Easirent BSR AIRPORT

Easirent BSR AIRPORT.
Access to Easirent is not by airport shuttle bus - you walk. Easirent says only 500m from airport; much farther. With suitcases and kids, hopeless.
My booking apparently lapsed because flt delays. I was 4 .5 hours late, booking lapses after 4 hrs. Car I booked had (amazingly) already been re-booked for that afternoon. I was threatened with a £1500 deposit required for upgrading my car as my original category wasn't available. I have never been Subject of attempted to scare tactics by threatening my cc and gorging mevto pay £16pd upgrade instead of £10 pd plus £1500 deposit. None of this was credible; it was a shakedown. The alternative, waive the £1500 deposit and pay £16 per day upgrade. The insurance cover and excess options didn't exist; Easirent were dictating what I would pay.
These guys are clearly grifters. There was so much BS and inconsistency.
All I can say is this, when car hire looks too cheap to ve good, where EASIRENT is concerned, it's true. Stay away from them. Plus the so-called upgrade Citroën was a rubbish car that wouldn't pass a current MOT because of wheel imbalance among other issues.
EASIRENT are a rip off. Steer clear and try and use one of the reputable companies and book ahead.
I am going to the local police to make a complaint about EASIRENT BRS. I managed to record most of the verbal transaction on my mobile phone. It stinks of theft by deception.

complete and utter disgrace

complete and utter disgrace. The bloke behind the counter on 12/01/2023 should not be in any customer facing role let alone this one where he has to do lone working. He slagged off every customer who came through the door as soon as they left, argued with 2 seperate people while i was there who had clearly been misinformed about what product they where purchasing. i had booked a taxi down to rent a car for work as i didnt have one, he took one look at me and told me there were not any while serving another customer, i made it very clear i was in no rush as there were cars on the website i would wait. he advised me to book one, i did not untill he was free. he then said it was down to an it issues but none of the cars were available, no apology no attempt to explain, he only checked the website and conceeded there was an issue after being pressed to. I had barely said hello before he told me to go and use the rental company down the road, he told me to do this about 4 times before bothering to actually try and help me. Thank god i eventually did i received great service there. complete and utter disgrace, worst service i have ever received ever, first time i am compelled to write a review in 30 years, made to feel completely unwanted as a customer the minute i stepped in the door. wrong car given to one customer, another customer ended up paying twice as much as they thought they would, and another had not had it made clear the deposit would not be returned for 2 weeks, all 3 of those people where belittled to there face and then even worse when they left.

An experience so BAD it will shock you - Please read

I booked car rental through Booking.com and assumed as agents they vetted the standard of companies they engage with. Quite frankly Easirent (Bristol) are one of the worst bunch of sharp practictioners I have ever had to deal with. I arrived at Bristol airport for a funeral and saw the Bus transfer to the Car rental compound which is slightly off site and a 10 min transfer - having arrived at the terminal that contained the 6 or so reputable companies like Herz, Avis, etc. One of the reps told me that the Easirent compound was off site and I would have to go back to the terminal and Walk or ring the rep and ask for a transfer. I rang the rep and she bluntly said they didn't do transfers and she would email me a map. Havin eventually returned to the terminal I had a half a kilometre walk along a rough pavement in the lashing rain dragging a heavy suitcase. On arrival the rep was talking to another customer did not interrupt but would have thought it was common courtesy to at least acknowledge my presence. When she had concluded her business she still did not acknowledge me until I said Politely (but firmly - I am 60 years old and was soaked through to my skin) "I am Mr Gordon" her reply was "I know who you are.... " The rudest customer interaction I have ever received. Things went downhill from there - the company insisted on taking a credit card payment of £ 1500 to act as a deposit and as I only have Debit cards despite having sufficient funds there was a fairly terse dialogue where she kept saying bluntly... "I need a credit card" and I kept telling her I didn't have one did she have an alternative method to sort the transaction. Rather than saying yes or no she continued to aggressively ask for a credit card - no attempt at a modicum of customer care. Eventually I just told her to forget it and returned the Half kilometre in the pouring rain back to the terminal and then by transfer to the car rental place where Eurocar could not have been more helpful even to the extent of processing my rental on the paper counterpart of my licence as easirent had failed to give me back my plastic licence. Having paid the premium for not being able to book in advance I returned by car to the Easirent compound to retrieve my licence and the deranged rep locked the door as if I was some kind of rapist and tried to put my card under the door and despite several attempts it would not fit and ended up scuffed to bits - eventually she opened the door a crack and slung it out. Charming - needless to say this company is refusing to return my money so II will be taking them to court. Be warned they appear to be rebranding themselves.......

Disgraceful

Do not rent from this company. We had a copy of our quote showing that it included an extra driver and cover for the insurance excess. They tried to charge us for both again. It took over an hour to resolve. Despite the quote including their premium pick up service there is no courtesy bus and you have to walk there. Taxis were not interested in the 2 min car trip, which with cases is a 15 min walk and involves crossing a busy dual carriageway. The car constantly flashed a tyre pressure warning light which meant we had to keep checking the tyres throughout the hire. Never again and whatever you think you may save its just not worth the hassle.

I will NEVER use Easirent again

I will NEVER use Easirent again. Due to my VPN in Spain directing me via the US website, without my knowledge, I paid up front, something which I have never had to do before. When your agent called me, requesting a further CDW payment, I knew something was wrong. At the agents suggestion, I cancelled the reservation and re-booked, through the drivalia.co.uk site, the same thing happened, yet another cancellation! Eventually the agent booked the car for me, which seemed to work ok and we had our hire car. To date, I have still not had refunds for the two cancelled bookings, no reply to emails that I have sent, requesting refunds and, to cap it all, 4 days after returning the car, £1500 still blocked on my Credit Card. Never again.

Good service at Bristol Airport

Manager at Bristol branch was helpful, got me into a car quickly, and did a walk round check with me. Note: the Bristol airport branch is a walk from the airport - do NOT get the car rental shuttle bus.
Car was very clean and fairly new, with lots of features. Was a bit of a surprise to see a dashcam permanently affixed to the car - not welcome, but not a problem either.
Drop off quick and easy.

I arrived to pick up my hire car which wasn’t t there.

I arrived to pick up my hire car which was booked for 10:00 am only to be told there were no cars and I would have to wait until 12:30 for my car. This was unacceptable as I had an appointment to keep. Fortunately a car was returned early so I (only) had a 1 and a half hour delay.

WHY CANT I RATE ZERO STARS!

WHY CANT I RATE ZERO STARS!
Considering I booked this though VIP Car Rentals - there is nothing about this company which is VIP. Arrived at Bristol, called them to be collected and taken to their hire place - all I get was directions to walk there! - Its 15 minutes walk - which today was in the rain....which is absolutely not possible with my 86year old mother. Complained. Yet they didn't have anyone to send to pick us up. So had to cancel - and then the cheeky beggers wanted to hold some money back. What the fl*k !!!

Buyer Beware of Un-Easirent renting out KIA CEED 1.5 DIESEL

I booked an Easirent car via Indigo some time ago. First thing went wrong : On Pick up my UK credit card wouldn't work and had to put the deposit hold on my US credit card. Second thing went wrong : I was "upgraded" to a bigger car (KIA CEED 1.5 DIESEL) which wasn't suitable for purpose intended but was given no choice. Third thing went wrong : there was no back shelf for leaving valuables securely in the boot. Fourth thing went wrong : car suddenly started making a suspicious squealing noise. Fifth thing went wrong : reported noise to Easirent and agent advised me to ignore the sound and continue driving, unless/until there appeared warning lights. I wasn't at all easy with this advice and called RAC. Sixth thing went wrong : After waiting 6 hours stranded on the motorway far away from home for RAC I was told in no uncertain terms that the squealing noise was a Kia manufacturing fault which would have resulted in a very dangerous engine shut down had I continued driving, possibly causing a serious motorway accident. Seventh thing went wrong : Easirent refused to take responsibility for malfunction as it was a Kia manufacturing fault. Eighth thing went RIGHT : RAC intervened and arranged a taxi for me (at Easirent expense) to be taken to the nearest Easirent branch and be supplied with a replacement car while RAC towed the car to a Kia Dealership for repair. Ninth thing went wrong : At the nearest Easirent branch some distance away I had no choice but to accept an even bigger car, which was even more unsuitable for the purpose intended, had no back shelf nor manual. Tenth thing went wrong : It was too late and I was too stressed/exhausted to continue the long journey to my destination and had to spend the night in an hotel at my own expense. I complained to Easirent and was offered an extra rental day as compensation for this distressing event.

As always a great experience

As always a great experience with Easirent... This time round something new though....
I received a penalty notice for having parked at the hotel I stayed at. I am contesting this as I had valid parking. Lets see how Easirent handle this one in regards to the PCN admin fee. My view is I shouldn't have to pay it, as this was not caused by any wrong doing on my behalf :-/

Incredibly helpful office at Bristol airport

When my flight to Bristol was re-timed, Easirent made it easy to push back the collection time.
When my flight was then delayed 8 hours (meaning we would be arriving in the middle of the night, after the office had closed), it was easy to get in touch with Easirent to explain the problem and the guy even opened up half-an-hour earlier the following morning so that there was no chance of us missing our medical appointment.
The Kia Cee'd had exceptional space for our large number of bags.
Adding an additional driver halfway through the booking after I contracted Covid was extremely easy and very reasonably priced at just £5 per day.
The drop-off was extremely quick, easy and efficient.

Happy to take my money, just not refund it!

Happy to take your money, but when you need a refund they wait and wait and wait. It's been almost a month now and zero in return. Couldn't fulfill my booking, staff weren't exactly polite about the fact my flights etc. were delayed - not something that's particularly my fault. Didn't specify my card type wasn't accepted anywhere in their payment process, only told me when I made it to the branch that they couldn't fulfill my booking and therefore had to cancel - leaving me completely stranded.

AWFUL company to deal with. Won't be bothering again.

Rude, would not recommend…

They don’t set out their company policies in advance and only tell you when it’s too late. They also are very rude and unhelpful. Turned me away when I went to go collect my car even though I had all my documents! Would not recommend!
