No issue, good mobile app, good for students

A great card for students to start building credit!
This card is pretty cool to start with if you don't have a credit history. You don't need to pay a deposit, it has rewards on every purchase and no annual fees. It also includes Amazon Prime Student for a year and cell phone protection. They doubled my credit line after just 3 months of use!
On the other side, I've found the mobile app glitchy at times and the website outdated (once you login). It only reports to two of the three major credit bureaus (according to NerdWallet) and it's not well supported among finance apps like NerdWallet and Mint.
Overall, I like this card.

I am a college student. Deserve was the first credit card that accepted me. I have been very happy with them, especially the automatic payments and the notifications once a transaction has happened. It's helped me build credit and has a super easy app which has also helped me learn more credit and how it's calculated. Overall great company and card.

I like Deserve. Overall, it’s been a really good card for a student. However, it doesn’t allow syncing to any kind of budgeting software, like Mint, which makes it inconvenient to use for everyday purchases, and I primarily rely on my other card because of that.

Put Deserve on platforms like Mint and Marcus by Goldman Sachs. It is hard to manage budgets without Deserve being available on these platforms.

I changed my checking account, though I forgot to change the information for auto pay on my credit cards. So all my payment returned. The interesting section of this story was that all credit cards waive "RETURNED PAYMENT FEE" except Deserve. I called Deserve customer service multiple times but they cared about my case unprofessionally and never waived my first returned fee. After that, I barely used my Deserve card and prefer to use my other credit cards that value their customers.

An average credit card. The cashback is only given in $25 increments (meaning one must spend $2,500) in order to get cash back which is annoying. With a Credit Limit of $800, it is difficult to get cashback.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the ease of using deserve student card. No other service could have made my life easier as deserve did.
My only difficulty is the time taken for reflection of credit balance after the payment.

Taking out one star from full score only because their cashback system only allows to get the credit in 25$ increment and only as statement credit (not really "cash").
Overall is a good card that I suggest to every international student in the US: get this and the other very popular one (name starts with D too), use them consistently and pay in full each month for 6 month and you'll end up with a high credit score that allows you to graduate to more rewarding (i.e. traveling) credit cards.

Really good for intl students

you guys are the backbone for the international students but on the other hand I also made payments on time. just one more request please increase my limit though ....

This is the best credit card for an international student who is new to the country, has no SSN or any source of income. Moreover, it gets you 1% cashback and also one year of Amazon Prime membership, which is amazing. The card looks really cool to carry. The card works like any other MasterCard credit card and so far, there have been no issues with card acceptance. The company also helps in building credit score once your SSN arrives.

Overall, this card is at par with any other credit card you would get for a good credit score in terms of cashback. I am highly satisfied with it and couldn't ask for anything more.

I applied for the Deserve EDU Mastercard and was denied. As a student entering a Master’s degree program this card came highly recommended. I have never had a credit card before but my credit is fair/good depending on which CB you ask (649-691). This card is marketed as a great card to start building credit because it does not require a credit history but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The only derogatory marks I have on my report are for how young my accounts are and for not having any credit cards (the irony). Even so, they rejected my application citing an “inability to pay” as the reason. Clearly they are not being honest about something because (1) I work full-time making more than the average college student, and (2) college students don’t make very much money in the first place. I wrote this review to hopefully save some people time and heartache. It’s unclear to me whether they pulled a hard check yet but from what I’ve read in other reviews I should expect a hit to my credit soon. Please do yourself a favor and pass on this card. I highly recommend looking somewhere else. Have a great day all! (*Note: their online application interface is slow and buggy)

For an international student with no credit history in the US. There is no better credit card than Deserve. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise!
