AVOID Ear Candy…
UPDATE: Ear Candy have now emailed me claiming that we cancelled the booking so it is our fault that the DJ did not show. On top of that they are also claiming we didn't pay the second payment. Even though we did. And they're response here suggested that Ear Candy agree we should have paid double the original price 48 hours before our wedding. AVOID. If you can book Soul Fresh directly then do so.
Original post:
We booked Soul Fresh through Ear Candy who were great when we met the band directly. BUT Ear Candy are dreadful. We booked a DJ for after who didn't call us with a follow up and agree a play list until we got hold of him 2 days before the wedding where he had passed our booking to another DJ who wanted full payment again. We refused. The DJ did not show. We have had little to no response from Ear Candy telling us to go after the DJ who we don't know and never met. They have had almost 2 months to respond and refund us but they are ignoring us. They a we're awful before our wedding in June and just got worse in the build up and we're now consider small claims court proceedings.

Steeple Lease Farm Wedding
Just an amazing band and evening of entertainment. They made my night! So many others were impressed with the musicians!
DJ & Sax, DJ Jake- OUTSTANDING!
We wanted to leave a review for our DJ and Sax we had at our wedding, because despite some of the admin being poor from Ear Candy (they were hard to get hold of, wouldn’t answer my emails), once I was allocated my DJ, Jake, he was great.
The music he played for my guests was absolutely perfect. He read the room and just made the whole night such a fun and memorable night for us all, and everyone just loved the music he was playing along with Sean on sax.
We honestly could not be happier with how it went. Jake & Sean, thankyou so much.
Reported to trade standards for false advertising
Fraudulent representation of acts on their website. For example, The Somebody’s footage is of a band from 6 years ago, (you may recognise the lead singer, he is now a TV presenter and hasn’t been in the band since 2016). Ear Candy stated the below in their T&Cs:
“Unlike many acts who may rely on last-minute ‘deps’ if a performer is unable to perform at your event, we work with the West End Show model. This means that all our bands are made up of a small pool of handpicked interchangeable performers each who performs regularly with the act. Not only does this protect against last minute cancellations, but it also means we can access better performers who work in the west end and on high-level performances.”
There was 0% chance of us ever getting the advertised line up (given the lead singer had not been affiliated to the act for 5+ years) - I don’t know about you, but the quality of the lead singer is pretty crucial when choosing a wedding band.
We were then provided “new” footage of The Somebody’s (containing none of the individuals in the advertising materials, and which were less good based on the clips shared), what we ended up getting was 1/4 of that line up and a much worse lead singer (not up to professional standards).
We have repeatedly requested evidence of the credentials of the “performers who work in the west end and on high-level performances” (as advertised in the T&Cs) but this has not been provided.
As mentioned in other reviews, the response times from Ear Candy were also sub par.
£2000 down the drain, one unhappy bride. Avoid like the plague.
Below updated for the Earcandy response:
“You asked us for a "full refund". When we told you we couldn't provide a full refund, but we would be able to investigate, you told us you'd post negative reviews.” - plainly untrue. I had already written this review before any discussion of a refund occurred between the parties.
“The Act Owner also told us that you and Catherine thanked them at the end of the night for their performance.” - obviously, it would be impolite not to?

Best DJ & Sax👌🏼
We had Jake as our DJ for our wedding and what a fantastic job he did! Gave him a playlist and it was spot on, could not fault the music and everyone was loving it! Had us all up on the dancefloor, and with the added saxophonist, just added to it! Amazing night👌🏼💃🕺

Great experience from start to finish
Great experience from start to finish, I was a bit apprehensive about what music would be played as a Dj can make or break a party, I had no need to be as Garry was brilliant he read the room perfectly and was the perfect balance of interaction and music whilst being personable with our guests and politely fending off the Michael Bolton requests.
We were away the weeks before on honeymoon, away from internet so with only a week to go we gave Garry a list (very long about 6 hours worth) and he went through it all and picked the best songs some of which have lots of sentimental value to us and mixed them with some good party songs he got the mix just right.
We had a brilliant memorable night and a big portion of this was down to Garry’s expertise and professionalism. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend him again

Amazing!
Absolutely class, best part of the wedding! Would highly recommend booking!
Terrible communication
I enquired through EarCandy for a DJ & Sax a couple of months back. The communication to start with was great, I had a call to discuss technical side and some prices sent over.
When it came to me wanting to book, totally ghosted me. Sent emails to my booking agent/ info account/ FB and WhatsApp…. Tried calling too… Nothing back. I was literally trying to give them my money?!
Ended up finding another supplier in the end - who did a fab job.
Great band, some trouble with Earcandy
Booked the incredible Motown Gold and they were fantastic. Most people I dealt with at Earcandy were brilliant too. Just had an issue in the last two weeks before our wedding as someone had altered the price we agreed - it wasn't much more but no one could explain why it had been increased and it wasn't what we had agreed when booking the band. It took a lot of phone calls from me to get it corrected, which was pretty stressful as I was waiting to pay the balance and no one was getting back to me or seemed to be taking it seriously. Eventually I did manage to speak to someone who did get everything resolved.
The band themselves were absolutely faultless and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Avoid at all costs
My suggestion: avoid this company at all costs.
Firstly, they are simply an agency for bands/acts. They pretend they run/own the acts themselves, but they don’t. They are simply an agency, nothing more.
And they seriously over promise and under deliver.
We booked an act several years ago, for our wedding. Since booking, the communications with this company have been truly awful. It takes them 7 to 10 days to reply to any email. The phone goes unanswered almost all the time. They use overseas ‘Virtual Assistants’ to provide their customer services, which can be very frustrating. They don’t have adequate systems or records. The agents are confused and the whole experience is incredibly frustrating. We were left wondering if a band would actually turn up for our wedding or not…very, very frustrating.
They were the only supplier for our wedding (out of 18 suppliers) who let us down.
FOUR days before the wedding the actually owner of the band got in touch to say that they couldn’t provide the service we had booked and paid for. Can you imagine getting that phone call 4 days before your big day?! We even had a written contract with the service detailed in writing, but the band refused to honour it. We eventually came to a compromise – just so that we had something at the wedding - but we didn’t get the service we had booked and paid for and had a written contract for. We are now taking them to the Small Claims Court for a partial refund, given we didn’t get the service we paid for..
I urge you to read the other reviews: there are lots of other couples saying that they were also contacted the week before their weddings to be let down with various things. It’s just not good enough.
On the plus side, the band (Motown Gold) were actually very good and our guests enjoyed themselves.
The owner of Earcandy, is more than happy to get involved when he thinks you are booking something, happy to jump on calls etc to secure the booking. However, then he disappears off the face of the planet if you ever have any issues.
Earcandy: You are providing entertainment for very important events in people’s lives. You can’t mess this stuff up. You HAVE to improve your processes because currently they are not good enough at all.
Save yourself the headache: avoid.

THE BEST
Well what can I say, we had the best wedding day ever….DJ Damo and Sara on the Sax were absolutely amazing. Every single person there has said they had the best evening and no one left the dance floor. They were incredible. Thank you so much love Mr and Mrs Burgess

DJ and sax player combo
We booked a DJ and sax player combo for our daughter's wedding at Ufton Court, Reading, last Sunday and the whole experience was brilliant.
The wedding was postponed from June 2021 due to Covid and they were happy to move the date for a fee.
We had a phone meeting a couple of weeks before the wedding to run through admin including what time the DJ and sax player would arrive at the venue to set up and to answer any questions we had.
My daughter and now son-in-law chose the playlist and Damon and the sax player (apologies, I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know his name) delivered! The playlists were great, encouraging so many people up on to the dance floor and the sax player made it even more special.
Both families and all the guests had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening. We wish we could do it all over again! Thank you so much, Earcandy!

Amazing band, very engaging with the audience and generous with their encores. Would recommend!

We used Ear Candy for our wedding on Tuesday and are so glad we did. DJ Damo was amaaaazing and really worked with the energy in the room (as well as playing some bangers!). I arranged a sax player as a surprise to my husband to be and he loved it! James, our sax player was brilliant!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Earcandy DJ and Sax
We recently had the pleasure of experiencing fantastic entertainment from DJ and Sax at our sons wedding. The music had everyone up on the dance floor from the very start. Such a unique experience of the saxophonist mingling with the guests as he was playing and they were dancing … fabulous memories made!! Thank you so much Earcandy!!

Recently had the pleasure of listening to DJ and sax at a recent wedding. WOW! Great song choices, hugely fun and entertaining! Really suited the vibe of the wedding. Definitely recommend
We had Motown gold at our wedding and…
We had Motown gold at our wedding and they were absolutely unbelievable. The crowd interaction and pure joy they brought to the set absolutely made our night. We had skinny king straight after the ceremony into the drinks reception and it immediately turned the day into a party, rather than the usual lull that you get after the confetti and before the champagne it set the tone for the rest of the day being fun and a celebration. The team were great when we had to reschedule due to Covid.
So far not so good.
So far not so good.
I've made the reservation 3 months ago for a DJ to come and perform at our wedding.
It was really easy to make the reservation but with only a week left to the wedding I still haven't heard from the DJ and also cannot find him online.
Every time I try to call Earcandy I get to chat with someone that has no knowledge of what's happening and keep telling me "we will let the team know and they will reach out to you". No one haven't reach out yet.
