Quite possibly the most appalling app…

Quite possibly the most appalling app available today.

Whoever the product manager is for the Discovery+ app should be ashamed of themselves. It is leaps and bounds behind every other streaming app I use.

The home screen is always occupied by suggestions for apps I have never watched or wanted to watch.

The 'continue watching' feature always gets it wrong, playing either a previous episode or jumping back to the start of the episode rather than picking up where I left off.

Playback is frequently interrupted by adverts for programs that you have no interest in and will never watch, and you can't even pay to get rid of them.

When the app forces you to update (you can't skip, you have to update or it won't open), you'll find that when you sign in again your subscription is unavailable. Once I resolved that, the app decided that I wanted everything in the Bulgarian language by default.

If you want to find a program that you watch frequently, you'll not find it in search history, you'll have to find it from scratch each time you want to watch,

Programs that you do watch will have series missing. For example, you can watch Wheeler Dealers Season 1, but Seasons 2 and 3 are nowhere to be seen, you have to go straight to Season 4.

If you use multiple devices, don't expect the app to remember your preferences or show history between devices.

In summary, you can usually a find way to use the app to watch what you want, but it won't be easy.

What have you done to the apps in the update?.

It's horrendous!!!! .

I loved the last layout, I could go to "my list"and it was super easy to get to the show I wanted to watch,now it's like spinning the freaking wheel of fortune to scroll to the list.

Absolutely shocking!

Surely this isn't progress.

I love a lot of the shows but this is making me think about cancelling subscription that I've had for years.

Apps updated, looks good to be fair, paid the non refundable £3.99… ADS IN EVERYTHING, begging of a show ADS 3 times in the show a set of 5 ADS!

Updated App - Useless.

Updated App.
Went onto my discovery plus app today which has been updated.
Much more difficult to use. As you use your remote to negotiate the screen, nothing highlights to let you know which program you are accessing. You need to count 1 down, 3 across etc, then it's infuriating if you have misjudged it. You watch the 'wheel of doom' only to discover you have selected the wrong program and need to repeat. Also an existing series you are watching does not have the line that indicates you have watched a particular episode. Highly annoying.
Considering we pay for this app, at the very least it should be user friendly.

Do Not Subscribe to Greedy greedy Discovery+/TNT

I was at first appalled and shocked by the massive hike in price from £6.99 per month to £33.00 this alone is an extremely high rise in price but to add a further injury to this disgraceful hike in price, they have the nerve to call it premium and the bombard you with constant adverts with very short time in between, you therefore miss all commentators comments because this is when they choose the time to bombard you with advertising and to add further injury to this extortionate pricing the adds as well as being far too often they're extremely repetitive and predominantly business related i.e. targeted towards business owners. I wanted to watch Laver cup and one of my favourite parts of Laver cup is the team cams so you can hear strategies and team members encouraging other team members but none of that can be seen any longer as this when TNT and discovery are running the adds, so every three games of tennis you get adds there was even a few times last night where a game was missed because of the adds running. I feel like I paid £33+ to help Discovery+/ TNT to advertise I'm absolutely disgusted and will never subscribe to Discovery+/TNT ever again what an absolutely greedy streaming platform don't waste your money it isn't worth it. I'd have given no stars if I had that option

Had to buy to watch Veulta

Had to buy to watch Veulta.
Over 15 mins of adverts in the highlights.
Very unstable platform.
Very slow navigation. Go too fast and whole app resets.
Poor value for money.
Shame Tour de France is going over next year.
Wrote this in an advertisement break!!!!!

Greedy money grabbers!!!!

As a massive fan of cycling I’ve been utterly horrified at the transparent level of sheer greed by this company! Hiking our subscription by over 300% and throwing all sports together in the same package as justification is a DISGRACE!!
I’ve no interest in watching any other sports OR paying over £30 a month to continue watching cycling!
They have damaged British cycling massively with this disgusting stunt!!!
SHAME ON YOU!!!!

The price hike from £6.99 p.m to over…

The price hike from £6.99 p.m to over £30.00 alone was a shocking and disgraceful move. I then subscribed to discovery plus Germany (which came at £6.63 p.m.) and used NORD VPN to access it. This worked well for many months before out of the blue it stopped working and error code 483 came up. Had an online chat about this with eventually a "human" at discovery plus. However thus led to no solution. She said, that discovery plus does not work with VPNs, despite me telling her it did (at least in the past). She just referred me to the discovery support site again and again. Regarding my now former access to German discovery plus streaming service via VPN she only commented "that sometimes unexpected things happen".What a cheek!!! I would not recommend this streaming service at that high price and as others mentioned the amount of adverts, to anyone.

Absolute garbage, terrible streaming, constantly saying it doesn't have internet connection and losing coverage, endless adverts every 10 minutes just at the wrong time and missing important parts of live action and the huge 500% price increase, absolute avoid these useless morons

Bloody adverts!!…

Sick of the frequent barrage of adverts. It's completely unnecessary & just plain greedy of the company to be utilising them, especially as I'm already paying additionally for this service! ... It is getting worse & has been infringeing more & more on my viewing as time has gone on (customer for a few years). Really sick of it now!

Don’t waste your time and money.
I Paid £32.00 to try.
The adverts are a continuous repetition. I was watching Paul Zhan and after just 6 minutes the adverts came on!! What a joke!
I cancelled immediately, Netflix basic package £5.99 includes ads. The ads on Netflix are not frequent and the longest ads break is 30 seconds. Ditch discovery it’s rubbish!!

Slow and full of ads

The platform is very slow, browsing takes ages. The programmes buffer frequently and at times a section keeps repeating, and I have to forward the video to skip it. There are more and more ads, and instead of one or two at a time, sometimes I get 5, 4 of which are the same. It’s becoming unwatchable.

Shoddy service that costs you £32 per month

Firstly, their TV app for LG is appalling. It's so incredibly slow, and some pages don't even load at all.

Secondly, their phone app won't cast content to Chromecast when it's just recently been uploaded to the app, even though you can watch in the app. Such a strange issue that I've reported many times and obviously they've done nothing about.

Thirdly, there have been many occasions where they've not uploaded a highlights show to their app despite loading every other one, and again when I raise this they do nothing. This happens with cycling that I've seen.

e.g. The Tour de France, the biggest cycling event and something TNT brags about having full access to. They upload 1h highlights to the app for each stage, but they miss out the final stage (21)?!?!? It's utterly incredible that a major platform like that, which costs £32 per month, can get away with it. I've raised complaints, complained on "X", tried emailing Discovery, and they just say "thanks for your feedback" and don't actually resolve it. Why is it so hard to just upload the damn highlights show? Unreal.

Don't do it!

Don't do it!! Honestly such a shame as this platform has some awesome TV shows I would love to binge. Unfortunately this company are super greedy, money grabbing. It is advert after advert, every 5 minutes! I can honestly say we have ended up watching more adverts than the TV show itself. Not...worth it...I have been in contact multiple times and I get the same BS corporate response. Shame!
