Needs to be gotten rid of!
Everyone hates and curses this place, it needs blowing up ASAP. Awful inconsiderate unskilled pilots fly low over our estate during all hours of the day and night. All locals, disabled and elderly are fed up. Can not get a break from it. No reason to fly so low. Everyone hopes this place is demolished soon or attacked or just explodes.
PARKING SCAM!!!
PARKING SCAM!!!! Spent 90 seconds in their collection point. Couldn’t pay before I went, couldn’t pay whilst I was there, couldn’t pay after I left. Turns out you have to wait an hour after you’ve been then they let you pay to park? But if you leave it anymore than 24 hours you get a fine lol. I contacted the parking company asking how to pay after my visit and was ignored till after the payment window closed meaning they sent me a fine. Absolute joke, bunch of scammers and con artists, no idea how they get away with this, purely set up to catch people out and make money.

*DON’T USE MEET & GREET*
Please see my previous review about East Midlands Meet & Greet.
They have now sent us copies of their T&C and are saying that they will not pay out for any in direct or consequential loss, or loss of enjoyment.
Be very careful about using this service because if they write off your car they will hit you with an email saying you should have read the T&C which states we don’t care if we ruined the end of your holiday, or destroyed a car that you really liked or for all the upheaval, stress, anxiety and disruption it caused to your life trying to sort the matter out.
I will try and upload copies of their T&C if I can find a way to.
“Meet and Regret” – East Midlands Airport Service Destroyed Our Car
After a delayed evening flight and dealing with a sick child, all we wanted was to collect our car and head home. A reason we booked meet and greet, for the convenience. Instead, we were met with a shocking and deeply upsetting situation: our vehicle had been involved in a serious accident while in the care of the meet and greet service. The crash was caused by one of their drivers and involved another car—also driven by one of their staff. Incredibly, both vehicles were written off. How fast were they driving in a car park for that level of damage? Luckily we were provided with a taxi home.
The lack of empathy from East Midlands Airport’s meet and greet customer service team has been staggering. We didn’t receive a phone call the next working day, not even an apology. Instead, they chose to handle everything via email, showing a complete disregard for the stress and inconvenience this has caused our family.
Weeks later, we are still waiting for compensation. The process has been slow, frustrating, and emotionally draining. Their customer service has been nothing short of appalling.
Do not trust this service with your vehicle. You may not get it back, and if you do, it might be in pieces. The convenience they promise is not worth the risk.
EMA allow a scam car park operator…
EMA allow a scam car park operator (APCOA) to manage the parking sites. APCOA has cost EMA a frequent flyer due to APCOA dishing out fines without any fair evaluation of reasons set out in parking fine appeal.
Drop off scam
Just like everyone else, victim of the new drop off charge scam that the airport operates.
If you try and complan about it, they talk in circles about signage and attempt to deflect all criticism about the system. Awful airport.
USELESS SERVICE
DO NOT try and telephone this airport, all you get no matter which option you choose is "our lines are now closed" They invite you through their own website to call Customer Services and provide a telephone number.... USELESS, WASTE of SPACE. Even their Live Chat disconnects you after a while.. One cannot speak with anyone at all...What if there is an emergency.. forget it. Their on line help is at best USELESS. No anwers at all and Ive still not got answers to my genuine and sincere questions regardin pick-up charges, how & when i can pay...
They got me too.....
They got me too.....I had my credit card in hand to pay at the drop off fee at the exit that was there last time I went to the airport but couldn't find the payment barrier .... wasn't looking for the signs as I had no idea things had changed ....yesterday I get a charge notice for daring to spend 2 mins and 10 seconds on their property ... disgraceful and disproportionate 😬😬😬
Rapid Drop-Off Money Making Scam
I recently fell victim to the new parking regime at EMA, turns out that forgetting to pay within 24 hours is now a costly personality trait.
A couple of days later, the lightbulb went on, so I called EMA but their advice was just "Wait for the penalty notice and appeal it. Spoiler alert, the appeal was rejected because there are signs.
Now, I wasn’t denying the existence of signs, I’m not a flat-earther, I was just pointing out that we humans occasionally forget things which isn't a crime, it’s biology. But apparently, APCOA sees forgetfulness as a revenue stream, and now they’re £60 richer, while I’m left with a lesson... and a very expensive memory jog.
EMA, you're new 'We Got Ya' parking scheme is disgraceful but based on the fact that your Trustpilot rating is so low and you don't seem to respond to negative comments, suggests that see revenue more important than customer satisfaction.
£9 to pick someone up
£9 to pick someone up is a joke , should be free
Does anyone know how on earth to speak…
Does anyone know how on earth to speak to some one at EMA either on phone or live chat ?? dear god, tried every possible avenue but end up at the same place, nowhere, cant get to speak to anyone about a lost cabin size suitcase to see if anybody had handed it in, truly ridiculous, any advice from anyone would be gratefully received and appreciated, TIA.
Car rental - or lack of it.
Make sure your flight arrives before 7pm or you won't be driving a rental car. They all close at 8pm.
Then you have a choice. If you are lucky someone gets the pleasure of picking you up for 5 quid.
Or you have to get the train which is 5 miles away.
Rapid Drop off is a total scam
Rapid Drop off is a total scam, I won’t repeat what everyone else has said already but my experience is exactly the same as I have been caught out by the new payment system, £100 for 3 minutes dropping my daughter off at 5am on a Tuesday on my way to work. Absolutely disgusting, pure greed and clearly designed to profiteer. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves.
Getting worse every year
Getting worse every year, parking is awful and extremely expensive.
The staff are just so unbelievably unhelpful, the list goes on. The worst is when your luggage is lost, Swissport ask you to fill out a form and you get no response whatsoever, the email address is incorrect. You have become a private investigator to track your lost luggage.
Such a shame but I think it not be long before it’s sold to another company.
Absolute robbing Btards
Absolute robbing Btards. Rapid drop off has changed. Now you pay online. I didn't see signage and looking at the other scathing reviews neither did they. APCOA , the parking company are charlatans making money from people who didn't know the way of paying had changed. Look at your reviews EMA and do something about it. Give people more time to pay! Midnight the next day is too short a time. Some people are disabled, older, undergoing treatment or being flooded etc so a little more time would help. But they are obviously not bothered about individuals' extenuating circumstances, only their bottom line - raking it in. I didn't bother to appeal as I knew it would not be upheld. They are scum.
Worst airport in the UK
Worst airport in the UK. Staff smoking at the entrance, blowing it in passengers’ (and babies’) faces. Vomit in the passport queue that had clearly been there ages — instead of cleaning it, they made people queue next to it. Dirty, chaotic, terrible layout. Go to Luton, Birmingham — go to Glasgow if you have to. Just don’t come here.
Absolute rip off on drop off fees

£5 for 2 minutes wish I could have charged £150 an hour when I was working
Misleading Parking System Led to Unfair £100 PCN
I was charged a £100 PCN for a 3-minute 11-second stop in EMA’s Rapid Drop Off zone. The new “barrierless” ANPR system had no clear signage at the entrance, exit, or terminal to indicate online/phone payment was required. Exit barriers were up, and the terminal screen was unchanged, suggesting a fault, as confirmed by staff in a past visit. I’ve used EMA 20+ times, always paying, and have no fines at 32. My appeal to APCOA was rejected, forcing me to pay £60 as couldn’t be bothered with the hassle.
EMA’s promise of “fair reviews” during the system rollout feels empty. Poor signage and misleading barriers ruined my experience. Fix your parking system to avoid penalising others unfairly. I would say use another airport, sadly all the local ones are the same business. Shame on MAG Group for using APCOA for their parking.
Unacceptable Behaviour Toward Child at Security Check
I had a deeply upsetting experience at East Midlands Airport involving a security officer who treated my 5-year-old daughter with shocking aggression. She barked that only one parent could be present, then patted my daughter roughly and dragged her away as if she were a criminal. When I said I wanted to stay nearby, she escalated the situation further, confronting me again with a smug attitude.
I asked to make a complaint, and she refused to let me speak privately with her manager until he asked her to step away. He apologised, but no official complaint process was offered. This officer should not be in a role that involves handling young children. I expect follow-up and accountability.
