AVAOID AT ALL COSTS.

AVAOID AT ALL COSTS.

They took our money and stopped contacting us a couple of weeks before our wedding. We were told a DJ might turn up and we were sent a random number and told only after threatening legal action. The number was for a random DJ who we had no idea what their music was like or even if they were affiliated with the company. The ‘booking agent’ regular posts on DJ groups looking for DJ’s days before events and offering odd amounts of money. Stay away from them and SIGNATURE MUSIC PRODUCTION which is the new company that’s been set up.

Great.

These are tiny, which can be good or bad based on your needs. But these are no joke. They way outperformed some Sony STUFF that was 4 times as expensive.

Appalling - AVOID

Appalling. Do not use these or Signature Music Productions.

1. Earcandy have gone into liquidation
2. They are fobbing people off saying the acts are still contracted to perform
3. The acts aren’t responding
4. Earcandy didn’t pay any acts despite taking deposits and payments so we’ve all lost our money and no secured performer
5. Earcandy have now had the audacity to set up a new company called Signature Music Production and are listing the same acts on the site, yet for hugely inflated prices.

Earcandy were terrible to contact on a good day. Now this has happened. They’ve taken us all for mugs and run off with our payments to then start up a brand new company.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Trying to claim back my money.

EarCandy have gone bust but sent correspondence to say we still have a booking - our act isn't responding to us.

As part of my payment was to K&B solutions so I will try & claim back that money as they haven't gone into liquidation.

The company has gone bust & set up in a new name - Signature Music Productions. Make sure you steer clear of this company & I hope the bands / acts know better than to work with them again.

Have no idea if the booking is going ahead

We booked a band through EarCandy in early 2022 for our Wedding in summer 2023.
We were told that they had gone into administration at the end of last year but that our booking would go ahead.
Since then we have tried to contact Ear Candy numerous times without a response.
There have given us no confidence that it is going to go ahead especially as they are advertising the band with their new company Signature Music for double the price.
P.s. Ear Candy, if you do reply to this post, please just reply to our email rather than telling us to email again

They have gone bust!

I've recently found out that ear candy has gone into administration back in Oct 2022 from reading this on trustpilot. I'd meet several attempts to contact a candy but no reply. Eventually I did get a reply confirming that they had gone bus. Just point in considering we've got our wedding this summer and we've had this booking since 2021. It's on professional. If a company is going into administration, the first thing you'd think they'd expect them to do is contact their customers to let them know about this, but they obviously didn't. We will be cancelling our booking and not paying a single penny more to Earcandy or any vendors just on principle.

DJ Damo. Hip Hop and R&B king!

DJ Damo did an excellent job DJing at our wedding. We wanted a hip hop & R&B party. Everything from Dre to Drake and be delivered. Everyone was up dancing all night, was an absolute blast! Thank you so much. Andrew & Michelle

Avoid!!! Terrible communication! Ghosting and have taken our deposit!

We’d booked a DJ via Ear Candy over a year ago for our wedding taking place in one month. After paying a substantial deposit, we were assigned a DJ, were given his name and details. A few days ago, a random man contacted us saying he was our DJ from a non Ear Candy email. We tried getting hold of Ear Candy using the email they’d previously contacted us - the email is not in service. We have no idea what has happened with the company, whether this new DJ was hired by Ear Candy or not. No instructions to pay the final invoice so we can only assume our deposit is lost. We are now a month before our wedding and panicking about whether we have a legit DJ and whether we have the funds to hire another. Am stressing and feeling hugely overwhelmed

UNDERGOING SOME CHANGES, what does this mean?

UPDATED: The beginning of this review is 'I have sent an e-mail again and again'. No response, please respond to those e-mails.

I have sent an e-mail again and again to Earcandy, and I still have not received an e-mail. I have tried to call them back and it seems you would not be able to talk to anyone. Also, I am worried as their automated response there is "undergoing some changes" or "no new bookings is being made"... what does this all mean? I have been reading reviews, and this gives me anxiety because I don't know where we stand. My reference number is: 1172992271.

No response via email or phone

UPDATE: I have now had two 'holding' emails with no information on what is happening just that they will be in touch - this company has folded but the owner has just created a new company doing the same thing!

I have been trying to contact ear Candy via phone & email with no luck.
We booked a DJ for our wedding (ref: 131366387). After seeing the reviews and rumours, we just want to know where we stand ASAP so we can get someone booked in if they cannot fulfil our booking. Can someone reach out to let us know where we stand so we can make plans?

EARCANDY HAVE FOLDED

As said in one of the recent reviews below, I have had confirmation that this awful company have folded. They are trying to put the blame on the act owners (“we have told the act owners to contact you”) - this isn’t true. They have taken all of our money and ran.

Earcandy - I notice you’re responding to the new 5* reviews that have conveniently started popping up. I would love to see some responses to the couples you have actually affected.

If your wedding is coming up, you need to find the details of the band/act and contact them directly. Then, take legal action to get your money back. Don’t let this ‘company’ ruin your wedding day.

Hi Jess, your review isn’t entirely accurate, but any customers that have questions at the moment can send an email to enquiries@earcandylive.co.uk

All Act Owners have been asked to contact customers, and they are doing so in date order, and additionally, someone else is making contact in date order of bookings.

Avoid! EARCANDY HAS FOLDED.

My Wedding is in less than two weeks from now.

I am missing a final invoice to pay which has not been sent.

I have had no contact at all for some time now. I am frankly worried that I have been robbed of my initial deposit at this point.

Hope EarCandy Sees this along with many other unhappy customers. Something needs to change!

EDIT: I HAVE FINALLY HAD CORRESPONDENCE FROM EARCANDY THAT CONFIRMS THEY HAVE FOLDED. THEY HAVE TOOK MONEY FOR MY WEDDING AND RUN. DISGUSTING!!!

Updated AGAIN after false response from EC

***FURTHER UPDATE: To add to the proof that these people are a joke and this situation has been handled HORRIFICALLY - they sent me an email TWO MONTHS AFTER MY WEDDING assuring me that everything was fine and a “plan is in place” to provide services for my big day.

**UPDATE: Earcandy have responded below, and they’re a bunch of liars.

My booking went ahead because I ALONE found the manager of my act in time - to this day Earcandy HAVE NOT sent my details to him or any part of the band. Tell me how bookings are continuing when the act don’t even know the name of the person who booked them? Let alone the location, timings, any details at all?

Earcandy DID NOT at any point respond to my multiple emails and voicemails, begging them for information. But the owner DID respond to my mother-in-law’s email, with the same baseless claim that existing bookings were going ahead.

The band were incredible and we spoke to them about the issue - they were very clear how terrible Earcandy have been to deal with and that they HAVE NOT been passing on details of bookings.

Earcandy - you can’t just state that people’s ACTUAL experiences don’t match “your understanding of the situation”, when they’re just the truth. I have proof of my experience. Can you prove that you passed our details on in a timely manner? Because I know you didn’t. I know you didn’t book a sound engineer like you were supposed to. I know you took my money for an extra trumpeter and I didn’t get one, because I paid YOU for it and not the band directly. STOP LYING!!!

-
Original updated review:
I HAVE JUST RECEIVED CONFIRMATION FROM THE PAST ACT OWNER OF THE BAND I BOOKED THAT EARCANDY HAS FOLDED AND IS NO LONGER IN OPERATION AS A COMPANY.

I managed to find the Act Owner’s name on our final invoice (paid only 6 days ago), which led me to his LinkedIn profile, which provided his email address. Thank goodness - he’s told me the band can still play the wedding, but the story of this abysmal company is horrifying to hear. They have taken everyone’s money and ran.
Do everything you can to find the musicians themselves - LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, just try everything.

Then seek legal advice on getting your deposit back.

———ORIGINAL REVIEW———
PLEASE contact us. Nobody is responding to us and your portal isn’t working. Our wedding is in 10 days and nobody is responding to our emails and voicemails - we need the band’s PLI and PAT certificates, but most importantly, given the recent reviews below, we NEED to know that the band we booked 3 years ago, paid a LOT of money for, and had our hearts set on, are going to play our wedding. Since speaking to you last month (when you responded promptly) we’ve heard nothing. I’ve just read that your acts are failing to turn up to weddings, failing to turn up with the right equipment, and failing to play the full set they’re booked for.
How do you sleep at night? Knowing you’re ruining the best day of people’s lives?
Please don’t ruin our day. We’ve waited three years, postponed through Covid, and two important family members will no longer be with us. We’re stressed, upset by this and I promise you we will not let this go if you don’t respond in the right way.
Please DO NOT tell me you’re “undergoing changes” - have some integrity and provide the service we’ve paid you for.

Avoid like E-coli!

I would strongly advise never using this service!

They will take a 50% booking (Non refundable) deposit and not bother to assign you a DJ until days before your wedding and then change your DJ without notice or communication. Our "Event organiser" (This is a very generous term for someone who doesnt answer calls, return calls, respond to emails or organise your event) took more than 3 weeks to respond to emails - and only responded when I was on the other end of the phone making her open my 8 unread emails while on the call.

In the interim you'll receive invoices from multiple different suppliers without explanation that vary from the booking terms you agreed with Earcandy.

It really is a shame that they are so disorganized, uncommunicative and poor all round, because they have some great talent on their books.

Our DJ was wonderful but I'd never recommend Earcandy - Because our DJ got less than a third of the fee we paid Earcandy and we actually ended up paying him additional money privately because Earcandy had underquoted us for his additional hours and we felt terrible that he'd walked away with so little of their exorbitant fee.
