Franchising scam

Franchising scam. Avoid them in the South for anything complicated! Learn from my expensive mistake.

I made the big mistake of thinking this company would be reliable, let alone professional.
Having placing an order with this company and after many cancellations I was left with a partially dismantled window!!!!

I was then told the cost of the work would need to increase (due to a badly carried out estimate).
Initially I agreed, but later refused the increased costs; as per the contract. (Mostly due to the multiple cancellations)

Phoning the head office to cancel (as per the T&Cs on the website), I was meerly forwared to the dodgy sole trader who had been stringing me along; who incorrectly informed me that I could not cancel - insisting the work should continue.
This was in clear breach of the T&Cs, which I was horrified to discover were with the sole trader (as a franchise) rather than with the parent company (explaining their disinterest in my cancellation attempt)

I had to get Citizen's Advice involved, who wanted to escalate this to Trading Standards, before the tinpot trader finally back down.

Months after placing my order, I finally got a professional and local firm in. They were a bit more pricey (due to C2C's bad estimate); but the job was done quickly and to a high quality.

Previous C2C team were 5-star, these guys just 3

Of max 5 stars:
None deducted for rescheduled/late arrival of team. Anyone can get screwed over by Covid.
One star deducted for glass cleaned on neither side before fitting. I cleaned the inside, but paw prints will remain outside until next visit of window cleaners (first floor)
One star deducted for sprinkles left on floor of loo.

This written in response to C2C request for a review on their NEW Trustpilot page. Have to wonder what happened to the old page. I can still find my earlier review when I check my review history
