AVOID
AVOID! After checking reviews etc I decided to subscribe to Ecolaundryclub for delivery of laundry sheets from April 2022. We liked the sheets and recommended them to others though delivery was at times somewhat sporadic.
However in around July of this year deliveries ceased but because they were only fortnightly and had already been irregular I did not worry too much. Then I received an email in September apologising for the lack of deliveries and the lack of communication, and stating that my subscription would be paused without any further payments being taken to allow the backlog to be cleared.
Again I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it is now the end of October and still radio silence. And payments have continued to be collected.
I checked their Facebook page and noticed someone else had queried the lack of deliveries and contactibility a day ago so I explained I have had the same issue and have now contacted my bank to block further payments and recommended she do the same, mentioning also the option of the bank going down the charge-back route for payments taken where deliveries hadn't been made. An hour later and both her message and my replies have been deleted. I could also see that there had been a further 18 comments but they had also been taken down.
Emails to any of their addresses have bounced back to both her and me.
There is nothing on their website which suggests there are any issues, nor on Companies House save a change of registered address this year. There is therefore nothing to flag up to potential new customers that they might just end up paying for nothing as I now have and I am clearly not alone.
It is highly likely that a company that started out with good intentions is simply no longer viable.
But it is dishonest to continue taking customers' payments and in addition to cut all communication. Please do not fall for the sales pitch on this company's website.
