Dire customer care from Citroen

Dire customer care from Citroen
Turbo adblue and cat converter failed At 68000 miles
Customer care involved they were a waste of time
Stellantis Citroen failed to repair the fault on 3 occasions they had my vehicle for a total of 49 days
Customer care phoned me once I had to keep ringing them to chase the delay
Would not contribute to the cost of the repairs
Spoticar warranty would not cover the cat replacement despite the fact that the faulty turbo probably cause the cat to fail
Spoticar warranty is terrible
Will never buy a Citroen again
All my previous Ford diesel have all done upwards of 100000 miles with no problems
Terrible customer care

Infotainment system update crashed and lost 3 years of map updates

I have a 3 year old Citroen C3 which I bought from new and wanted to update the maps just before the contract was due for renewal. I entered my VIN number in the Citroen map update screen and it informed me I needed to update the infotainment screen prior to updating the maps. I downloaded the updates but asked my dealer, Budgen in Shrewsbury. They refused to carry this out in case they encountered any problems. They advised me to do it myself and if it didn't work to contact Citroen Customer care who would then authorise the garage to do the work as a recall. After complaining to Citroen that the garage refused to do the update I did the update myself and it failed.
Lia at Customer Services (complaints) would not accept that the update had failed and said I could take it to dealer in Telford instead. I said there was no point as the update failed saying it was incompatible with the hardware. Not only that the infotainment system and map version reset to the factory setting wiping out all the intermediate updates made.
Lia refused to provide an explanation and just kept saying I can either do the updates myself or go to Telford. She said it wasn't essential that the updates were carried out and should probably wait a couple of months! I have paid for these updates as part of the original purchase price and she offered no compensation when I requested this and just kept repeating what she was allowed to say - it was like talking to a brick wall refusing to address the situation I had presented her.

Talking to Lia was very stressful, she seemed to have no desire to solve the problem but just wanted to fob me off.

Also, the Budgen dealer in Shrewsbury had said that trying to update the infotainment in some instances had resulted in the car being immobilised, which is why they would not help me.
As a result I have cancelled the 5 year service plan with Budgen in Shrewsbury and will never buy another Citroen.
Prior to this experience I was thinking of replacing our main car in due course with one of the larger Citroens as I really like the comfortable ride, engine, gearbox and safety features we have on the C3 ShinePlus.

Stay away from PSA / Stellantis group vehicles

Stay away from PSA / Stellantis group vehicles. I have a Citroën Dispatch 1.5 BlueHDi. The cam chain snapped. They also didn’t mention that it needed to be replaced. A brand this fragile and low-quality is unacceptable. The dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. Meanwhile, my friends who own VW or Mercedes vehicles, even though they’ve driven more miles than I have, use them without any issues. The finance companies of these brands are also absolutely unhelpful. Stellantis group sales are dropping day by day. Even Trump imposed tariffs on them. I sincerely wish for them to go bankrupt soon. I can't even begin to describe the financial and emotional damage their vehicle has caused me. I’m sick of your cars made out of garbage.

Update
======
The loss for 2025 is 22.2 billion euros(Stellantis Group). I celebrated at home. May the curse of everyone whose life you have financially ruined fall upon you.

Be careful before buying a car from…

Be careful before buying a car from here!
We purchased our c4 cactus from here 7 years ago. We have had 2 recalls for faults on the car and We have a full service history with our local garage. We've just found out that it has failed its Mot on emissions due to the wet belt damaging the engine. This should have been flagged on the 2nd recall 2 years ago, but because we didn't have a full citroen service schedule they weren't obligated to inform us of this. We are now left with a 7 year old car with less than 60000 miles. Tried to ring the dealer this morning and no one has bothered to call me back and the Citroens customer complaints line is dreadful.

I hope people read this and don't make the same mistake we did.

Appalling customer service

In the past 14 months, I have owned an Citroën ami that I purchased new from Citroën. Despite having less than 2000 miles on the vehicle, I have encountered numerous issues from the very beginning that have yet to be resolved. Despite numerous visits to Citroën, the problems persist, including various water leaks that have penetrated the car, necessitating additional visits to Citroën. Unfortunately, despite these repeated attempts, the issues remain unresolved, and even on my most recent visit, Citroën refused to take the car for repairs. As a result, the customer service representative offered to repurchase the car for £2000.

My C3 aircross

My C3 aircross, not yet 5 years old, with only 23000 miles on clock has a fault with manual gearbox. Works fine up to 4th gear, but 5th and six missing. Gear stick goes in but no drive, found out on motorway, lucky not hit by trucks. No warning light. Local dealer quoted £6000 for new gear box, not much short of value! Hoping gearbox specialist can fix at reasonable price.
Irony is I have just bought a C3 aircross for wife! Regretting it now.

Appalling customer service from Lia M

Spoke to a woman named Lia M and her customer service is SHOCKING and overall rude. I paid for a vehicle check with green flag that told me I had a safety recall on my car as the rear window needed re-bonding so I called Citroen and booked it in Chippenham both the garage and Citroen confirmed they could see the recall. On the day it took me an hour and half to get to and from the appointment to only find out that within a month they had closed the recall and failed to inform me, the garage said they would take it to look at it anyway seen as I had made the long journey, it turned out Citroen had made an error in putting this recall on my car and I didn’t even have the correct windows to match the recall. Chippenham motor company were amazing and even gave me £10 petrol to apologise but said I needed to contact Citroen to remove it. I was promised a callback on the Tuesday that never happened and eventually spoke to Lia on the Friday. She told me that they did not recognise green flag as a reputable company, that the recall never existed, that Chippenham was not a garage they recognised (it’s listed as one of their garages), that she could only see an old recall for the back wheels but that she could also only see open recalls because she didn’t have access to closed recalls so massively contradicted herself there, initially told me that I couldn’t speak to her manager, then that I couldn’t have the first name of her manager that would be calling me and then finally that she couldn’t email me to tell me that the safety recall for the rear window was never meant to be placed on my car. She was extremely argumentative and spoke over me constantly talking down to me, I have never had such rude customer service. Fast forward an hour or two and she had emailed me with exactly what I asked for even though she stated multiple times she wouldn’t, so she made it all just a massive stress for absolutely no reason. Being completely honest, it has made me question if I even want to buy another Citroen!

Great car terrible customer service

Love my C4 Grand Picasso what let's citroen down is the customer service. I put in an insurance claim as my panaramic roof was hit by something which left a crack. The body shop damaged the windscreen trims and had to order new ones from citroen. That was in September 2024 it is now March so 6 months (inclusive) on they have telephoned to say they're sending them to the body shop. When I complained about how long it had took my complaint was passed on, the following day I got a phone call from citroen and basically was told tough and I won't get any sort of compensation not even as much as a software upgrade for the satnav...which let's be honest wouldn't have cost them anything. Absolute terrible customer service and experience from citroen

Run away fast from Citroen. Monopoly

I own a C3 2018 and I have to change an oxygen sensor and I called the dealership to ask the price. After a price double them aftermarket, I asked for the correct part number, because as an owner, I suppose is my right to call de manufacture of my car to get the correct part number. After tried 4 dealership in London (Stellantis) and be in contact 3 times with the customer care (where I spent 1:30 hours) they finally told me that they cannot provide me the part number. Also, the person from parts at Stellantis Wimbledon told me that cannot provide me this part number cause I can buy it somewhere else.
So, if you buy a Citroen here, or you pay the abusive price that they want, or they will force you to get the wrong part number.
This is a monopoly and it’s not possible that as an owner of a Citroen car I cannot have this information from them.
Citroen being Citroen. Buy a Japenes or German car and be happy

Citroen Shambles …

We’re do I start I purchased a Citroen C3 had it about 3 years when a malfunction came up which was a known issue to Citroen and it was a wet belt took it to the dealership who was quite good but Citroen refused to pay full of amount of cost and I had to pay £600 towards the repair they had been recalled in France and Germany but not U.K. I decided to change the car for a new C4 don’t know why I didn’t learn my lesson after 2 weeks and whilst on Holiday in Repubic of Ireland I stopped at a garage went to start my car and it came up with engine immobiliser fault I contacted U.K. Citroen assist who was useless in the end I contacted IE assist who was absolutely brilliant and got breakdown straight to me who managed to get the car started but said he couldn’t guarantee this wouldn’t happen again anyway we got home and booked my car into dealership who could not find the fault I left it with them and they had to call Citroen tech any way they released the car only for this to happen again Contacted customer care at Citroen who basically said it’s not there problem car started again and yesterday whilst out shopping same fault again it is a joke o top of all that the RAC took 24 hrs to come out to it to do diagnostics and told me it’s a phantom fault and even the manufactures probably would not find it this occasion called RAC and was told would be 20 mins and just putting the expected time back in the end I cancelled the call left the car were it was and had to pay £40 for a taxi to get me home what a shambles of after sales from the Citroen customer care and rac assist .

WARNING

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
NEVER BUY A CITROEN!!
Where to begin?! I have 5 Citroen vans all less than 4 years old and every one of them has had major issues and you have a battle with warranty to get anything that you are due!
I purchased a new engine block 5 months ago and had it fitted by a reputable independent mechanic. The water pump failed and it went in to Citroen Derby. They identified the issue and said that was covered by warranty and sent it off to be authorised. Two whole weeks and numerous calls from the dealer and myself later, warranty admitted fault and said a new water pump would be issued but I would have to pay £500 for it to be fitted. I went through customer service to ask if this was fair considering they had supplied the engine block with the water pump. A further 3 weeks later I get an email saying the warranty for the vehicle has expired!!?? The engine block is 5 months old and is still in warranty. They have no idea what they are doing! They don not respond to emails for me to explain, the dealer has tried to make contact. I have called over 20 times, kept getting put through then disconnected and was told the case handler would call me back. They never have! I asked for the complaint department number or email address. Apparently they don’t have one ? Their decision goes. I was offering to pay half the fee but no. They still say it’s not in warranty.
Absolute joke of a workforce and joke of a company.

Disappointed, disgusted and I will never buy a Citroen again.

I highly advise against anyone buying one also. The customer service, after care and warranty you think you have isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.

Sticking to Ford’s in the future!
If I could rate this 0 stars I would!!

I have a fleet of Citroen Berlingo's…

I have a fleet of Citroen Berlingo's and relays and have a 24 plate Berlingo in the dealers at the moment and they are not prepared to cover a damaged wiring loom which they say was caused by a mouse.
The van is less than 6 months old and the damage is next to the injector plug .I don't how they know this was damaged by a mouse or if it was that it was done in my ownership or where the van was stored. They want £1200 for a loom and can't give me a delivery time only saying they are on back order but could be months.

NOT VERY HAPPY

Extremly poor reliability and even worse customer service

If you are looking for a van do not look at the Citroen range as they will spend more time parked up waiting to go into a garage than they will be on the road. We have a large Citroen van fleet and any time we have more than 10% off the road waiting between 6 and 14 weeks to go into the garage to fixed. once fixed they usually end up off the road again for the same problem within 6 months. Not only do we have to wait long times to get the vans in for repair or service we are also being asked to drive over 100 miles to take the vans in. Citroen what are you doing!

Citroen buyer beware, they have no interest in customer

I have a 2019 citroen c5 which I purchased from cazoo in June 22. Two weeks ago while accelerating to overtake, engine oil pressure failure warning, stop car warning and goes into limp mode( very dangerous!) Car will reset to let me take to local garage, diagnostic reveals it is premature degradation of a wet timing belt causing the oil pressure failure. Onresearch this is a known problem, my car has done 48000 and I have it serviced to meet manufacturers guidelines every year and have invoices with part details since ipurchased and service book has full history. I contacted citroen customer services explained problem as I had seen it may be covered under warranty. They said yes it may be so ling as full service history but needs a diagnostic at main dealer £162.
I was initially told 4-5 week wait but got it booked in 1 week later. I was then told service history insufficient as I did not have invoice for the cazoo service stamp and told I needed to get it I explained this would not be possible as they went into administration in March 24. I contacted customer service again to ask for help and advice. Noone got back to me. When I phoned again I was told nothing they could (or would do). I said I would like to take it further to be told that the only was to take it further was to take them to court!.
So buyer and service history beware. I have owned 2 citroens but never again! It is costing me £2200 in total including diagnostics to repair. Service book is not worth the paper it is written on.

Appalling service, terrible Vehicle reliability

We have had 4 Citroen Relays over the last 6 years, 3 of which which have had catastrophic engine failures resulting in new engines being required for all 3.
On contacting Citroen we were told that there was at least a 12 week wait to get this work completed.
I contacted Citroen customer service and have now been told that as we did not use a main dealer for the new engines they cannot look at our case for compensation.
The customer service team just apologized and said they understood which they clearly do not.
So beware, do not buy one of these vans and stay away from Citroen as the aftercare is atrocious.

Poor customer servce

New Car collected 30.9.2024. no problem with dealership who have been very helpful
2 faults on it, the bonnet poorly fitted so overhangs on one side and the drivers front headlight is not fixed in properly, with gaps around. Will go into body shop next week. my complaint is that these faults should have been spotted, by citroen, prior to release of a new car to dealership. Phoned main customer service tried to discus the problems and just kept being asked the same question over and over again.
