Yet again another easy process from Liverpool airport, and Gareth is so helpful.
Wouldn’t dream of using another hire car firm, looking forward to the next time,

I rented a car in Manchester city centre, ISA was great from start to finish, superb service, good quality cars.

This is a con. Our flight was delayed and we waited 30 minutes for the bus to take us to the rental office (this is normal) because we were more than 59 minutes late we were recorded as a no show. We arrived within the two hour slot they talk about in their reply but were definitely told we had been recorded as a no show. They did offered us a new rental at 2.5 times the price of the original one. There was another lady in exactly the same position. Avoid this company.

Smooth booking, completely satisfied. I did however have to get a uk mobile number to finish the booking. Price seems very reasonable.

Unfortunately, my experience with Drivalia Glasgow Airport was very disappointing, mainly because I was given incorrect and contradictory information that ended up costing me money.
I specifically asked the branch manager what I should do because I needed to return the car before 8am for an early flight. I was categorically told that this was not possible because the branch did not open until 8am and that there was no other option. Relying on that information, I changed my travel plans, booked accommodation and returned the car the previous evening rather than keeping it until the end of my rental.
When I returned the car, however, I spoke to a Drivalia driver who told me that customers with early flights can in fact leave their vehicles at the airport outside normal opening hours, even during the night, and Drivalia collects them once the branch opens. This was exactly the solution I had originally asked about, yet nobody told me it existed. Had I been given accurate information, I would not have needed to change my plans or return the vehicle early.
There was further confusion over the branch hours. On the evening I returned the car I was told they were closing at 9pm, yet the branch was still operating after 9:15pm and the published closing time appeared to be 10pm. It left me with very little confidence in the information being provided to customers.
I was also charged for 154 excess miles. My agreement states an allowance of “100 Miles Per Day”, but my rental ran from 8 August until 16 August, covering nine calendar dates, while Drivalia calculated my allowance as only 800 miles. The agreement describes the booking as eight rental days, so I have asked Drivalia to explain clearly how a “day” is defined for mileage purposes, as the mileage clause itself does not make this clear.
The frustrating part is that this could have been avoided simply by giving me accurate information when I asked. I don’t expect special treatment from a rental company, but I do expect staff — particularly a manager — to understand their own return procedures and provide reliable information when a customer is making travel arrangements around it.
I have now submitted a formal complaint and asked Drivalia to investigate the incorrect advice, explain the mileage calculation and reimburse the costs I incurred as a result. I hope they deal with it constructively. The company could significantly improve the customer experience by ensuring staff give consistent information about opening hours and out-of-hours returns and by making these procedures much clearer to customers at the time of rental.
By they way when I said that I’m not completely happy with this service and probably won’t come back, the manager said ‘that’s fine’.

I picked up the car at Liverpool Airport and returned it at Leeds Bradford Airport. I strongly advise against Drivalia UK. Right from the start, there is aggressive pressure to buy extra insurance, using scare tactics about absurd liabilities and limits just to squeeze more money out of you.
If you decline their insurance, they look for anything upon return. The company hands over cars with concealed or poorly documented pre-existing damage, and then charges your card by entering wrong part codes in their system. In my case, they logged a minor scratch on a plastic wheel arch trim as structural damage to the steel B-pillar. When I submitted a formal complaint with their own photos, staff actually tried to convince me that the B-pillar is located... at the back of the car above the wheel. No comment.
The airport transfer is another story entirely. In Leeds, they drop you off at the terminal in the exact same car you just returned. It doesn't matter if you are traveling as a group of five—one person can just walk to the terminal on foot, which is clearly no big deal for Drivalia. The guy who inspected the vehicle not only seemed completely fed up with his job, but while driving us back, he drove as if he were transporting a load of potatoes rather than human beings.
Avoid at all costs! If you really must use this company, take thorough photos upon pickup and make sure you have your own standalone excess protection insurance.

I will not use Drivalia again, from start to finish my experience was stressful. Before pick up I received an email from Carjet urging me to purchase excess insurance for approximately £55, telling me this same insurance would cost over £200 at the counter, in fact it was over £300, I declined. The excess I'd bought from Carjet was useless. The counter staff was unfriendly, it was 9pm and dark. I was shown where the marks were on the car in a picture and asked if this could be emailed to me, confirmed. I never received a copy despite emailing Drivalia following morning, after attempting to phone, I was put on an endless loop each time I called. There was no water in the screen wash and the warning light came on indicating the tyres needed air, all on day one. My credit card was blocked £1,500 and it is still blocked one week later. Drop off went smoothly enough but I had no confidence in this Stansted company so was worried not having had an illustration of any marks/dings. I was with my granddaughter aged 19 at pick up and she commented 'he wasn't very nice!' I don't like reporting or reviewing staff but it makes such a difference to be spoken to in a friendly professional manner. I can't recommend Drivalia and PLEASE unblock my credit card.
In reply to your response - it's your website but fyi
I CANNOT use the portal, it is closed after car returned.
KINDLY UNBLOCK my credit card, it is now over a week.

I was looking for a car to hire on a trip back to UK from Spain, I usually use SIXT at Gatwick North, but took a look at the Drivalia Website. A little box popped up and "Jay" asked if I needed help, he was so helpful, polite and clear I decided to use Drivalia for the first time there

I hired a car through Zest (who were superb and not to blame here) and chose Drivalia for my 25th wedding anniversary special trip to Perthshire. On arrival at the desk, we were 'served' by 'Harry' who decided that as my booking was in a shortened form of my full name, a £35 admin fee was immediately charged. I thought he was joking - he was not. He then instructed us on all the things we would be liable for, even though he knew, and we knew, we took every available additional insurance cover via Zest, and would not stop until we listened to it and refused to listen to the fact we were covered via Zest. He was extremely unfriendly. I asked him for his surname and he refused to give it. Zest tried to get the money reimbursed but they said no. Each time I go to Glasgow and find hire car companies awful. Enterprise is the only one that is better although Arnold Clark is our next trial. Never again with Drivalia
