Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 235 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the products to be expensive, with concerns about their quality and durability, as items often broke down quickly or failed to perform as advertised, such as batteries not lasting or parts malfunctioning. Customers frequently reported frustrating encounters with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach for resolving issues like repairs, replacements, or returns. This often led to prolonged waits and a lack of clear solutions, making the overall service experience highly disappointing and not matching the premium price. However, some customers also noted that the suction power of their vacuums was impressive and remained strong over time.

RETURNS ARE A NIGHTMARE

Placing an order was easy, and the product shipped promptly. However, if you think you may need to return the item, you may rethink your purchase. First, you have to jump through several hoops to initiate the return, and I had to escalate my second request to get them to finally respond. In the end, they will take several weeks after receiving your return before issuing a credit to your bank card. Basically, the don't want to take their products back and will punish you accordingly

DO NOT BUY A DYSON HAIR DRYER

I was gifted a dyson hair dryer for Christmas last year, less than a year later it just shuts off in the middle of blow drying my hair and takes hours to be able to turn back on. I contacted support as the hairdryer is supposed to be under warranty for 2 years. They want me to either drive 2 hours away to a dyson service center, or mail mine in and it can take up to 6 weeks to get back but they will not give me a replacement in the meantime so I would have to buy another one anyway! The person from customer service was completely unhelpful, rude, and didnt solve any issue. If this was a $50 dollar hair dryer I would understand but these are supposed to be superior and cost it! I am completely frustrated and wasted 2 hours on the phone for nothing.

Dyson Cust Serv-TERRIBLE

I ordered a new hair dryer and when I went to use it, it would not advance past the first heat setting. I spent 45 min on the phone with customer service to confirm. They sent me a return shipping label and said expect 15 days until I receive a new hair dryer?? Why wouldn't they overnight a new one, since the retail price was $549?? No exceptions?

Dyson stole and kept my property (vacuum)

Submitted exchange March 26, 2025, followed up on the phone over a dozen times in months that followed. Last contact in Summer 20225 with no resolution or response. My Dyson V11 handheld vacuum (RRP $629.99) head broke and Dyson asked me to send my whole machine (motor body that was working fine and the broken head attachment) so they send me an exchange. I had Dyson V11 machines. I sent the motor body, along with the broken head (turns out the functioning motor body I sent was not the one they noted down they were expecting - different serial number - but otherwise the same machine, model). I did send them the broken part - the head. My mistake for sending the wrong motor body serial number to what they wrote down. They then refused to send me a replacement because I sent them the 'wrong' motor body (which was working). They also have not returned my 'wrongly sent' machine, effectively stealing my machine worth $629.99. I have called many times, was told the return of my machine has to be approved by 'another department' who never replied to the customer service team or me. Every time I called they said they followed up with the team who will reply within a few days - they never did. I also had one of their customer service managers 'Ricardo' yell at me and hang up, telling me I did not purchase the broken machine from them (that I was lying) - he then called me back and said he found my original order in the legacy system they have since retired and migrated to a new one. Submitted case to BB Bureau who facilitated two message exchanges with Dyson and closed the case because Dyson replied "We’re unable to return items that have been sent to Dyson." They have stolen and kept my working Dyson motor.

I was excited to try Dyson because…

I was excited to try Dyson because everyone talks about how good their products are. The vacuum works well and looks nice, but honestly, I expected more for the price. After a few months, the battery started running out faster, and getting a replacement wasn’t as easy as I thought. Not terrible, but definitely not as amazing as I hoped.

Dyson Vacuum Suction Power Issue Not Resolved by Service, Unable to Get Support

I have been using the Dyson Gen 5 vacuum for about 1.5 years, and I purchased the product from Dyson’s official store. For the last 6 months, I have noticed a significant decrease in suction power, and this issue occurs with every use. I have sent the vacuum to service twice under warranty, but the problem remains unresolved and continues as before. Additionally, I have been having difficulty reaching customer support and have been unable to get assistance.

I request that my product be either replaced or that the issue be permanently fixed.

Very poor customer service

I’m very disappointed with the service I received from Dyson.

I bought my Dyson V8 vacuum in May 2025, and it suddenly stopped working. I tried charging it, but the red light kept flashing. I called customer service, and the lady I spoke with went through some troubleshooting steps with me. She asked if any lights were flashing when charging, and I told her it was red only. Then she asked me to press the button for a few seconds, and a blue light flashed, which I mentioned to her. Based on that, she said it must be a charger issue and arranged to send me a replacement charger under warranty.

It took about seven days to arrive, but unfortunately, the issue still wasn’t fixed. So, I called again. This time, an Asian man answered the call, and right from the beginning, his tone was quite rude and dismissive. He asked again which light was flashing, and when I said red only, he told me it wasn’t a charger issue but a battery issue instead. He even blamed me for supposedly giving the wrong information earlier, even though I had described exactly what I saw. When I tried to explain, he didn’t seem to care at all, which was really frustrating.

He then said they would send a new battery, but it was out of stock and on back order for 4–6 weeks. He added that if I didn’t receive it within that time, they’d “look into something else.” I didn’t want to argue, so I just said “okay.”

Later, I told my husband about the situation, and he decided to call Dyson himself. He was firm and demanded to know how we were supposed to clean our house for 4–6 weeks without a vacuum. Suddenly, they said they’d send a battery from somewhere else, and we received it within a couple of days.

So, while Dyson did help in the end, it makes me wonder — does a customer really have to be rude or pushy to get proper service? If my husband hadn’t called, I’m sure I would have been waiting over a month for a solution.

Overall, a very poor customer service experience. The lack of empathy and communication was disappointing for a brand like Dyson.

Dyson Service Betrayal: Twice-Fixed Vacuum in a Week, Swapped Perfect Parts for Worn-Out Junk – Trust Completely Destroyed!

I've been a devoted Dyson fan for years, owning multiple products that promised innovation and reliability. But this warranty repair experience with my cordless vacuum has shattered that trust beyond repair—it's the worst customer treatment I've ever encountered.
It started with a simple power button glitch; everything else, including the brush head and attachments, was in pristine condition after light use. I trusted the authorized service center to fix it quickly under warranty. After the first "repair" attempt, I got it back... only to discover they'd swapped out my flawless, barely-used accessories for heavily worn, dirty parts clearly salvaged from another vacuum! The brush bristles were frayed and grimy, the laser non-functional—nothing like the originals. Heartbroken, I immediately returned it for a second fix within the same week, hoping for justice.
The second attempt? More delays and excuses, with no apology or investigation into the obvious substitution. They acted like it was normal to hand back a subpar, unsafe machine. This isn't service; it's outright deception that endangers users and erodes faith in a premium brand.
Dyson, you've lost a lifelong customer. I've never felt so betrayed by a company I admired. I strongly advise against anyone buying Dyson—save yourself the agony and choose a brand that actually stands by its products.

Very poor/dishonest customer service

We purchased Dyson V15 and the main tube broke within one month. We phoned Dyson, as it was under warranty and they noted to us that the part was backordered and would let us know when it was available. 10 months later, still no part. Alternate solution provided was to have us send our vaccum to them for a new one that would be delivered to us within two weeks (no other choice at this point). It has not arrived and we are now being told that it needs to be fully inspected before it can be sent back. I am a very positive and understanding person, so I am sharing this review so that customers can make an informed decision when purchasing from Dyson. The customer service is dishonest and does not put the client first in any way.

I would give it no stars if it was…

I would give it no stars if it was available. This hair dryer was replaced five times under the 2-year warranty. They would last anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months. You would think after making this product they would have a recall or an updated replacement for the continuous breakdown of this product. Shame on them for charging almost $400 where my kid has a $30 one from Conair and it's 6 years old and still working.

Dyson sent me a damaged “replacement” fan and refuses to take accountability.

I owned a Dyson TP02 fan that failed after 2½ years due to charred wiring. Dyson agreed to replace it, but what arrived was shocking — the box was crushed and looked like it had been dragged through a warehouse. The “new” TP07 had scuffs, a marked power cord, and particles sealed inside the display screen that you can’t clean because they’re trapped beneath the lens.

That’s not a new product; that’s a repackaged return. I’ve spent over 12 hours in chats and calls, yet Dyson keeps looping the same scripted answers with no supervisor or real solution. Even an earlier replacement was recalled mid-transit after reaching New Jersey due to a “system glitch.”

Dyson markets itself as a premium brand, but they’re acting like their reputation will outlast customer patience. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau because this experience has been insulting, exhausting, and completely out of line for a $600 product that’s supposed to represent “engineering integrity.”

If you’re considering Dyson, be warned: the product design might be impressive, but the company’s support is not.

Worst support ever

Worst support ever, I have returned my dyson as new one came out few days after I bought mine, so I thought I rather get new one. I didn't even unpacked my dyson sent back and I have already been waiting for money to be returned to my bank account. 2 months.
I am still waiting with their indian support and only answer I get, that my case was highlighed and passed to dedicated team. Keep waiting for another 5 days. This is absurd. Never buy from them. Overpriced and scam company.

Expensive product for low quality

I’m so disappointed with Dyson. I bought my Dyson Supersonic directly from their official website, believing I was paying for quality. After only about 2 years, it completely stopped working. Dyson replaced it with a refurbished one — but gave me no warranty at all. That “replacement” broke again in just 6 months!

I paid almost $450 for this hair dryer, and it lasted barely 2.6 years in total. That’s not normal for such an expensive product. It’s unfair that there’s no real guarantee or support after spending so much money. I honestly expected a premium brand like Dyson to stand behind their products better. I would never expect something this expensive to fail twice so quickly.
