The best Technical University of Denmark in the whole world, but not everything is in harmony
A beautiful university with an amazing library and modern facilities. A downfall is standard of the accommodation though, which are also quite a walk away from the main building. Also, not many local shops around.
Stay as far away from DTUs PhD programme as you can. It is a disaster. You will be slaving 60-70 hours a week for low wage for at least 4 years, and only maybe you will pass. A lot of people drop out. If you drop out you will be regarded as a failure. Even IF you finish, many people have a hard time finding jobs afterwards. All the statistics DTU is showing is a hoax. People get short temporary contracts at DTU just so the employment statistics for PhDs look good. When you apply for a job in the private sector with a PhD you are actually worse off since the hiring managers will most likely not have a PhD and will feel threatened by you. A PhD degree actually reduces your chances for a job. Also all your peers from your master study have been employed for 4-5 years by then and are way ahead in their career by the time you start. It is simply not worth it. There are absolutely no benefits of having a PhD and frankly nobody gives a sh** about a PhD in the society. And the couple of extra pennies you will get IF you get a job will be taken by the taxman anyway. So why bother. The only purpose of a PhD is to keep couple of academics and bureaucrats in their jobs. DTU is a modern slave camp.
