Very nice helpful people

This was a warranty repair from John Lewis.

Richard first came to my house to diagnose the issue which he quickly figured out, ordered the part and came back to repair the TV a week later with Terry.

Top guys, very polite and nice people, would definitely recommend.

Horrible Unprofessional Company Refusing Refund

I sent in my damaged camera for a repair and received a quote back for the work. I paid in full. The next day I received an apology text from DKAVS' unmonitored no-reply number saying they are sorry but one of the parts for my repair was backordered and would not be available for over 2 months. I called them and explained that 2 months was too long for me to wait, and had I known the repair would take so long I simply wouldn't have accepted the repair quote. I asked to cancel the repair, have my money refunded and please return my camera. I spoke to ANDY in the camera department and he was quite straightforward, said of course he would cancel the repair, sent the refund request to the accounts department, and promised on a recorded line I would have my refund processed that day by 17:00. The refund never came through. I followed up in writing to several people in the company, reiterating my request for a cancellation and refund - and never received a single reply via email. I called several times and was passed about by various employees. I finally spoke with a man named ROBERT who refused on a recorded line to disclose his surname or job title. He accused me of "harassing his staff" by trying to seek the status of my refund, and said he was putting a "hold" on my refund being processed until he was assured by Panasonic that they would accept the returned parts DKAVS had ordered for my camera repair. I reasoned that his transaction with Panasonic Spare Parts department was not my liability. I had paid for a repair which I expected to be dispatched within days, and it wasn't until I'd paid that DKVAS changed the repair time to end of summer (August 22nd). I am well within my consumer rights to cancel a service when the terms of the agreement have changed after payment.
Robert was argumentative, belligerent, abusive and needless to say at no point did he dare apologise for my experience, the delay with my repair, or the hassle that I had to undergo to chase the status of my refund, which I was promised by DKAVS would have processed the prior week by 17:00 close of business.
It has now been over a week and I have finally received my camera back from DKAVS. It is untouched and has not been repaired. Yet DKAVS still refuse to refund my payment for the repair.
I have raised this incident with Panasonic UK recommending they immediately open a review of this business as their authorised repair company. I have recommended that ROBERT needs urgent job training to help him meet the demands of his role in customer service.
I will avoid this company in future and urge anyone with a Panasonic repair to not make any payments until they have confirmation in writing for the availability of the parts and a firm repair date. I have been completely misled and now embezzled by this company and have suffered great distress at the time I've had to spend chasing them for this refund, which to date is still outstanding.

DKAVS review

I was referred to this company via John Lewis, due to my parents extended warranty on their television. Despite five previous attempts to fix their television, by a well known failed company based in Essex.

Fortunately, my parents received exceptional professionalism and service from Paul. He was fast and efficient, in his approach and repair. I cannot recommend him and his company more!

Great Service, Knowledgable Staff

I recently had a warranty repair of my LG OLED TV, bought through John Lewis. DKAVS was called out to diagnose the issue and perform the repair. The engineer knew fairly quickly what the issue was, and placed the relevant parts on order. It's worth noting that I've had problems with this TV from day one, so having the reassurance that he knew what might fix it was worth a lot to me.

The parts arrived in short order, but because I was travelling, it was necessary to reschedule the follow-up a couple of time. The team was very accommodating, and it was no trouble to find a date that finally worked for us. When the new engineer came out to install the parts, he was also very competent, and performed the repair quickly. The whole repair took less than an hour, and so far, I've had no issues. Very impressed with the professional service, and would highly recommend them.

Excellent service

Excellent service. DKAVS replaced the lens of my Lumix DC TZ90 camera. They were communicative throughout the process and all staff I dealt with face to face, by telephone and over the Internet were very friendly and helpful. The repair was done quickly and a fair price charged. Extremely happy with the service I received.

Wonderful team

Sent them my Lumix fz82 as it was not functioning properly. Turned out it was my fault. I must have inadvertantly hit a button that changed the function. DKAVS quickly found the problem and reset it to normal. Returned camera quickly without charge, just the postage cost. Every one there is so helpful

Dreadful service from DK AVS

Dreadful service from DK AVS. My Lumix camera which had a well known fault was sent for a warranty repair. They said it was normal, no fault found and wanted to charge over £23 to return it to me. Panasonic ended up paying this. I returned it to John Lewis and they immediately saw the fault and refunded me in full. Beware, read the bad reviews this firm on here and Google.

No spare parts writes off my almost new Panasonic camera.

My 2 year old camera has sat on their shelf for 9 months…… no spares so £350 of camera is scrapped due to lack of a 10p plastic ring to go around the shutter button.

Camera was working fine but they say it has signs of water inside so beyond economic repair …..asked them just to fix the missing shroud for the shutter button but they now say 9 months since they put it on the shelf that the manufacturer has discontinued it so spares have run out.

So frustrating. … they are the manufacturers rep so no one else to get parts from.

I will never buy Panasonic lumix again….fragile camera and poor aftercare service.

DKAVS have responded below….. sadly I disagree with the way they feel. I can’t find their very last paragraph on the original email trail about my option to consult Panasonic.

It seems that in fact as there was an indication of water having got past the battery case seal they would not repair it under any circumstances, which also was not said before.

Date of manufacture bears no correlation to the date it was sold …. I bought it from a very large uk retailer and it was just about 2 months out of their 2 year warranty when I sent it for repair.

My experience remains poor….. apologies to them if they feel offended by my view.

OUR RESPONCE to your email: 31St Aug 23 at 14:14

Hi David
I checked my mail as below and as you can see there is only today’s mail, my email auto archives data when it’s over 6 months old, not sure where it was sent?
image001.png

I checked your repair and it was booked out as unrepairable due to fluid damage. An email was sent on the 1st Feb 23 I have included a screen grab of the history for your help

I have just re-uploaded to our website as data is deleted after 40 days, if you can follow the link below

YOU SENT: 31st Aug 23 at 14:29
Thanks,

basically the email question i sent was “ understanding that you feel it may have water ingress but is the plastic button surround shroud available as a part.

I don’t think any water actually got into the camera innards as it was fully operational and still taking pictures ( on land) but without the button surround to retain the shutter button clearly it is not usable underwater as the shutter button would just fall out.

OUR RESPONCE: 31st Aug 23 at 14:55
Hi David
The camera has water ingress most cases of water damage is entry by the battery door when its opened and may not be closed properly therefore can leak, we are unable to provide a reliable cost-effective repair the charge is only for return costs of your camera there is no labour value (free of charge)

I hope this helps

YOU SENT: 31st Aug 23 @ 20:36
Hi Dave….. are you saying there is no way to just replace the shutter button surround ?

OUR LAST RESPONCE AT 12:23 1ST Sept 23
Hi David
In the modern world we live as products get older Manufacturers mark as end of life, once a product is ceased production spares are also ceased and the store of these depletes I.E end of life, so in answer to your question no we cannot obtain the shutter button even if the camera did not have fluid contamination.
I suggest to visit our web make a choice from the options we provide.

If you feel unhappy to our finding PLEASE do contact Panasonic they are always helpful, we can only report on what we find, fluid ingress in any amount leads to a repair being unreliable to safeguard a customer in these cases we will not even try to effect a repair, please also consider that all spares - support is controlled by in this case Panasonic if part(s) are not available I am sure you will understand there is little a repair agent can do other than advise the customer of which we did within 1 working day of arrival, for whatever reason we did not receive any responce on our received email.
I hope this clarifys the situation.
Regards
Robert

Hi David
If I can respond re two points
"So frustrating. … they are the manufacturers rep so no one else to get parts from"
Fully understood, there are many cameras we would love to repair but sadly when a Manufacturer stops spares for a given model there is nothing any of us can do about it and we see far to many orders return with spares no longer available.

In regard of the second point re 2 months out of warranty, please can you send a copy of your purchase receipt to Lumix-Pro email I will arrange for it to be sent to Panasonic with the repair request date asking possability of goodwill, I cannot confirm they will but when a product is two months outside of warranty it is an accepted request
Robert
