Mixed feelings
Good quick web-site and fast responses. Excellent coverage of standard stuff like censuses BMD records, and so on. But difficult to find out just what extent of coverage of electoral rolls, directories, and other really useful stuff is (e.g. you discover that coverage of the Dentists Register stops at 1906).

Alongside each form is the year ranges that we currently hold for that record set. For example the 'England & Wales, Electoral Registers 1910-1932'.
Electoral Registers to pick up again in more recent years however it falls under UK Electoral Registers & Companies House Directors begining from 2002 onwards.

Over 20 years, and still my go to website!
I have been a FMP subscriber for 20 years; the website is easy to navigate; it has comprehensive data collections; multiple search options; the search results are focused and easy to mine down into with filters; tree building option is easy to use and provides useful hints.

Interesting, frustrating and a little expensive.
Its been great researching and trying to find how far back I can go in my family tree, I love the hints and ease of use (sometimes) the only things I knocked a star off for is: I wish there was an undo button as a few times I thought I found a link and it turns out it's wrong and I'd have to manually go and delete the data, sometimes not possible if it's someone else's tree thats been added to mine. Often I've missed brothers or sisters of ancestors or can't find them at all unless I go onto other ancestory websites and find a tiny bit more information there, and the subscription...seems way too much. £169 for a year? Equating to £14 a month? For mostly suggestions that don't link to my family line, the suggestion is for the wrong ansestor and wont let me put it on the correct one, or dead ends because the trails gone cold from lack of information.
It's a little frustrating, but it's been a good hyperfocus for me.

I signed up to a 7 day free trial while…
I signed up to a 7 day free trial while I couldn’t go out due to illness to the history society where I have a membership and can access FMP for free.
I was very disappointed that you couldn’t access a lot of the documents due to them being ‘exclusive’ when on the free trial.
How are you meant to get a real feel and see if you will get enough from a paid subscription after the free trial if you can’t actually see if the documents are what you want to see and could further your research etc.
I think it’s unfair, as it’s not like people would be able to do all their family tree research and find all the documents they need in one week and then not need or want a subscription!
Also I do think the subscription is expensive and thought that it might be we would get a better deal for one year if not subsequent years after the free trial like you do with other companies.
I would have subscribed for a year and probably longer had it been affordable after the free trial.
It would have been handy to be able to access FMP when I can’t get to the history society and when it is closed as only open three days a week.
There is lots I still want and need to look at on FMP.
The website is fairly easy to use and search for documents etc.

Find my past
As a long time genealogist I have seen Find my past has improved so much that it is becoming my go to as opposed to Ancestry. I like the layout and the simplicity of the features.

Accidental subscription resolved by Ryan
I took out the free trial and inadvertently upgraded to a full subscription (beware- it's easily done once you've put a payment method in). I immediately asked for a refund, which was sorted within a day by Ryan. In the end, I paid for a month to access the exclusive records, which are not available on the free trial. I am happy with this resolution, and look forward to digging in over the next month. As an Ancestry user, I'm not used to the interface yet, but do like the 'workspace' area.

Amazing find
I was stuck with searching for my late husbands family. Found his great grandmother on a census that told me she was born in the very house that i was years later. Her daughter was my God mother. Too late to tell my Mum and husband now about the connection but was an amazing find.

We do have a 12 month subscription, paid in 12 monthly installments. This is our cheapest subscription for full access though it is for 12 months, and cancelling would incur a cancellation fee which is confirmed within our terms prior to setting up the trial or subscription.

Findmypast has a good range of records. The transcriptions are fairly accurate. I like being able to view newspaper articles.

Returned to using Find My Past
Returned to using Find My Past after a few years using Ancestry and Scotlands People. Found loads of interesting items and just felt that I had struck a seam of gold!
