People frequently described customer support as unhelpful, rude, and completely unresponsive when trying to resolve urgent problems. Consumers also experienced severe delivery delays, missing items, and long waits for refunds with no clear communication. Though some customers were happy with the powerful performance and quick arrival of their new devices, the overall sentiment stayed negative. About Dyson

Dyson was founded on the idea of solving problems that others ignore; vacuum cleaners that clog and lose suction, hand dryers that are energy hungry and don't work, and hair technology that relies on extreme temperatures and cause heat damage.

Since it was established in the UK in 1993, Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a global technology company with an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists at its core.

Today, Dyson machines are sold in over 65 countries. From cordless vacuum cleaners to air purifiers to hair dryers ; a whole new generation of technology has made its way into the hands of Dyson owners around the world.

Would give 0 stars

Would give 0 stars but there is not that option.

Arranged for my fan to be repaired. Told they give two weeks for collection. DPD came one day late and with a box that was too small for my machine so refused to take it.

I contacted Dyson. The customer service handler, Maria, was rude and gave the impression that she really couldn’t care less. Told me she had to cancel my repair and I would have to rebook. This would have another two week wait.

I said I wanted to complain and speak with a manager, at which point she said I was therefore refusing a free repair. I explained she had never offered this and it now seemed a condition of me not complaining. It was. As I wanted to complain about having to wait another two weeks when it was not my fault Dyson sent a box that was too small, she said she could not do anything to resolve my issue. She said I could not speak with a manager.

I spoke to a chat assistant who booked a collection for the next day. I received an email confirming this only to be emailed the next day cancelling it all. I was also told that I could not speak with a manager.

I have now been asked to rebook with no idea when the date will be. Told a manager will contact me within 5 days.

I am extremely frustrated and would advise everyone to avoid.

didn't receive order of 2 fans ordered…

didn't receive order of 2 fans ordered on 20th May by this time it's over 2 weeks. contacted them to find out where they were. royal mail eventually tried to send but I was out at the time, they did leave a card and I rearranged delivery for the Friday to the local post office. went to post office to discover royal mail/parcelforce had delivered back to sender despite me organising redelivery. then discovered RM/Parcelforce had said they had tried to deliver twice before but did not leave any card so question this completely. Fans delivered to warehouse on 12th June, confirmed on royal mail/parcelforce tracking, confirmed by Dyson on 19th June they were received at the warehouse (after I phoned them up wondering when I'd receive my refund). 4 weeks later (now 10th July) these still have not been scanned at their warehouse, and I'm still waiting on my refund which is GBP990. Guy from customer service yesterday tried to tell me that the fans were still with the delivery company even though it is noted as being returned to sender. today they admitted they are at Dyson warehouse (as did guy on 19th June) however still not scanned. Disappointed with customer service (and of course royal mail/parcelforce). It is with regret that I do not recommend purchasing from this company.

I ordered a replacement part from Dyson…

I ordered a replacement part from Dyson roughly 2 months ago. Each time I called customer services I was informed they can see the order has been placed but unsure as to what the issue is - an escalation was submitted. No correspondence regarding my order whatsoever. I’ve just made a call today to be informed payment didn’t go through due to an error. I’m absolutely appalled by dysons customer service. It is without doubt the worst I have ever come across. Why did it take 2 months and a third/fourth customer representative to inform me there was an issue with my payment. Instead I have been massively inconvenienced thinking my item was just stuck in the system, only to now find out this wasn’t the case. Absolutely diabolical services

1 month later I haven't even received my order yet…

I haven't even received my order yet but my experience has been bad. Supposed to be next day delivery, DPD apparently attempted delivery but I was in all day and didn't get a call. Then my order goes off in transit, no update for weeks. When I get in touch with support they tell me it came back to the warehouse but I was never told and never got a refund. Now we're mid heatwave and the item is, of course, out of stock. When I asked for remediation all I was offered was the initial discounted price that I had availed of online. Apparently their machine could not process an additional discount. I understand that DPD is not Dyson, but for a premium retailer they should ensure their goods are delivered and that their own tracking system updates customers correctly. Their support staff should also have appropriate remediation options available.

Insecure packaging

I recently bought my new Dyson V10 from Amazon as I note that others have had delivery problems with buying direct. All okay - happy with product. I wanted the Mini Motorised Tool (not included with V10) to spruce up some furniture and decided to order direct as I wanted a 'genuine' product. It arrived by Royal Mail on time. The box was handed to me by the postie and was already open with the product visible inside. No adhesive tape had been applied to the box to secure it by the supplier. The Tool appeared to be new and unused and undamaged. It worked okay with the V10. Full marks for the Royal Mail, one star for Dyson.

They promise next-day delivery

They promise next-day delivery. However, next-week delivery seems more accurate. I placed an order on the 7th with the assurance it would arrive the next day. Yesterday and today, I’ve been trying to find out what’s going on, and they keep saying it’s in transit with the courier and to keep waiting. I checked with DPD, and they said the parcel is waiting to be picked up from the warehouse, which means it is not with the courier as Dyson representatives claim.

It was much easier to buy the product from a different shop rather than wait for them to deliver it. My old Dyson has broken down, and I really need it. Why was it so difficult to process another order and have it delivered the following day instead of being told to wait several more days until something changes? I genuinely believe nothing will change, and they will have to process a second order, meaning I will have to wait again.

RMA Manufacture Defective Item.

Purchased item but manufactured defective.
Decided to RMA due to QC under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Received QR Code cannot be scanned.
Contacted Customer Service, initiated DPD Collection, CS used wrong address.
Contacted CS again and initiated another DPD Collection, CS used the delivery address as the Collection address.
Phone Dyson CS, they explicably stated to ignore the DPD Collection address as it will be collected from my home.
I was correct, DPD went to collect from Gloucester GL2 4PA "When our driver arrived we were advised there was nothing to collect".
Contacted Dyson CS yet again, after much argument with the deliberately obtuse CS personnel, another DPD Collection was initiated and this time both the collect and delivery addresses were correct.
DPD collected and delivered the item to Dyson who acknowledged receipt and initiated Refund.

Having thought this was the end of the nightmare transaction with Dyson UK.....I received another apologetic email with another wrongly addressed DPD Collection for the item to be Returned to Dyson.

One simply cannot Adam & Eve it as to such shambolic service from Dyson UK.

I have never had such degree of despicable customer service from any other company with such recalcitrant Customer Service personnel.

Buyer Beware

Buyer beware. Ordered a CF1 fan on Monday, did not say out of stock, money taken from my account. No delivery updates. It is now Thursday. Rang customer services, someone was supposed to call back. Still waiting. Supposed to be next day delivery.

Non existent customer service

Ordered an Airwrap advertised with next-day delivery. It never arrived, and tracking showed it stuck at the local delivery depot. When I contacted Dyson I was told to wait 3-5 working days for Royal Mail/Parcel Force to investigate, nobody followed up as promised so I had to chase them.

On the second contact, it appears Dyson’s team had given Royal Mail an incomplete description the first time round, meaning the whole thing restarts with another week of waiting for an answer! Despite this being Dyson’s own error, I was told the order couldn’t be cancelled because it was with the delivery partner (which doesn’t reflect UK consumer law). Beyond frustrating. It’s Dyson’s responsibility to deliver the goods in a reasonable timeframe and they haven’t done that, so now I’m stuck waiting nearly 3 weeks, with no item or refund and no real accountability. The customer service team just go round in circles with the same script, and escalating to a complaints team apparently takes another 5 working days.

For a premium brand, their customer service approach is at odds with consumers’ actual legal rights, let alone providing a poor experience all round. I won’t order anything from Dyson again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either.

Do not expect a premium customer service

I ordered directly from Dyson expecting an excellent customer experience, but the service has been extremely disappointing.

My order was worth £640 and was purchased as a birthday gift with next day delivery expectations. Instead, I received the wrong item — a Dyson styler instead of the vacuum cleaner I ordered.

After that, the exchange process turned into a complete mess. I had to store the incorrectly delivered product at home for almost two weeks, while Dyson and DPD repeatedly failed to complete the hand-to-hand exchange properly.

Dyson support kept telling me that my case was a priority, but in practice I had to chase them multiple times myself just to get basic information. The exchange failed several times, the gifting timeframe was completely missed, and the communication was poor throughout.

After all of this, Dyson simply stopped responding to my follow-ups about how they were going to handle the situation. It has now been almost a month without any meaningful update. At this point, it feels like ignoring the customer is part of their complaint-handling process.

The product itself may be good, but based on this experience I would not recommend ordering directly from Dyson. If you want to buy a Dyson product, ordering through Amazon may save you a lot of stress, time and frustration.

Travel hairdryer…

Just purchased the Dyson Travel hairdryer as I saw someone unpack one in the box so my husband bought it for me . Was very disappointed that you spend £250 for a travel but they don’t give you the bag to travel with you have to buy that separately. Come on Dyson your products are not cheap
Surely it should come with the travel bag .

Dyson V 16 Piston animal 10…

I bought a Dyson V 16 Piston animal 10 months ago with what is clearly described as an “All Floors Head”. Do not be fooled by the trendy looking Red and purple brush head. Not only is it flimsy - a tiny bracket holding the side of the head together has broken rendering the head useless but it also refuses to pick up dust off floors with the slightest of texture / imperfections. On anything less than perfectly flat hard floors it is utterly useless.
Having complained to Dyson, they initially offered me a complete replacement machine which I was happy to accept but they escalated my complaint about the all floors head in the hope that Senior Customer Services would supply a fluffy optic brush head free of charge (which they said should do a better job of cleaning my ever so slightly uneven hard floors). When I eventually received a call from Senior Customer Service they advised they would not supply a new machine as previously promised. They were only prepared to offer a replacement brush head and would only supply a fluffy optic brush head if I paid the princely sum of £100.
I have had Dyson vacuums for over 20 years and been very happy with them. I am however, extremely disappointed with both this Dyson and their Senior Customer Service. As it stands, I consider the machine to be not as described and not fit for purpose with the tools supplied. The response from Senior Customer Service I have received so far, is I consider, quite frankly, appalling (although everyone who has answered the phone from the link on the app have tried their best to help). I am however, awaiting a further phone call from Senior Customer Services and will submit a further review should their position change.
UPDATE:
3 weeks later, having still not received any further communication from Senior Customer Services, I called Customer Services from the app again. This time my call was answered by Caroline. She took the time to really listen. Whilst she could not provide a replacement machine, she did offer to send me a replacement “all floors brush head” and a fluffy optic brush head free of charge which I have reluctantly accepted.
This could well be considered a successful resolution, however I am disappointed that the original offer of a replacement machine was withdrawn. Further both brush heads they are supplying are only guaranteed from the date of my original machine purchase and I therefore have concerns about their longevity.

Dyson love affair over

My 5th purchase and my last.
1, Free next day took 2 days
2, Faulty item delivered
3, everyday for a week trying to get collected via chat
4, Had to escalate with great difficulty as promises to collect didn't happen. Eventually a week later collected.
5, Had to escalate again to get them to confirm they had machine BUT they say 14 days for refund.
So they will have had my money nearly a month and I have spent hours on phone and chat bot talking with people from every corner of globe in foreign voices who all say we have to obey Dyson rules.
No considerate customer service.
NEVER AGAIN and do not recommend purchasing from them

Sales of goods act does not apply to Dyson.

Dyson believe that sales of goods act does not apply to them. My wife bought a cool pc1 which was faulty . It did blow cool air but only if you put on maximum (10) and sit in front of it. We informed Dyson and they said we will send someone to repair it. It is brand new and cost enough so we expect a better response than, we will repair it.

The Dyson Big and Quiet purifier

The Dyson purifier Big and Quiet has been a god send. I have a dog, live in an open plan house and the temperature was reaching 31 inside. This has been amazing and worth every penny. Not only taken the temperature down but also the humidity. We are actually feeling a little too cool now and it's 33 degrees outside. I found one available at Argos in the sale. Can't recommend highly enough

Dreadful Customer Support

I have ordered a cooling fan from Dyson. I did this with the expectation of free next day delivery as promised on their web site. They took my order and also took the money from my account immediately. I knew things were not correct because I did not receive a confirmation e mail.
I rang their customer services team for advice only to be told that they could not locate my order despite having taken my money. The customer services team member told me that she could do nothing for me and would have to escalate the issue. I asked to whom she would escalate the issue but she could not tell me.
A day later, I have an e mail that says my order has been located and processed. There is no information regarding dispatch or courier details. I tried ringing again only to be told that the team had no idea when my order would be shipped and I would just have to wait. I also tried e mailing the customer services team but they have not bothered to reply.
I feel that Dyson are interested only in taking money from people and not delivering as promised on their website. The customer support team is poorly briefed and offer practically zero help.
DO NOT SHOP WITH THIS AWFUL COMPANY.

Dyson corded vacuum-repair delay

Dyson corded vacuum. Dyson did a troubleshoot over the phone and advised it needed to be brought in for a repair. Luckily it is still under warranty.
However they can’t collect it till 22nd July then they will need time to fix it. There is no temporary replacement. All they could advise for a quicker service was to bring it in myself to their London or Kent repair centre. I’m up in Yorkshire!
I really thought Dyson would have offered a better service to its customers. Very disappointed.

I wish I had used trust pilot to check…

I wish I had used trust pilot to check reviews about Dyson before purchasing from them. Customer service is absolutely terrible. The whole company has become an absolute joke. I purchased an air purifying fan over a week ago for next day delivery. No communication from Dyson to say its not coming when I contacted them them they said its sold out! But they still have my money! Then they offered me a replacement to then turn around and say that is now sold out too!, in the process of trying to get my money back. When did Dyson become such a poor quality brand. Dont waste your money go elsewhere.

What's happened Dyson?

Such a shame to see one of the UK's great brands disappear down the pan. They've lost sight of the importance of good customer service. I ordered a Dyson Ball Animal on 2nd July with next business day delivery included. Today - 7th July - there was still no update status. So, I spent more than an hour waiting on the phone (three attempts) trying to reach someone who could help. When I finally got through to a human being they were in a foreign call centre and couldn't help. All they could tell me was that the vacuum is out of stock and I should not have been able to order if from the Dyson website! They said they couldn't refund me because the problem needed "escalating" to another department, whatever that means. It is just so frustrating that so many companies are content to operate like this. This country!!
