Difficult to make a claim
Their website is obstructive and very difficult to navigate. I've spent hours trying to start a claim but keep getting Verify images too small to see properly and being told my email address is "taken" so I cannot proceed. It's hopeless.
Travel Insurance claim by phone, paid out same day
Rather than complete online, I was able to deal with my travel insurance claim over the phone. It was easy and I only had to answer a few questions without providing supporting documentation. The advisor I dealt with was extremely helpful. My claim was only for a few hundred £s but I received the funds direct to my bank account later the same day. Great Service.
I made a totally straightforward claim…
I made a totally straightforward claim ( my father had a stroke 48 hours before my holiday and went on to die whilst I would have been away)
They denied having received paperwork. I had to make many calls. Sometimes the paper was miraculously found during the phone call.
They dragged their heels and made it as difficult as possible.
Once a formal complaint was launched, it was settled in a day, but that's what it took.
I accept that Collision were probably part of sorting out the mess and the Post Office insurance ( One star on Trust Pilot) were actually the cause of it, but they should investigate more thoroughly if they are responsible for overseeing such awful practice.
I appreciated the support provided…
I appreciated the support provided throughout the claims process. Keeping me regularly updated, explaining each step clearly, and making communication as straightforward as possible was very helpful to make the experience less stressful.
Overall communication was excellent throughout. Little stressful but the service was great thankyou.
What exactly does the question “under medical investigation” mean
My review is not about an insurance claim as I was told I was not in fact insured even though I had a policy. The issue boils down to the answer to a question “ are you under investigation for your declared medical condition?” I did not have an appointment for any medical investigation at the time of answering. I had been medically cleared to fly on holiday. I did have a second referral letter to get a specialist appointment. This apparently counted as being under investigation. An issue of semantics???? As far as I can recall this was not explained further at the time. I am pursing this issue and will take it to the Insurance Ombudsman. I need to be clear when taking out future insurance policies on what specific information I must provide.

I had to make a claim whilst away in Spain, I submitted the claim on Sunday morning.
On Tuesday I had an email stating all had been processed and payment would be made within 5 working days, an hour later the money was in my bank.
Fantastic service, definitely recommend SAGA travel insurance 100%.

I put my claim in 23rd March and heard yesterday it had been approved 12 weeks! I have chased them several times. Kept being told they were waiting for info from tour operator, when I called the tour operator they both times said they hadn’t heard from Saga! Found it all very stressful & very glad it has finally been approved.
The good thing was email said BAC’s payment would be 5 days but money in my a/c within 24hours.
If I could score this company a zero, I would!
If I could score zero, I would. Utterly shambolic. Worst customer service I have ever recieved. I have waited over eight weeks, had to chase multiple times, received zero updates from the company. And, when I have received contact, they've asked for information that I've already provided. Never ever, ever use this company!
Post office insurance (claim)
Everything was so easy and quick, claim response came in few days and money arrived on account too.
Definitely recommend everyone, 5☆ service
Online facility absolutely appalling
Saga online facility absolutely appalling. Hours spent trying to obtain my travel insurance policy certificate and then a weekend spent trying to make an 'easy 10 min' online claim. Didn't recognise my email, online chat wasn't working and kept coming up with the same unhelpful messages - with no one available to help! Would not recommend.
Saga Travel/Collinson Insurance Recommendation
I would highly recommend Saga Travel Insurance which is handled by Collinson. I unfortunately had to cancel a long awaited holiday owing to my mother in law passing away a few days before we were due to go on holiday. My claim was handled with the greatest sympathy and understanding and our claim was settled very quickly which meant we were able to book a much needed different holiday which we were able to go on after the funeral took place. Thanks very much for the efficiency and understanding of the Team at Collinson.
Great Experience
Mum/Mum-in-law died 3 days before holiday. Collinson's website for submitting claim was very user friendly. Claims handled sympathetically and paid within 10 days. A small glitch required a call to their call centre. This call was handled very sensitively and professionally by the agent.
A very professional company to do business with.
Very happy with the claims process
Very happy with the claims process! Quick and easy…. Money arrived in my bank account on the same day I claimed.
Awful experience from start to finish
Awful experience from start to finish, even when escalating claim to complaints, no communication, no continuity, no accountability - wasted a huge amount of time chasing up/following up
Have to predict an illness
Claim to ages to process.
Surprised that you have to predict an illness when taking out a policy!
Holiday Claim
Unfortunately we had to cancel our holiday through illness.
Our insurance claim with this company was handled very efficiently, smoothly and with great speed. Thank you very much Collinson Group, especially Faith.
Absolutely woeful service claim opened…
Absolutely woeful service claim opened on 7th April and still waiting, every single barrier has been put in front of us so far to delay/not pay out - insisting on pdfs for all documents in this day and age ?!
Very swift and efficient to take our money for the policy though
This firm are the worst I have ever…
this firm are the worst I have ever used, I strongly suggest you do not use them, why the Post Office use such a cowboy firm I do not know. They have done everything in there power to make it as difficult as possible to claim and been slower than a snail and I cant tell you how difficult they have been. My friend paid £11 and was paid out within weeks and here I am 5 months later still having to argue and justify something that's so obvious.
