We came to Cottesmore restaurant for Mothers Day Sunday lunch as we’d had a lovely meal the year before however this time was a HUGE disappointment.
We all had roasts but the 3 pork loin steaks were pink thro the middle, when we raised this the waitress went off and came back saying they serve it “blush” and it’s totally safe to eat. My MiL won’t eat pink meat and I didn’t want my daughter to either so we asked for them to be cooked a little more. They did begrudgingly but when it was brought back there was no crackling or stuffing balls that it was supposed to come with it. (They hadn’t been eaten by us) I ordered the “Leg of lamb” which was 2 thin slices of lamb which for almost £24 was quite expensive. The veggies were over cooked too and you only got two long carrot slices and all meat was piled on top of a bland mush that I presume was the cauliflower cheese. When we returned home I checked the menu online and there was no mention of the pork being blush or that you weren’t getting an actual leg of lamb. The mothers being given cupcakes was a nice touch but sadly too little to late. So disappointing and we will not be returning.
Amazing spa facilities- so clean and well looked after. Great gym, sauna, steam room, pool and jacuzzi. Staff really friendly. Plenty of parking. A restaurant, hotel and golf course aswell!! 💜
We visited your restaurant on Sunday 15th September as a table of 7. Our roast dinner was amazing. We could not fault it, delicious cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, stuffing with any meat. The meat was picked to perfection. The only slight niggle was the potatoes as you can tell they are reheated as a little chewy but that didn't matter because everything else was so lovely. Even the waiter (I think his name was Kyle) was outstanding. Constantly smiling and couldn't do enough for you.
We returned two weeks later desperate to have another amazing roast but we were left so disappointed. The meat was a thick slab of beef with loads of thick grizzle on it, the Yorkshire puddings tasted burnt, there was no stuffing, no pigs in blankets and the cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower in a roux with a bit of melted cheese on top that was over done and burnt!
We were left really underwhelmed as the roasts are not cheap and after having such an amazing experience two weeks previously, we just couldn't believe how different it was.
I asked our waitress if it was a different chef to two weeks ago and she said quite possibly. I suggest you use the chef that you had working on the 15th September because the food was outstanding and will avoid further customer disappointment.
Excellent golf resort. All staff excellent in providing customers a comfortable and enjoyable break. Food is in the main very nice . We were a group of 16 golfers and on both nights the meals came out on time.
A special mention for Helen at breakfast and Luke in the bar who made us especially welcome.
Looking forward to coming again next August

I recently had the privilege of photographing a wedding at the Cottesmore Estate and I have to say, it was a truly magnificent experience. The stunning grounds and breathtaking views of the West Sussex countryside provided the perfect setting for the couple's special day. Whether the couple was looking for a small and intimate gathering or a larger celebration, the estate was capable of accommodating their needs.
The venue itself is a perfect representation of romance, peace, and style. The stunning grounds were a breathtaking backdrop for the couple's wedding vows and the multi-faceted function rooms offered a personalized touch to the theme of their big day. Whether the couple was hosting a small intimate reception or a larger party for up to 200 guests, the estate was equipped to handle it all.
The team at the Cottesmore Estate was incredibly helpful and accommodating. They were always on hand to guide the couple through their extensive options and tailor a package that was just right for them. The couple was able to relax and enjoy their day, knowing that everything was being taken care of by the knowledgeable and professional staff.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a romantic, peaceful, and stylish wedding venue, I would highly recommend the Cottesmore Estate. With its breathtaking views, stunning grounds, and multi-faceted function rooms, this venue truly has it all. And with the exceptional services from the team, you can be sure that your day will be one to remember for years to come.
