Thank you for excellent customer service

Thank you for your excellent customer service. We purchased 2 soft close toilet seats through B&Q but when 1 failed, customer service were extremely informative on the same day. The replacement was received within a couple of days through DPD. Your attention cannot be faulted. Thank you

I just refurbished my bathroom and I…

I just refurbished my bathroom and I had all the previous croydex portland range but in pine and it lasted years, so when my new bathroom was getting accessories my pine didn’t match so I purchased the full range again, i bought the toilet roll holder, soap dish, toothbrush holder, toilet roll holder, mirror, shelf, toilet seat and cabinet and it was not cheap, it cost £25 just for the toilet roll holder, absolutely scandalous but as my previous ones lasted so many years I thought in the long run it would be more cost effective. Purchased most of the items from Amazon and a couple from eBay that I couldn’t get. Every item I received from this range had dents, scratches and scrapes on them and the boxes were not open so the problem is not with the sellers but the manufacturer which is croydex. I did manage to exchange a couple of the items but they were the exact same, biggest disappointment was the mirror it looked perfect until I hung it and then took the film off and when the sun shone through the window I could see that the frame was not great either, the quality of the goods has went down but the prices are higher really disappointing and tbh they are never going to last even near as long as my last ones.

Firstly please accept our sincere apologies for only just replying as we have only just gained access to be able to reply to reviews.
I hope that you now have a suitable seat to fit your pan. All of seats come in varying sizes so we always recommend before removing the hygiene film to position the seat over your pan to ensure the shape and profile of the toilet seat matches your toilet pan. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further assistance and we will be more than happy to help.

Croydex VERY POOR QUALITY

Croydex used to be known for high quality bathroom fittings, which is why they're do expensive, but it's really gone downhill. When I bought my flat 14 years ago I had the bathroom redone and chose Croydex for the bathroom cabinet and loo seat. Since I replaced the loo seat a few years ago, I've had several of the same model and they all fall apart within a year. Same with the bathroom cabinet. Although it was perfect for 13 years in daily use, when it finally failed last year (one door hinge failed) and I replaced it with the same model, that had gone very obvious faults once it was installed: the mirror front has a chip in the corner on the inside (so it was damaged before it was glued to the door); the front edge of the bottom has a rash of sawdust flecks embedded in the coating (again a fault *during* manufacture); and within three months the base has bowed when all that's in it is mouthwash and deodorant, which wasn't too heavy for the previous one over many years! It is so frustrating as it's extremely fiddly to assemble and install - and I'd trusted the brand name. Be warned; Croydex is now making rubbish.

Standards going down the pan.

I too, bought a Croydex Eyre Soft Closing toilet seat. Cost me £41.00 from Screwfix. However, on installing the seat, I found that the slots in the heads of the securing bolts and the corresponding allen key were a slack fit with each other. In other words, the allen key kept slipping when inserted into the slot of the bolt heads and I began to tighten them. As a result, the bolts could not be sufficiently tightened. I then used my own allen keys, however, I had the same problem. The slots in the bolt heads are a bit too large. Furthermore, Croydex no longer supply the 2 steel washers that normally sit under the bolt heads - and prevent the bolts from damaging the plastic 'Flexi-fit' brackets. I telephoned Croydex and spoke to 'Ria,' (customer service), who informed me that she would pass on this information to the design team. I don't expect they'll do anything to rectify the matter. In any case, the bolts are made in their hundreds of thousands. Replacement bolts would be no better than the ones already supplied. As for 'Ria,' she was very pleasant. And, if Croydex think that I was using the wrong allen key, I can assure them that I wasn't (I served my time in engineering). Neither their own allen key (supplied with the toilet seat) nor my own were a good fit when coupled with the bolthead slots.

Croydex Eyre D-Shaped Soft Close Toilet Seat

I purchased the Croydex Eyre D-Shaped Toilet Seat - White from Argos for £41, which isn't cheap for a toilet seat in the market...
Less than 4 months later the soft close mechanism stopped working. Now the seat just slams shut.
I contacted Croydex through their website 15 days ago. They didn't reply.
Not imprssed, won't purchase their products again.
