Traversing the Atlantic on the Queen Mary 2 is an amazing experience and a way to switch off and relax. Arriving into NYC in the early morning and watching the sunrise over the skyline is an absolute... See more

Overall Cunard have a good balance.
Slow service everywhere
The most frustrating aspect of the cruise was the excessive noise coming from Suite 6155. We had returned to our Princess Grill Suite intending to enjoy a quiet evening on our balcony, read our books, and retire early. Instead, we were subjected to extremely loud music and noise that made our balcony completely unusable and destroyed any sense of peace and relaxation.
What made matters even worse was being told that this activity had been approved by Cunard Head Office. What was obvious, ex the group ex British Airways Staff were known to some of thr crew including the captain. If Cunard knowingly authorises events that will significantly impact neighbouring suites, surely affected guests should be informed beforehand. We paid a premium for a Princess Grill Suite and private balcony experience. Had we known that our enjoyment of that space would be compromised, we could have made different arrangements or at least managed our expectations.
The proposed solution of moving us to a sleeping room elsewhere on the ship was frankly unacceptable. Why should guests who have paid for premium accommodation be inconvenienced because Cunard has chosen to host an event that disrupts the enjoyment of their suite? The inconvenience should not fall on the paying guests.
While our suite itself was clean, bright, and comfortable, there were still small details that seemed overlooked. Only one footstool was provided for two balcony chairs, limiting comfort for couples wishing to enjoy the balcony together. The bathroom was also surprisingly cramped for a suite of this category.
The Princess Grill Restaurant was another disappointment. Although the venue is attractive and the food quality was generally good, service was consistently and noticeably slow. Waiting 15–20 minutes for attention became commonplace, whether ordering drinks, requesting wine service, or simply trying to attract a member of staff. The restaurant appeared understaffed, and this had a significant impact on the overall dining experience.
Several meals also arrived warm rather than properly hot. We returned one dish for reheating, but on other occasions decided not to because we simply did not want to add further delays to an already lengthy dining experience.
What concerns us most is that many of these issues were avoidable. Better communication, more consideration for affected guests, and improved staffing levels would have prevented much of the frustration we experienced.
We already have another Cunard cruise booked and sincerely hope this voyage was an exception rather than an indication of declining standards. However, this experience has undoubtedly shaken our confidence in the level of service and guest care that we have long associated with the Cunard brand.
Outstanding holiday
Outstanding holiday, staff were attentive and polite, food and service was second to none. If you havn't cruised before would recommend Cunard.
Why cruise when you can Cunard..... so true!!
We travel in Princess Grill on Queen…
We travel in Princess Grill on Queen Mary 2. The restaurant staff is very attentive and the service polished but on our Queen Elizabeth Alaska cruise 2-11 June 2026 the staff seemed hurried or unorganized and service a bit off, not polished as we are used to seeing.

Had a great family cruise experience on the Cunard Queen Elizabeth. Highly recommend. Our cruise went to Alaska and Victoria Canada and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this cruise. The crew and the food and service was phenomenal!!
Excellent overall experience
Great ship, excellent service, good balance of formal and informal
It's like traveling back in time …
It's like traveling back in time to a golden age. Polite interactions with other guests and dressing for dinner. In addition there is absolutely fabulous food and service.
Horrible Customer service experience
Embarkation at Southampton was a devastating experience. No Cunard ship staff at check-in, only third party ground staff with zero service skills, uninterested , totally incompetent in helping customers. When help was requested to sort visa , staff disappeared to make personal phone call . Shocking experience. Sailing time was brought forward by an hour without prior notice on the day of departure , which meant the paperwork issues which were resolved for the new departure time enabled ground staff to deny us boarding on a lifetime cruise experience and threatened us with being removed by security! They told us the ship had gone when it was still fully moored on the dock . Refusal to contact onboard staff / officers to allow boarding. Cunard offered no assistance on accommodating an alternative
What a wonderful experience
What a wonderful experience! We celebrated evenings of fine dining, and the beautiful landscapes of Alaska. The service was so personalized. It was amazing. Anton in the dining room, went out of his way to please us. He remembered our names, likes and dislikes, even de-shelled our lobster for my wife, amazing service! Paul, the cocktail server, also attention to detail was amazing. Knowing and having our drinks ready upon arrival with out even needing to confirm our choice.
Wonderful cruise on QE to Alaska
Had a wonderful experience on the Queen Elizabeth sailing to Alaska. The crew were absolutely outstanding; ship was beautiful; food delicious (with lots of options); and great ports of call/excursions. Appreciated the care that went into supporting one person in our party who had dietary restrictions/allergies. Would have loved another day or two at sea (we were on the 9 night sailing).

Just disembarked a Cunard Queen Mary Two voyage the ship itself is absolutely timeless and elegant. Food was really superb. Made you feel really special. Would definitely recommend hundred percent.
Cunard Celebration
Another excellent trip with Cunard on board Queen Anne. We were treated like royalty in exquisite surroundings, food was fabulous with always plenty of choice, stateroom was spotlessly clean and serviced twice per day. My Mum's 93rd birthday was acknowledged and celebrated by all staff we came into contact with, making her feel like a Queen herself!

Just returned from a 5 night on QM2 and as always everything was perfect. Cunard staff are just always on top of everything, nothing is left to chance. Have another 2 on Mary this year and she is the most beautiful way to travel. Also 4 next year with Cunard and will not be trying any other cruise company because nothing could be better than Cunard.
Cunard are excellent
Cunard are excellent, we have been on a number of cruise lines over the past decade, Cunard are still the best at everything they do and value for money. Whilst there have been a few cut backs since Paul Ludlow took over nothing like what had happened to P&O

First time Cunard traveller- definitely not the last!
We booked an Eastbound Transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2, to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary in style, in a Queens Grill Suite. We had never sailed with Cunard before (although had 4 cruises with other lines under our belt), and we now cannot envisage ever sailing with anyone other than Cunard! The whole experience was just outstanding - the iconic ocean liner QM2 was magnificent in every way, the staff were ALL outstanding and made us feel so special- especially on our “big day”, and the food was exquisite. I’m keeping this short because otherwise I would be here all day waxing lyrical! Suffice to say I highly recommend Cunard and can’t wait to experience my next Queen! Ps top tip- book the Behind the Scenes Tour as soon as you board. It absolutely blew our minds and made us appreciate the crew even more. (Note - it is 3 hours long and involves a LOT of walking /standing, but if you are able, it’s an absolute must do. And at the end you get champagne, sandwiches, cakes and a Q&A session with the captain!)
Service, food, ambience was fabulous
From start to finish the voyage, service & food was exceptional.
I’m not a person to go cruising but if I do it will definitely be on Cunard
A trip to remember
Cunard provided the highest level of service throughout the ship but especially in the main restaurants. The ship was well appointed, spotlessly clean and easy to get around.
Everything was so easy!
Everything was so easy! At our ages (80+) we weren’t sure about another cruise, but Cunard was the perfect choice! Embarkation, a snap! Our first dinner was excellent! (As were all meals during the cruise)
Celebrating our anniversary by taking Cunard to Alaska was perfect, and we splurged booking a Queens Grill suite, which was worth the extra $$. At the Queens Grill, our servers Glorio & Misra were attentive and speedy.
Alaska was spectacular, snow covered mountains and charming villages, wildlife everywhere. We enjoyed the scenery so much, the air seems so clean and refreshing.
Again, Cunard made debarking easy as can be, and with many taxis available we got to Seattle Union Station in 20 minutes. Bravo Cunard!!!
