner, because, no matter what I tried, I did not succeed and I eventually gave up the will to live and the discount. It's really disgraceful that Cineworld doesn't seem to be interested in improving their website, which certainly must cost them customers and their survival.

Gift voucher bought but never received

I paid for a 4DX gift voucher, including Special Delivery. Nothing received, customer service phone number listed says they don’t take phone calls any more and you have to email. Email ‘unable to be delivered’. Message sent via website did receive an acknowledgement but since then, nothing. Meanwhile the birthday for which the gift was purchased has been and gone. I am now going to have to look at recovering my money via my bank card. Awful, awful, awful - don’t touch the gift card service with a barge pole.

Purchased my usual annual unlimited…

Purchased my usual annual unlimited membership via a work related site that offers a discount. Paid my £174 and received a code. Logged into my account and entered the code. Error message, code could not be found. No customer service to call, so email sent. I'm not expecting much help so will, I suspect, have to file a claim back via my credit card.

I am not a robot

You really need to sort out your website

It cycles through verifying you are not a robot then ever lets you in, no wonder cineworld are struggling if people can’t book (app works but if the website can’t be bothered then I can’t be bothered been like this for months

Parking horror

We went to watch a film at the St Helens Cineworld because we received a voucher from a friend for my wife's birthday. We parked in the cineworld car park, but because of the inordinate amount of adverts and trailers, we exceeded the 2.5 hours by 10 minutes, we have now received a £100 fine.

I asked cineworld if they could intervene for me and contact the car parking company to explain that we were at the cinema for the whole time instead of going around the shops etc. and they refused.

They say on their mission statement that they have empathy and that the customer is at the centre of all they do, but this plainly isn't the case.

We won't be going back.

Edit: I visited the local cinema in person as I couldn't contact them by telephone or email and they kindly got in touch with the parking company to have the parking fine cancelled. Thank you. It's a shame that cineworld's Central customer services department couldn't be as helpful.
