I have purchased several items with many of high value. More than half arrived broken or destroyed. Twice FEDEX would not even allow me to have it because of how badly the item was broken. Sure, they... See more

We don’t want to bother with you is ebth after you have paid for your item. They falsely claim items will be shipped 10 days after payment. False. More like 3 weeks.
dishonest false listing ?
I won (purchased ) a diamond pendant for over $4000 and was sent a pair of earrings. I was told a mixup occurred and once they were able to get my pendant returned to them they would send it to me. I promptly shipped the earrings back to the company. I was told they would contact me and they did not. I called them and was told someone was working on locating it. When they finally emailed me a response they said they had received it and would ship it out to me. I felt uncomfortable that the piece had been out of their hands sent to who knows who. I asked them to please provide me with a current dated GIA report to verify the grading of this diamond was the same as what I purchased since I did not want to take the chance the piece had been altered. They refused and told me that they did not feel they should have to bear the cost nor responsibility of a scenario they did not feel happened. That I could take the piece to my local jeweler upon receiving it and if it was vastly different from the listing description I could send it back to them for review. Vastly different is not an option. I expected the piece to be of the quality as listed I would not have paid as much money for a lesser quality piece. It would have been simple for them to provide me with a current dated report they have GIA certified gemologist on site yet they refused. I went to my credit card company explained issue and hopefully this matter is settled. I have been reimbursed by my credit card company but this whole refusal on their part to verify item is fishy. I would not trust them they do not stand behind the items they sell. It seems to me if everything was on the up and up they would have happily sent me written proof this item was the same item and not altered in the time it was not under their watch.
Slooooooow shipping
*Last edit- I ended up having to start several cases with FedEx over lost items. I never received any help let alone a response from EBTH. Finally, I had to call my credit card company and file several disputes; I received my money back in all cases. Done with EBTH- try at your risk. I did actually end up with 6/12 great finds for reasonable prices.
*Further edit- they never cease!! Tonight arrived a vintage light-up Lenox Christmas tree photographed and described as having nearly all its Christmas lights. It came with two. And about 30 holes where the rest should’ve been. Upon looking at their “What if I receive a damaged item” FAQ, I find that I have to refuse the package at the time of delivery or I’m basically stuck with it. Well, it was dropped at 11:05pm and I wasn’t even able to sign let alone make the poor driver wait for me while I unpack it? RUNNNNN from this place. $200-something just gone. Better off with retail where I may pay more but get what I’m buying. Horrifying.
*Edit- they use FedEx. I had purchases completed by 12/10 that will now be arriving after Christmas. Relying on EBTH has sorta kinda messed up my Christmas. Two paintings totaling over $2000. Items delayed over a week. Meanwhile I’m ordering other gifts a week after elsewhere online and getting them a week before I get EBTH’s. Nice thing is it adds to the antique vibe having them sent via carrier pigeons. I understand it’s hard to find truck drivers but then every other logistics company has managed their deliveries in a timely fashion somehow.
*older* I discovered EBTH about 3 weeks ago while descending down the rabbit hole that is the internet and have since made about 10 purchases. Have yet to see but so far so good.
Counterfeit Items
In September 2021 I purchased item - (ITMG936497) Bottega Veneta Matte Silver Tone Mirrored Aviators from Ebth. An online auction. The item was defective. I bought the item to my local Bottega Veneta store located in Miami to see if anything could be done. They contacted their headquarters in Italy and reported back to me that the glasses I bought were counterfeit. EBTH refuses to acknowledge this and insisted that I take my time to contact Bottega Veneta again and get the information in "Writing". I do not believe it is my roll as the buyer to prove that this product is a counterfeit since I have already spent too much of my time on the purchase. I supplied the Name and Address for EBTH to follow up on the info they required but they refused. Buyer beware when buying brand named product from the company with no integrity and unknowledgeable "Experts."
I dealt with Ryan Stroble at EBTH
I was charged $188 for what was…
I was charged $188 for what was supposed to be a real Fendi purse, I was sent a pure vinyl plastic unwearable shredded purse, I returned it immediately! I will not let up until I get my full refund. What a scam.
Best place to sell or buy!
I am a Seller and a Buyer. Liquidating an estate of my amazing collections worth well over $250k, I did nothing, they took over. I’m thrilled with the check I was handed! Did people pay top dollar for my stuff? YES they did! No Buyers Premium! Where most auction companies have no clue, this one gets the job done! At least here in CA where we are drowning in estate sales!!! Every day! This company is a success because the Seller pays, the buyer doesn’t! THANK YOU! There’s so much liquidation going on this is really critical to understand!. I am also a Buyer. I have had issues with shipping charges, which the company has fixed! Sometimes shipping charges can only be estimated! What stunned me in my sale was people happily paid shipping on huge and heavy items! For Buyers, this site allows pinch and zoom! I have yet to see any other auction house offering this feature AND they do NOT charge a 20-35% Buyer’s premium!!! Auction is as American as Apple Pie. EBTH just reinvented the process. I love it! YES I will continue to use their services!
Run from EBTH!
I purchased a necklace for over $200 from them. The auction description stated that the clasp was marked 14K. I called the auction manager to verify the item was hallmarked. The EBTH assured me the necklace was stamped 14K.
When I received the necklace, I could not find any markings. I shipped it back to them and they are claiming there is a very faint 4 on it. That is not the hallmark that they stated was on it. Very misleading!
No integrity and theft issues
I won an item on an auction on 6/22/2020. They immediately charged my card $498. I checked in regularly to find out when it would ship. On August 9’th they refunded my purchase without notice. When I questioned them, they stated they “could not find the item I won”. Either they have theft issues in their warehouse or they lack integrity. Either way, stay away.
Falsifying True State of Louis Vuitton Duffle Bag I purchased and will not take responsibility or make it right
I purchased a Louis Vuitton duffle bag according to the description and images shown. When the bag arrived, blue ink started rubbing off on my hands. I looked closer and saw that someone had used a marker to cove blemishes and white paint to cover up blemishes in a white area. They took no responsibility at all claiming that all sales are final, and it states that there are blemishes and markings. That is 100% different than covering them up with marker and pen. Blemishes and markings are visible marks, covering them to make the blemishes look like less is dishonest no matter how you slice it. I purchase and sell bags often, and there is no other business that says, you get what you get, period. If ANY of the companies or people I do business with acted this way, there be no trust in the wholesale bag business, and it wouldn't exist anymore. Would anyone ever do repeat business with this kind of merchant again? While I understand that the merchandise is purchased "as is" because there is not an opportunity to inspect the merchandise in person I could only rely on the photos they provided to assess the "as is" condition. As shown in the photos I provided, the bag clearly had been "painted" to hide the extent of the scuffs and scratches in order to misrepresent the true condition of the bag. Had they not painted the bag and provided photos of the actual as is condition, I would not have purchased it.
EBTH represents on their site they have an Uncommon Promise to inspect and properly represent what they are selling. They failed to do that in this case and now they are failing to "make it right" per that same promise. Apparently their promise is meaningless as they won't stand by it. IF the bag was as represented I do not understand why they won't take it back and simply resell it. I have even agreed to pay for shipping so they are not out of pocket at all, yet they refuse. That is clearly evidence that what they sold me is not what they represented on their site.
They tried to say I must have used a harsh cleaner on the bag which was completely false. Only AFTER the bag left blue ink markings on my skin, did I even attempt to get a baby wipe which is what is recommenced by LV to use. Another example of how there was something wrong, yet they were trying to put it on me.
My Prada bag that went missing at ebth!
