Coachman Laser Xcel 845. Disappointing
Coachman Laser Xcel 845.
This caravan has had several issues since I purchased it. The ‘finish’ on what is supposed to be a premium caravan is appalling. The latest issue is joining tape on walls and ceiling peeling off, my dealer has advised Coachman are aware of this issue, my question is what are Coachman doing about it, tape is going to be replaced under warranty - I wonder how long it will last?
Second issue - coloured veneer has chips appearing on 3 of the cupboard doors - Coachman have today refused my warranty claim !
This is the first and last Coachman I will purchase, I have always purchased Swifts previously.
Think before you purchase a Coachman
Coachman Caravans - Poor After Sales Experience
Coachman caravans have really poor after sales service, in fact in my experience it is non-existent. In March 2023, my Coachman Lusso 1 was booked into Granthams for it's first annual service. Granthams telephoned me after three hours to advise that the van had been badly damaged on site.
I reluctantly agreed to repairs, which at the time looked fine. However, nearly three years later the repairs have failed, there are stress cracks around the repaired area, and the sealant has failed in a number of areas, resulting in damp readings.
Granthams simply stated that their repairs are guaranteed for six months only. I responded that Granthams caused the damage not me, which wasn't responded to.
I therefore asked Coachman to get involved and they simply responded that my dispute is with the dealer, not the manufacturer, despite Granthams being their appointed sales agent.
I saw a Director at the NEC last month and incredibly he supported Granthams stating that they are working hard at their after sales service, adding that they sell 250 vans per year, which clearly is all he and Granthams are interested in.
I've lost confidence in my van and the Coachamn brand, but refuse to allow this awful experience, (which has been totally outside my control) ruin our overall enjoyment of caravanning and exploring all that the UK has to offer.
Worst by far in terms of number of faults
I've had 2 coachman caravans now, both vip 575s, 2018 and 2023. Now I've owned over 10 new caravans from a number of manufacturers, and without doubt, coachman have been the worst by far in terms of sheer number of faults....over 30 on my current caravan. They blame 3rd parties.....but THEY chose who the 3rd parties are, not us! All caravans get faults, but coachman.....well they win hands down with numbers

Ongoing issues with our Lusso ll 2025 model.
Appalling service, even worse customer service.
So, Coachman Caravans could you please answer this?
My 2025 Lusso ll has been back to our dealership twice and yourselves once. We got our van back last week. You tell me you had whale out to check our ongoing water issues, and all though I have no proof of this, you say our water system is fine!
Please see this video from this morning sent to you via email 15/02/2026 and tell me again if this is ok?
Well I was going to post a review on…
Well I was going to post a review on how bad and extremely flippant in their verbal response to me (even when the caravan sales department spoke to coachman on my behalf). But reading the previous reviews, it’s quite obvious they are NOT the company they used to be! It will most certainly be my first and last purchase in the coachman clan.
Be very wary before purchasing new or second hand outfits from this company!!
Completely disown responsibility once…
Completely disown responsibility once the vans leave their factory. Poor materials, especially foam bed mattress, appalling! Had to replace them myself, when asked for replacement they said they do not do "UPGRADES"
TECHNOLOGY IS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY, ridiculously so.
Poor service at Grantham Caravans
We purchased a new Coachman VIP 575 in March this year 2025 from Grantham Caravans, in Grantham , Lincolnshire.
Sales persons were extremely helpful at the time of choosing our caravan, good knowledge of van etc. delivery was on time, but, unfortunately following delivery the customer care from Grantham Caravan is extremely poor to horrendous.
We needed their assistance on our first outing as no water and only half of the van had working electrics.
Only advice, bring van back. We were completely set up on the site.
Gas bed struts did not work. Told to push hard down on bed, a bit scary as we did not want to do any further damage. a stream of e mails followed before the warranty and parts had arrived at Grantham.
Whilst traveling to our storage, before taking the van in for snagging work to be completed, the oven door handle dropped of on one side, causing a deep gouge on the draw underneath the oven.
On arrival to Grantham's for our snagging list to be repaired, we told them about the oven door handle and that there were some screws on the floor, which we did not know where these had come from. Service department were not interested at all. they only had a list prepared for 2 snagging items and not the full list as agreed.
I can genuinely say our overall experience has been appalling, the best way to describe it is "we have had your money, now not bothered"
Would we recommend Granthams........NO
The most uncaring company I've ever…
The most uncaring company I've ever dealt with. They don't know the meaning of customer care and the quality of their caravans is garbage. Their aftercare department is a complete joke. They aren't intested. We've caravanned for 30 years and we've had nothing but problems due to poor build quality. We are on the third window falling out to date and we've owned it 3 years from new. First and last Coachman we will ever own. I'd rather give up caravanning than own one of these ill thrown together pieces of junk
Poor quantity,Poor service.
We have had numerous issues with our 2024 laser excel 845. Getting them sorted is a nightmare. the dealers are a waste of time and the whole experience of buying a "Top of the range" caravan has been an experience we wished we had never gotten into.Do yourselves a favour and think long and hard before spending your hard earned cash.
Thankfully ours is a minor issue
We traded our motorhome for a new Coachman xcel 875, and chose this manufacturer due to their established name for quality. There has really only been one minor issue to date, but being minor, I would have thought Coachman would have dealt with it differently. The drawer under the three front windows is only held closed by a nylon latch, that is clearly not up to the job. There were only a few light items stored there, but the drawer opened whilst travelling coming completely off the runners. I was told by the supplying dealer, that since the van was just over a year old, the runners were not covered under warranty, so I sourced identical ones for £2.80. I enquired as to the availability of the chrome push button lock/handles fitted throughout the van, as I wanted to fit a matching one to this drawer. These chrome locks are available retail at £1.20 including delivery when purchasing five, but the chrome rose is slightly different in shape, and I wanted everything to match. I contacted Coachman pointing out that their 2025 caravans had a chrome lock fitted to this drawer, that would strongly suggest they were aware of an issue, and if they could give me a manufacturer part number to purchase an identical lock, but was merely told that all parts are "private and confidential". We experienced an unusual issue with our Isabella awning that would have cost a few hundred pounds to remedy, but Isabella supplied the parts free of charge with no questions asked, but Coachman will do nothing about an issue that would cost pennies to resolve. Thankfully this is only a minor issue and did not involve anything major, as after reading some of the other reviews, it does not instil a lot of confidence.

Warning don’t buy a Coachman
If you are looking for a new caravan don’t buy a Coachman.
We thought they were quality caravans built with care and high quality fixtures and fittings. We were wrong.
All the blinds fly screens scrunch up when you try to close them.
The bracket to hold the microwave has totally destroyed it self. I can not believe anyone thinks the way it’s been fitted that it would survive for more than a few days.
The pump on the toilet flush stopped working so I contacted our local dealer who refused to do any warranty work. We ordered the Acadia 545 at the February 2024 NEC show and purchased the van from a dealer in Dorset. They told us we could take the van to any Coachman dealer for warranty work but this is simply not the case. I contacted Coachman direct and spoke to someone who could not have been more rude if they tried. All they kept saying was you need to take it back to where you got it. A 380mile round trip.
We have had 3 different Swift caravans over the last 15 years all new vans and all have had a few teething issues but nothing like this sub standard piece of junk. I wish we had stayed with Swift.
If you are in the market for a new van do yourself a favour and don’t bother looking at the Coachman Range.
Poor Customer Service
I bought a Coachman in 2018 when at the NEC show, first caravan. It’s pot luck which dealer you get. The dealer is several hundred miles away and so servicing initially done by approved workshop closer to home, they told me if there were any major repairs I would have to return it to where I bought it. I have recently tried to identify an awning light part number, Coachman won’t tell me and say talk to dealers, the local dealer although helpful just asked me to send photos so they can identify it, which I can do. My expectation would be that you can buy parts similar to that on a car. My overall impression is that customer service ends on the day you buy the caravan, not a good experience.
Coachman VIP 565 build issues
First Coachman VIP565 we’ve bought and already regretting my purchase. Habitation door a different colour white to the caravan side. Response from Wanderhome Knottingley is that other vans in their showroom seem to be the same. Coachman seem to fit a standard colour white door regardless of the van colour. This is totally unacceptable on an expensive van. Also the kitchen cupboard door above sink which is a lift up door won’t stay open and keeps falling to the closed position. The hinges don’t seem strong enough to keep the door open. Very poor design fault. There doesn’t seem to be any feedback/ recall from coachman regarding these items. It’s seems like “ keep your head down and people will go away”. They’ll lose out in the long run because I don’t regard them as a premium caravan anymore and expected better from them.

Terrible customer service on our 2022 Coahman Laser 575
We have a 2 year old Coachman Laser 575 . This was supposed to be our dream caravan ( having owned various Bailey’s , Elddis, in the past ). Have to say that Coachman have the very worst customer service ever . In fact it is non existent . Pointless contacting them at all really as you just get a very snooty woman telling you to “contact your dealer” .the caravan itself is lovely ( to look at) but we have had several issues including the lighting trim coming away from the roof, faulty awning light that flashes permanently and is unusable, faulty speakers , faulty radio, joint tapes coming loose , faulty lock on battery box cover ( had to break to get it open and Coachman wanted £130 to fix) we ended up buying a new lock and doing it ourselves for £7.70 with a lock from eBay and the latest which is the pump not working . We spoke to Whale (who have very good customer services ) who worked through the problem with us . We ended up buying a new Whale connector ( just to prove that the problem was within the caravan ) Coachman are not interested in the slightest and refused to discuss it at all “see your dealer” being their usual response . It feels like they are saying “we’ve had your thousands of £££££ so now you can go away” We are still waiting for a resolution but not holding our breath as it seems that coachman’s warranty is so limited it is almost non existent ! Thoroughly disappointed with Coachman and feel like their customers deserve better .
Coachman Caravan
Emailed Coachman, about who can complete their Warranties and Service (I'm in Yorkshire the van in Wales) - Phone back 1hr later they answered; Good so far. I'm moving from an Adria continental 22yrs old no issues no leaks, sad to see it go: to a new Coachman VIP 565 ES so I don't really want to pop down that far for warranty work. You can be sure I will report any good or bad experiences - I only report on Trustpilot and hopefully I can adjust my star rating if required. Fred.
Appalling customer service
Our Caravan showed a damp patch during its May service. Coachman were approached by the approved repair centre. No response from Coachman. Two months later water started pouring in at the front of the caravan. Coachman contacted again by both the repair centre and by us several times. No response initially and then we were told we had to take it back to the dealer we bought it from to be assessed and then again if and when approved for the work, in total 500 miles of motoring for people in their 70s. The dealer is not interested in doing the work and has told Coachman this.We have phoned and emailed non stop and nothing. Took our grandchildren away and had to wake them up in the middle of the night to mop around their heads. Apparently when the work is eventually, we hope, approved, parts take 10 weeks to come. Absolutely unbelievable customer service and we would never buy another Coachman and can see this is sadly not a one off but their standard aftercare.

Bought a brand new xcel caravan and the roof has completely been ruined in some wind,,,, this is really poor manufacturing and at the moment totally being ignored from them under warranty £46,000 caravan total rubbish and worst customer service ever. Just don't buy one and get a swift instead. Do not buy one
Their customer support is Shocking
Their customer support is Shocking. Bought a new Lusso 2 and as a new owner had a few questions on using certain items as manual not very clear. Just kept getting a response, we don't have a Technical Support department and to contact dealer. Dealer getting the run around form them as well. Terrible customer care for a new buyer. Beware if you have problems.
