Everything was easy in a few clicks. You are great. Thank you.
Easy transaction very strait forward
The site was easy to navigate
The site was easy to navigate. However, when I went to pay, the total fee did not match the options I had chosen. I had to go back to the beginning and re-input my choices, and then the total fee was accurate. Otherwise, the website was a breeze.

Great prices, website not easy.
Great prices and cancelable ferry tickets.
Not the easiest site to change times of ferries.

Excessive booking fee
Excessive booking fee. Taken twice as I booked for two cyclists. Not happy.

Easy to book
It's was very straightforward to book.
It's was very straightforward to book.
The only thing preventing a full five stars is the slightly vague telephone number box.
Because I had to select "+44" for the country, it was unclear whether to enter the full number or miss off the initial "07".

I downloaded the app but couldn't access it. At first I tried email and password using password from a few years ago, it wouldn't let me use that as it didn't have all characters needed. I tried to rejoin with new password which it accepted but wouldn't let me actually use to access the site. No contact details other than I finally got to a email chat who h told me how to access with booking ref but didn't help with password issue.

A very pleasant crossing (a smooth sea helped), exceptional facilities, everything spotlessly clean and well organised. The only downside, and I realise this is absolutely nothing to do with the ferry company, but the extended wait for passport control was totally unacceptable.
Easy process.
Simple and efficient process to find the most appropriate crossing and to book and pay.
It was fine.

V. frustrating process to apply ticket changes
Extremely frustrating process to apply ticket changes despite flexible fare.
Having booked a flexible ticket in Jan 2026 for August 2026 travel, I wanted to apply some changes.
First problem - no telephone based customer service anymore.
Second problem - initial response via website was a £0 charge to change, subject to ferry company confirmation - no problem with that. However, then a barrage of 3 emails in rapid succession, asking for progressively higher amounts for the adjustments and no clear confirmation my acceptance was being processed. Each with minimal information and all massively frustrating. Lodged a query with customer support and thought it was sorted out following a number of emails, but...
Third problem - despite having all my changes clearly listed in an email FROM customer support, which I agreed to, including adding a named, additional outbound passenger, when I received the amended confirmation, the passenger had not been added. Cue another series of emails.....
Fourth problem - despite a prior email from Direct Ferries listing all the required changes (including the extra passenger) and the total cost, I was then asked to pay an additional amount to have the passenger added. Despite sending the clear and unambiguous full cost and details from Direct Ferries back to them, to show the extra passenger had been included in their itemised list, there was no shift in stance from their side.
That struck me as unfair. I cancelled my booking and rebooked directly with the ferry operator (at a modestly lower fare). Will be booking directly with the operator in future. And by the way, that ferry operator has a phone line for customer service.
