I ( and my entire ski group) have been…

I ( and my entire ski group) have been waiting for a refund from Club Med since 22/3/20, in regards to our cancelled ski holiday. Our ski group have had to chase CM repeatedly and we are still in the dark as to when we shall get a refund (£1420 each), if at all. There has been very little feedback from CM.Some of us have been pushed from pillar to post. The person who was supposedly handling our claims has now left CM. I appreciate CM have to handle many cancellation claims but we ( and seemingly many others) have been waiting almost 6 months and still not received a refund. It is apparent from reading these reviews that some CM customers ( including my ski group) have concerns as to whether CM is in a position to actually pay refunds.

The Companies Acts provide that if a company is unable to pay its debts it should cease trading. A company’s Directors can be held personally liable if a company continues to trade when insolvent. If CM are solvent then they should now pay their creditors in full or at least give suitable assurances to customers. 6 months is surely long enough even in a pandemic.

Like many others on here...

Like many others on here, trying to get a refund is like talking to a brick wall. I appreciate the pandemic has caused huge disruption, but it has certainly shown businesses for who they really are and how they treat their customers: Zero comms, zero customer management or service. Constantly being sent round in circles with who to contact and how - and that's when you can even get a response. No one wants to help. Feels like we've been conned.

Absolute Garbage

Like most on here, still waiting for a refund even though I was asked for my bank details and have an email saying it would be paid within 5 working days. It should have been paid in April.
Thousands of pounds is a lot of money to not have access to in the current climate.
Never again.
I did have another holiday booked with Crystal, who emailed to say that it would take longer to pay my refund, yet within 8 weeks of cancellation the money was back in my bank account.
The Chinese own Club Med, how down hill it has gone since they took over.

Still waiting for refund from 15 March…

Still waiting for refund from 15 March cancelled ski trip. To add insult to injury 2 from our group of 6 have been asked for their bank details for refunds (even though we all paid on credit card at the same time). This company has the worst customer service, we have been treated appallingly.

We too are unable to get a refund

We too are unable to get a refund. Have tried everything but they are unscrupulous and liars. We have no option but to sue them. If they fail as a company then we would be covered by ATOL. This would do us a favour. I cannot see how they can be allowed to carry on trading as they have no customer service and by law we should be able to get a refund.

Awful Awful Service

Awful Awful Service.

I am so disappointed in a company that has so much potential with such a (usually) great product.

However, their customer service severely lets them down. I am a travel agent and have had experiences with many different tour operators. Most of which have been excellent in dealing with such an unprecedented situation and have done their very best to accommodate their customers and manage expectations appropriately.

The same can certainly not be said about Club Med. The customer relations team have shut their phone lines for starters (which already says all you need to know about their approach to customer service). There has been no personal communication between myself and their agents, whenever I email for updates on my clients refund, I get the same blanket "copy and pasted" response, so I have absolutely no idea where my client's refund is up to. They say they are "trying their best" but I have seen absolutely no evidence of any progress on my refund (not even a cancellation invoice) and it has been almost 4 months since my clients were due to go away.

I truly feel for anyone who may be needing their refund more than ever as a result of this pandemic but are unable to access their funds and don't even have any idea when they will get their money back.

Club Med - you really need to get your priorities straight as at the end of the day, if you have no customers you will have no business. This pandemic has brought out the very best and worst out of the travel industry and unfortunately for Club Med it is the latter.

When this is all over, agents and customers alike will remember the tour operators that looked out for us and those that buried their heads in the sand...

Long delay but came through in the end...

I booked a 2 week Club Med package ski holiday in France from 8-22 March 2020 for myself and my wife. Club Med cancelled the second week by email at 10 PM on 14 March 2020 while we were in resort. They were unable to supply us with any return transport leaving us high and dry in a ski resort closing down that night. A request to stay in the club that night was refused and we faced being out on our ear unless we could get a taxi to Geneva. Luckily we did, without any help from Club Med and managed to get flights home at huge extra cost. They ignored our claim for a refund and, to date, have not responded to our claim in any way. Worse, they responded to our credit card company to say they had already refunded us “by voucher” (a lie) which led to our claim being rejected. They have now had the audacity to send me adverts suggesting I make a new booking. How they think this behaviour is acceptable is beyond me.

UPDATE:- After having to raise a small claim against my credit card company, I finally extracted an email address from Club Med which resulted , after a bit of further delay, in a full refund and payment of repatriation costs, over 6 months after making the claim. In case it helps anyone else still awaiting a refund, email Lou-Anne.Hoarau at clubmed.com.

Crap Service

Absolutely disgusting the way they are holding onto customers' money without issuing refunds. My ski holiday was canceled the night before and we didn't even get an official notification, we read it on their web site at midnight. The official cancellation and credit refund note took weeks to materialise. I've tried everything to get a refund, escalated my claim to management, tried chargeback and not a penny back. The CRN expires end of Jan 2021! Why would i ever book with them again!!!

If only Trustpilot could allow a -100…

If only Trustpilot could allow a -100 score! Club Med, as a large well respected travel company, have been shocking with a complete lack of communication or respect for their customers. I feel sorry for their travel advisors manning the phones, they have been hung out to dry by the management who are hiding behind a single email address. I guess it takes a crisis to expose poor management processes, but wow, no one there seems to know what they are doing! I am owed £10k for a holiday in the Maldives that was cancelled. Like other reviewers here, I have had an email saying they cannot process refunds as they are all working from home. Pathetic excuse. Get on with it Club Med, use some leadership and start communicating honestly with your long suffering customers.

I don’t even give them one star but…

I don’t even give them one star but wouldn’t be allowed to type anything otherwise. We are waiting for a refund of almost £8,000 for a ski holiday cancelled the day after we arrived in the resort. This should be a news item because friends who booked with other companies that had holidays cancelled got refunded. We’ve made numerous attempts at contacting them making it clear we want a refund but we never get a response. I will never travel with them again. Spend your hard earned money wisely and avoid this unethical company. Shame on you ClubMed.

Owed `+£8,0000 -Booked Skiing holiday in Sept

Booked Skiing holiday in Sept. ClubMed cancelled due to COVID-19 in March. I've had 2 emails since then, finally acknowledging a full refund, but saying they can't process it due to working from home!?! They have over £8,000. I will never use them again, it's disgusting how they are treating their customers

1 star only because I can’t give 0

1 star only because I can’t give 0. Same as all the other reviews: months of being fobbed off and now refusing to answer my request for even a time frame never mind a refund. They way the company are going no one will rebook with them ever again and they will be going bust. I’d avoid booking any holidays with this company.

Avoid Club Med

Avoid Club Med. We booked our 2020 holiday well in advance, in October 2019. We reluctantly paid the balance in April 2020 because if we defaulted they would claim that we had cancelled and we would have been liable for 90% cancellation fee. Since then we have been unable to get hold of them. We have rung, emailed, written. We spend hours on the phone each day, but never get through on their phone lines. The resort we are going to is still closed. We are due to travel shortly, and Club Med are un-contactable, and have not sent us any confirmation or information about the holiday. Their website was last updated 2 months ago, on the 7th May. I am appalled that such a large company can blank their customers like this, and I can only presume that they are on the verge of bankruptcy. I do not want to arrive and find the resort shut, but am at a loss of what to do, since there is no way of contacting Club Med. We have had other holidays affected by the pandemic this summer, and all other companies have been superb at keeping us updated with emails, and they answer their phones. I will never again book Club Med.

DO NOT BOOK WITH CLUB MED - STILL WAITING REFUND

Only giving one star because you have to give something. Same as everyone else with cancelled holiday, had contact at first sending a credit note valid until 31 January 2021 and nothing since other than their internal systems and they are working from home blah blah. My Australian friend who booked same time as us as we were meeting in Portugal has had half their money returned and having to claim on insurance for the rest.
I also booked Jet2 at the same time, I didnt have to even apply for a refund, I got sent an email in May saying refund would be given within 28 days and it has been received.
CM obviously do not realise how many people will not now book with them again.
I am now logging complaint with CMA as advised on here, I have also emailed Matt Allwright.....Lets hope something gets done.

Lodge a complaint with the Competition & Markets Authority

We had a holiday to Morocco cancelled back in March for obvious reasons. Like thousands of others we have yet to receive a refund although we have asked for it several times. On their website they ask you to bear with them whilst they deal with everything, but this was 3 months ago now, and it's disgraceful. I lodged a complaint with the CMA yesterday which was very quick and easy to do, as this company needs to be held to account for their actions (surely illegal?). I would urge more to do so, and hopefully they will start to repay their customers....we're not here to keep Club Med afloat.

No refund yet.

We are also waiting for a refund for a holiday we missed at the end of March. Club med are ignoring my emails and when you eventually get someone on the phone they just say they will be dealing with it. It’s not good enough. How dare Club med keep all this money that doesn’t belong to them - it is criminal. Despite the fact that we have had great previous holidays with them before, we will never use them again - they have no morals.

No communication from ClubMed.

We have a holiday booked for July this year. We are happy to defer the holiday until next year. I have filled in their online form (about 3 weeks ago) but haven't heard back. I can't get through to them on the phone. I know have no idea if they expect me to go or not or whether they are willing to defer as their website suggests. This is not good enough. They should be spending more time communicating with customers not less.
