I contacted Expedia to change my hotel stay

I contacted Expedia to change my hotel booking in Mexico from 11 days to 5 days. They said they changed it and I was charged, when I arrived for the full 11 days. $200 per day for a hotel in Barra De Navidad is ridiculous. I contacted Expedia and they said there was no information in my booking with regards to the change. I will NEVER deal with any online booking of trips again.

Booked 2 legs of a flight, one was flying on a bus???

Booked 2 legs of a flight. Both legs identified flight time. After inquiring about length of second leg, it was noted that it was a bus. Only if you checked further into managing the itinerary it listed a bus. Very misleading. The Expedia manager and agent at customer service repeatedly tried to get me off the phone stating your trip is confirmed and have a good trip. There needs to be full disclosure prior to booking.

They have their own Canadian 'policies'…

They have their own Canadian 'policies' different from their USA policies with regards to cancellation of flight tickets (even though this is NORTH AMERICA). Apparently a 24 hour period of cancellation can be a few hours long and it's based on Vancouver time! Very devious and non-trustworthy. I don't even know how this is legal/legitimate. I'll NEVER purchase any tickets from them again. Stay away from this horrible company.

BAD EXPERIENCE

the total experience with expedia.ca was poor. i had to rebook flights because of a funeral and then when i rebooked a passenger name got entered wrong and they made me buy yet another ticket instead of changing it. booked 2 tickets with the same name. when i asked about returning rental vehicle a day early i was told by alamo both when i picked up the vehicle and when i returned it that id get refunded but when i talked to expedia they wouldnt give me any refund, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Wish I could give it less than 1 star.

Wish I could give it less than 1 star.

Every time I called about an airline credit that I had, I got a different answer. I talked to one person and she outright lied to me that the airline was insistent that I flied the same cabin fare. I called the airline and they said it wasn't true. It would have cost me, and given to expedia 3 thousand dollars more. They're unethical and I will never do business with them again. I will also not do business with VrBO or Hotels.com since they are merging. Scam artists

Clearly define vacations
I booked a trip for my GF anf her friend to mazaland mexico
Booke resort and flight both at the same time somehow the website sent them to new mexico instead this was on the itinerary as well. The resort was almost 11 hours away from this airport. I was forced to book another flight which was 10 hours later so they had to spend the entire first day of the vaction in the airport landing at 12 noon and arriving at the resort at 2 am 14 hours later. Flight cost $`1500 canadian. Once they arrived the resort informed them that the voucher was not for all inclusive and that the upgrade was $500 dollars canadian also not clearly defined to us when booking. To fly home from mazland is another $2800 canadian bringing the grand total of $4800 on top of the $3300 we paid originally.

The best expedia could do is say they were sorry but the information was clearly provided for review on my itinerary which it only states the resort offers breakfast included and that the flight lands in new mexico. No where does it say the reosrt is 11 hours from the airport and on the information for the resort selection it clearly states all inclusive. I went online and tried to recreate this trip several times and i cannot even duplicate it also both agents i talked to on the phone also tried to recreate it and couldn't. I believe that we should be fully reimbursed for all of our added cost just out of sheer decency. All we got was a credit from Air Canada for our cancelled frights and a $100 cupon from expedia.

This is just a disgusting way of treating people. Thank god we had the financial means to get her home or they could have been trapped in new mexico

Paid for First class airline denied and gave economy seat.

Due to sudden critical condition of my brother in Dallas I booked my flight from July 2 to July 7 ,2024 from YYZ Toronto to Dallas in First class of United Airline as no other was available.
There was no issues from YYZ to Dallas but I was denied a seat for First class from the airline in Dallas. I refused to accept that but after a long disgusting and embarrassing interaction from UNITED Airline I was forced to either take economy class seat or told to miss the flight.
As per booking ticket they can see it was booked and charged for Business but at their end was in economy. United was partnered with Air Canada in this trip.
United airline senior management told me that Expedia charged me for business but booked for economy.
I need to resolve this over charges immediately, I have sent several emails to Expedia & TICO but no resolution, i attached all the proofs.
I do have a complete video of traumatizing experience at the airport which I haven’t shared any where yet.
I was visiting Dallas in emergency to attend my terminally ill family member was devastated by this experience during that extremely stressful time.
I bought several tickets from Expedia before and never expected this experience from them.
I was expecting a professional response from them but it’s been months with no results.

5000 Expedia points is worth $50…

5000 Expedia points is worth $50 dollars. This unauthorized charge from Economy Car Rental cost me $1380 Canadian. How can you justify this compensation. It's the responsibility of Expedia to screen this type of crooked car rental companies. This company has fake reviews. I checked this out on google reviews. Not sure why Expedia didn't do there due diligence and disallow companies that have unlawful practice to be listed on your site. Furthermore I paid Expedia not Economy Car Rental in advance. I'm a gold member and hope you can come up with fair Expedia points and waiting for a month for a response isn't exactly good customer service.

I just spoke to customer service and I…

I just spoke to customer service and I can’t believe the service that i didn’t get. The man, I spoke to was so rude and asked me what I was looking for. I explained that the booking I was looking at showed a deal price, but then when I was checking out, it had all these extra fees and ended up being more expensive than if I would book through the site itself. He told me I am getting a deal. It all depends on how I look at it cause I have freedom to choose. I asked him what are you talking about? I told him that there was all these extra fees. Expedia was charging that are not on the Muskoka Waterfront Retreat directly. He said it’s because I get free cancellation. I said why do they not just state that it’s a cancellation fee? Why are they charging me property fee, extra guest fee? There is no transparency and Expedia just puts whatever fees in they want. He was so rude. He told me he can’t get into my head to convince me anything else. What? Then he said goodbye and hung up on me. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced I will never book through Expedia again

WORST Booking Experience

Think twice before booking with Expedia.
Still no resolution from last year.
Jan. 15,2024 my husband and I booked through Expedia a property through VRBO for Oct. 5-8, 2024.. Property #74651585
In Rome Italy
Reservation ID#HA-VONHJO
TOTAL Charge $286.91 Non-refundable
We contacted Host TATANIA from airport before boarding to get instructions for our arrival. While speaking to TATANIA she told us she cancelled our NON-REFUNDABLE reservation night before without a reason. Tatania said other guest staying in our room and no rooms available. They probably booked it to someone else and charged more .
Left us stranded .Tatania wasn't helpful..
That was so unfair ..we booked so far in advance ..we had to book a hotel while in lineup boarding .It was so Stressful..cheapest place Milly House in Rome Italy itinerary #72935742406020
Total charge $839.64 .
compared to $286.91 original booking
We are out $552.73 because VRBO..represented by Expedia Site they did not honour their booking that we didn't cancel a Non- refundable booking .
Both Expedia and VRBO haven't accepted responsibility until now Feb 8,2025
We are planning to book a vacation soon and if there is no resolution we will no longer go through Expedia or VRBO and will let all our Family and Friends know why not !!!!

And the agent named David just dropped the call without saying anything! while also in convo with this guy seemed impatient, you can feel it while talking to him, very frustrating and not being helpful at all!! I didn’t get any help anyway!!!

Bedbugs at the hotel Expedia booked!!

Bedbugs at the hotel Expedia booked as part of my expensive package!!
Ruined the vacation!
Expedia offed a paltry number of "Expedia Credits" which can't be used for flights or hotel. Several phone calls, with promises to get back to me. They never did.
I phoned yet again and was told the same thing, even after the rep. talked to management, saying that there was no way they could offer more. We all know that is nonsense - they could give whatever they wanted. I don't appreciate being lied to. I won't be booking through them again. I will advise all my friends and relatives to NEVER use Expedia.

Hote bill error, expedia.ca fault

I used to like Expedia. Now I will certainly reconsider further bookings with them.
I have booked a hotel near Cancun and the invoice from Expedia included a tax to be charged by the hotel. This is normal, there are various and numerous "environmental" taxes these days. However, the hotel actually requested the amount that was 3x more than what Expedia.ca provided in the invoice. As far as I understand, it was Expedia's fault, they calculated it incorrectly. However, Expedia has rejected my claim and even the proposal to compensate me the difference in Expedia points! I guess, this is the warning sign for me - with Expedia, the customer is always wrong.
