SCAM alert! I won't go into too much details as all the other reviews cover the costs and have received the same poor service.
Top and bottom of it, I paid an extortionate amount for the DBS check, paid the extra for the fast track and six weeks down the line I have not received anything.
They also took 8 pounds out of my account for a subscription I was not aware of; I have now cancelled the application and supposedly will receive a refund of a fraction of the amount I paid.
Shame on you Clearcheck.

This an appalling process . Whoever designed the website & system needs sacking

AVOID — You can get a standard DBS check directly via the government website for £21.50. ClearCheck charged me £86.
I signed up late at night for a volunteer role DBS check and immediately received an automated document request. By 8am the next morning I had cancelled — yet they are only refunding me £27, claiming their automated overnight processing justifies keeping the remaining £59.
On top of this, I discovered I had been enrolled into a recurring monthly subscription I was never clearly informed about, requiring a separate cancellation request and a call to my bank to block further charges.
To summarise what cancelling required:
• A ticket to dispute the refund
• A separate ticket to cancel the undisclosed subscription
• A call to my bank to block future payments
This pattern of unclear pricing, disproportionate cancellation fees, and undisclosed subscriptions is well documented in reviews here. I will be reporting this to the Disclosure and Barring Service (as a registered umbrella body they are accountable to the DBS), Trading Standards, and the Financial Conduct Authority regarding the subscription practices.
Save yourself the hassle — use the government website or a reputable provider.

I was assisted by a lady called Olivia. She was so prompt with the information that I needed. Olivia was professional.

The company is a third pary supplier of dbs check that they are not even legitiamte or accepted by official bodies. When I placed the order, I was not aware of the different certificate they would provide. Now I have spent over £100 on this useless document and I still need to apply for the actual one from the barring office. They would not issue invoices. No refunds allowed. No response from customer service. My request was put with my work account with invoice number 1515741 and unique reference number is: 521529088

Olivia was really helpful with answering my queries and help and supported to ensure I had given the correct evidence needed to process my application
Hugely grateful for this
Thank you Olivia

They took my money twice on the app and then nobody was around to refund!! No caller function just a ticket systems that I am still waiting for!!!!
I ended up going to a competitor who stated that all was done and a simple call to a person was completed. Clear check the id nothing clear with your system. 202 pounds out of my war pension and you don’t even give a flying fiddle about me.
Your system is an entrapment to make money on a government requirement….. shame on you robbing a pensioner !!!
I still await my refund
AVOID THESE PEOLE AT ALL COST ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY !!!!

this is a scam, the company might be registered but its 100% a scam and should be avoided at all costs, they took an initial £86.50 for a express service but did not disclose that they then would be hooking into my bank every month for an additional £8 and then want me to pay another company to verufy my documnts which is bonkers ! this is not a ligit company , so UPDATE the reply below is laughtable this is still a scam company and time on the phone to the direct gov helpline also confirmed that many others have the same experience this might be a registered company but they are not providing the DBS certs and they are taking subscriptions without coonsent and this is a fake company

Clear Chek's services are expensive, but I like that they respond quickly to emails

Shocking experience so far. I applied in error for DBS check & paid 86.50. Immediately I realised my mistake and applied for full refund. I’m in process of asking my bank to recall payment via Disputes Team as Clearcheck have refunded me just 39.25 for “work done”, despite Vicky offering to refund me 66.50, charging me “only” 20.00 as a “goodwill” gesture. I have refused any partial refund as I intend to pursue the full amount I paid. I am a volunteer for a Foodbank. I realised my error straightaway. I now understand the charge for DBS check for volunteers is around £20. I now realise Clearcheck is a separate organisation. I contacted DBS who agreed with me that I should pursue a full refund and that I should ask Clearcheck to contact me by phone. I am still awaiting their phone call. Aakriti, Vicky, Charmaine are all at Clearcheck and have not helped me at all.
I am awaiting information from Clearcheck as to their complaints procedure. If not resolved to my satisfaction ( a full refund) I will escalate further. Do Clearcheck really want negative publicity ? Does your reputation matter to you? Now please understand I made a genuine error - I notified you and my bank as soon as I made it- and do the right thing.
When I ring I just get an automated reply. My unique reference no. is 521530542

Would not recommend at all.
Paid for the enhanced service and have to pay extra 15£ for ID check which basically is 100£ in total and the output?
They said via email that I will receive Just a basic DBS check
By the time a refund is requested after realising we would only receive a basic check and have to pay extra for ID check, the total refundable amount crumbled to 23£
This would be considered as a robbery than a service

This is a scam. They charge a large fee for no difference in the service you get from applying for a DBS directly. DO NOT USE. Reported as fraud to my bank.
Submitted a cancellation and refund request over 10 days ago, and received absolutely nothing in response. They are in breach of Fair Trade law and regulation, including the DMCC 2024, MMR 2008, CRA 2015. I am going to report them to Trading Standards. For Clearcheck my unique support reference number is 521532976. Refund or get reported with follow up.

- Paid for enhanced DBS, it's a basic check at enhanced cost.
- Paid for fast track and their recommended external validation to speed up the process. After paying and using their recommended service, they said it wasn't the correct process and I need to get a person to sign.
- 4 days in, no reply from support.
I've been charged about 5 times the cost of doing it myself and it's taking twice a long.
This company doesn't need to exist.

Lisa made the whole process very smooth and my costumer experience of using the service for a first time very pleasant. I would definitely recommend for anyone.

DO NOT USE. They are cowboys. Advertise a check for £23 but only if you read the small print somewhere - as i sure as hell didn’t see it - will you see a management fee that takes the cost over £100. And it still took them a week to respond. I used the official government site in the end - i stupidly thought these clowns would be quicker. I don’t have anything useful back from Clearcheck though I am waiting for a response to my complaint. I’ve also complained to my credit card company. These guys are essentially SCAMMERS and i don’t use the term lightly.
