Great frying pan
The box it was packed in could have used some additional packing material as my handle was poking out when it arrived. My second complaint is that no direction was included for the best way to season my pan. I had to research on the internet on how to proceed and the need to remove the protective coating that is applied to the pan for shipping. This would have been extremely helpful and would have saved considerable time. That being said it is a fantastic pan and I feel I will be very satisfied with my purchase.

The Matfer Bourgeat carbon steel frying pans I ordered are great. After seasoning them with potato peels, salt, and oil just once they developed a true patina. As Cooks Illustrated said, fried eggs slid around like the puck in an air hockey game. Excellent pan. The good folks at Cook's Direct got these wonder pans to me within 3 days of the order and at the best price on the Internet. I will definitely buy more, soon.

poor customer service
I ordered a pan from them and when it arrived, found out that it was much too heavy for me to use. I contacted them to send it back for a refund. They immediately replied that they would forward me a UPS label. That was a couple of weeks ago and I am still waiting..

Websire stated it would ship in 1 day. When I called to determine the status of the shipment 7 days later I discovered it had not shipped at that time. I asked for a manager to call me back only to receive an e-mail update stating that my order would ship that day.
