What a fun experience it was to spend the afternoon at Cocoa Runners. Spencer was so great walking us through the history of chocolate and teaching us how to enjoy really well-made, craft chocolate. I'm looking forward to bringing friends and family for another tasting.

This was an evening well spent. Spencer spoke knowledgeably and clearly about the chocolate in front of us (and those that weren't) and although I am aware that the bulk chocolate companies are not making the best chocolate out there, it was very interesting to hear how the product is chemically manipulated so they can sell us what they want to sell. Always read the label; what does it tell you and what does it not tell you?
It was really informative. You will be quite surprised to hear about where some of your taste buds are!
We tasted shop chocolate as well as craft chocolate and it has changed my outlook enormously.
I honestly recommend you go along and hear what he has to say (and try some decent chocolate)

I paid for 24 hour delivery....it took 48 hours. Only an automated response from my email. No human contact.
I'm sure my daughter loved the chocolate, despite it arriving late. Luckily, there was someone who could take the package in.

I attended a group tasting event and found Nick Saxby to be incredibly knowledgeable about chocolate and a true crusader for craft chocolate (and rightly so). The history and economics of chocolate are subjects all discerning chocolate eaters should learn. I highly recommend you get educated by cocoa runners. Oh, I almost forgot. They have some amazing chocolate you cannot get from Cadbury, Mars, Nestle, or Hershey's....

Simply great. Really learnt a lot and came away feeling very informed about how to distinguish a quality product from the mass-produced rubbish.

The in person chocolate tasting was interesting, informative, entertaining, full of surprises and mostly delicious (there were a couple of exceptions to help us develop our tasting skills!) Highly recommended.

Probably one of the most entertaining evening I spent in a long time. The cocoa runners testing event for chocoholic. You are taken on an exploration of cocoa through history whilst tasting the most intriguing and exhilarating cocoa that can be. Thank you.

One * Experience of Cocoarunners was:

An order was placed on 21st October for over £200.

By 4th November absolutely no communication had taken place beyond immediate confirmation of order!
Credit card payment was immediately debited.

I contacted online and having heard nothing rang their 0344 number which runs for under 3mins before asking you to leave details - but no sign of a callback.

If this is the best they can do for Customer Relations, I begin to wonder if it is a going to go bust, especially having searched Amazon to find items show as unavailable.

The score was converted to 2* because they, after my experiences, topped up with several free bars. They blamed an erroneous product code had left my order unprocessed. Hope they make system/process improvements in light of this!

Interesting evening tasting chocolate. I would recommend it.

Cocoa Runners chocolate isn’t cheap but it’s a whole new world of amazing taste sensations.
The monthly box was a special treat started in lockdown but it is so good we couldn’t give it up and it has become part of our life - a wonderful addition to general well-being.
The chocolate is much too delicious to scoff so a box really does last a month - or longer. And the individual bars make great little gifts.

An extremely interesting and informative session about chocolate while tasting different chocolates.

Had a fabulous and informative time at last night's in-person chocolate tasting for British Sign Language users - it was great fun, and my palate received an awakening. The complexity of flavours mirrored that of wine. There's no going back to bog standard chocolate after this!

What a wonderful way to spend a wet July evening! My chocolate tasting box arrived really quickly after ordering and it was so exciting to see what was in it, and to book my online tasting session. (I had to resist the urge to eat any of it before the class - luckily they happen every week so I didn't have long to wait).
The online session was so enjoyable and informative about the world of chocolate and why buying craft chocolate with beans of known origin really matters. We were guided through tasting each of the different chocolate bars in our boxes and discovered why the velcro was in there too!
I attended alone but this would be a brilliant thing to do with friends and family, either in the same location or meeting up together in the Zoom room.

These guys have some of the most well known craft chocolates in their selection! And they taste every chocolate before selling it.

Very reasonably priced for the conservation efforts which buying these bars help with.

On top of that, their tasting sessions are great for all levels of chocolate lovers.

I loved the variety of chocolates
They get chocolates from all corners of the world
They love telling chocolate stories

I was welcomed with wine and tea. Plus I got to try 9 to 10 chocolates at the price of few. It helped me discover the kind of chocolates I like. Also, it got me interested in healthier darker chocolates (which I realised after the session, can be more tasty than other commercial chocolate).

Lastly, I think the chocolates they feature are absolute LUXURY BARGAIN. Cacao beans for these chocolates generally come from agro forests, are more expensive to grow; these bars have more cacao content (compared to cheaper ingredients like sugar and palm oil). And each chocolate bar has it's own story to tell

I highly recommend the tasting session at the least and hope more people get to experience this.

I had the chance to be invited to this incredible experience and it was delightful! I had a great time and the chocolate quality was amazing, only a few times before I have tried that chocolate quality. On the other hand Spencer was a fantastic host, I still can't believe all the knowledge he handles, was very impressive. He describes himself as a chocolate DJ, who only "plays" the best and he totally is. The experience was great, I really didn't know what to expect and now I totally recommend it.
