Fancy name, awful job done

We rented through the South Kensington branch, and our experience was extremely disappointing. When we moved in, we discovered that much of the furniture shown during the viewing had been swapped for cheaper, scratched, and mismatched alternatives — including the sofa, chairs, and bed. It took seven months of persistent follow-up and reminders about contractual obligations before the correct furniture was finally replaced.

Any time something broke, the replacement process dragged on for months, and we constantly had to chase updates. Our property manager, Dee, was frequently out of the office, and there never seemed to be anyone available to handle her responsibilities in her absence. Contractors also missed scheduled appointments with no follow-up.

Additionally, the sales agent assured us that the neighbours were quiet, but in reality they scream on a daily basis, making the flat far noisier than represented during the viewing.

Overall, things only seemed to get done when they needed something from us, such as compliance checks, rather than when we needed support as tenants.

Three words - don’t do it

We listed our house with foxtons and the service has been abysmal. There’s been next to no effort or movement with trying to sell the house, no communications with any options etc. You get an account online which shows upcoming viewings - almost all viewings ‘booked’ haven’t actually happened and they don’t contact us to confirm it either. You expect a lot from an estate agent with their level of commission - dont bother.

The foxtons has been a great experience. we was allocated Adam in the Canary Wharf office. He took us under his wings and has been an absolute pleasure. He helped find us a property within a short space of time. This also took the weight off our shoulders.
Quick response and very reliable. I would highly recommend.

Just moved in to my new place!!!

Just moved in to my new place, with the support and great service from Jade Rodrigues. From the start with any queries I had, she was very professional and attentive. Very polite and understanding of my personal circumstances. It’s been a great experience with foxtons assistance and Jade played a great part in the success.

Great company and people! Would definitely recommend :)

Mislead and frauded

Foxtons have rented my property for 2 months this year promising and eager to get the property let.
I dealt with Margot originally, then Rachel and later Hidaya. I only had nightmares with this agency. Rachel was very good at convincing me and accepting a pet together with a couple. I was only renting the property for one person. I ended up to earn £750 per each month for a whole house in Twickenham! I expected double this rent. I was reassured that it would be. Sadly I had signed a contract just a day before Christmas. Got rushed into. Not only I did not make any profit, but I also lost £300 credit I had on my utilities bills. Again, the clause was not clear and got told into. On my return, the house was left in very poor condition. Pets hair everywhere and overall poor cleaning. Nothing like the house had been left. They asked me a video before I left. Rachel complimented on how clean and great it looked! But somehow, when I made the complaint, the video was not a proof of evidence and the relevant prople disappeared. The case was passed on Hidaya at this point. All gone lost in translations. Not only I didnt make a profit. I have been severely mislead and frauded. Foxtons only care about getting their earnings! Once you have signed, you are left on your own.

Bullies.

Absolutely vicious and annoying, borderline harassment. I don’t even want to buy a house through you, even if it’s my dream home. Three calls a day, WhatsApp messages, voicemails, emails… it’s so pushy. You don’t listen to what I’m actually looking for and just push your own agenda.

It’s the same with every branch, although, I never asked the Tooting to share my details with them. I’ve had to explain what I want at least ten times to seven different offices. I have no idea why properties in different regions are pushed to me. The Tooting office shared my details, and I’m now being hounded by Putney, Battersea, Balham, Tooting, Streatham, and others I’ve already forgotten, all contacting me multiple times a day to buy something that I never asked for, even pushing to buy a flat where I’m selling flat to upsize to a house.

I’m done. I won’t buy or list through you. Bye.

Terrible Service

Terrible Service - had a flat for sale advised to fix it up at substantial cost to me and told valuation once renovated.
Buyer pulled out when I accepted a MUCH lower offer than what I was expecting.
Now they asking me to accept an offer even lower that it’s not worth selling g now.
Pressurised Sales talk and lost so much money in lost rentals and renovation.
I would NEVER use Foxtons again.
When I discussed with Foxtons my dissatisfaction and with facts all silence.
Strongly advise to use them.

My experience with Foxtons Chiswick was…

My experience with Foxtons Chiswick was extremely disappointing. Communication was weak from the very beginning; every time I called, I was told that “the person you are trying to reach is in a meeting,” and my emails were either ignored or answered with vague, unhelpful responses. There was no sense of professional management or support throughout the process.

Despite having paid all fees in full and holding a signed tenancy agreement, I was left standing outside on move-in day and was refused access to the property. Due to Foxtons’ inability to manage the situation, I ended up contacting the landlord myself with the signed contract in hand, trying to fix an issue that should never have occurred. They couldn’t even ensure that the agreement they issued was honoured.
Had I not had somewhere else to stay, I would have been left on the street with my 6-year-old child.

I did not expect this level of negligence from such a large and supposedly reputable company. I even became unsure whether my money would be refunded properly.
Foxtons Chiswick is far from reliable. If you don’t want to be left completely on your own when something goes wrong, I strongly recommend staying away.

DO NOT GO WITH FOXTONS - WORST ESTATE AGENCY AND SERVICE – ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY

I strongly advise anyone considering Foxtons to think twice before using their services. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share the details so others don’t go through the same ordeal.

**1. Complete Lack of Care for Customers**
Foxtons has shown zero concern for my financial situation or the challenges I’ve faced during this tenancy. Despite repeated requests for assistance, their actions have only made things worse. When I tried to explain my circumstances to the area manager, he blocked my number instead of helping me. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking for a company of their size.

**2. Commission Charges Despite Non-Payment of Rent**
The tenant has been in arrears for months, owing over **£5,500**, and continues to underpay by **£405 every month**. Universal Credit confirmed they cannot increase their contribution, meaning this shortfall will persist. Yet Foxtons continues to deduct their **full commission**, even though I haven’t received full rental payments. How is this fair? How am I supposed to pay my mortgage when the tenant isn’t paying rent, but Foxtons still takes their cut without hesitation?

**3. Broken Promises and Misleading Agreements**
When the tenancy began, I was assured by a Foxtons representative that I could pay commission monthly. This was a key reason I agreed to proceed with them. However, after that person left the company, the agreement was ignored, and I was forced to pay in full upfront. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic.

**4. Poor Service Delivery**
I paid for a premium service, yet I had to chase Foxtons repeatedly—sending multiple emails and making numerous calls—just to get late payment charges applied. These charges were supposed to be automatic, but they were only implemented after I chased them nearly ten times. Additionally, during the first 18 months of the tenancy, I could barely get hold of my lettings manager despite paying in full for their service.

**5. Financial Hardship Caused by Foxtons**
This situation has put me in severe financial difficulty. I’ve maxed out credit cards, borrowed money from family, and still cannot cover my mortgage because of Foxtons’ handling of this tenancy. Their actions have directly contributed to this hardship, and they have shown no willingness to resolve the issue.

**Bottom Line:**
Foxtons only cares about taking their commission—whether you receive rent or not. They do not provide the support or service they promise, and their staff’s behaviour is unprofessional and unacceptable. If you value transparency, fairness, and customer care, **avoid Foxtons at all costs**.

They are arrogant, unprofessional and hate clients!

They are arrogant, unprofessional and have not client management or relationship skills whatsoever. Trying to get my deposit released from them has been impossible. It was a sizeable sum, and they refused to return phone calls, answer emails or do anything except respond and have the courtesy to actually speak to clients. I have been at the receiving end of their arrogance for the past two years. Shocking

I want to warn anyone considering using…

I want to warn anyone considering using Foxtons – Islington Branch, specifically Elle Williams. In my personal experience, they were far from transparent and relied heavily on pressure tactics and manipulation throughout the process.

After my offer was accepted, I was bombarded with constant pressure — being told about “cash buyers” and “higher competing offers” in a way that felt more like mind games than professional negotiation. Other reputable agencies I’ve worked with never disclose such details because they know the damage it can cause.

Despite my surveyor being ready, it took three weeks for Foxtons to provide access. They claimed they couldn’t locate the extended storage key — even though they had made the same excuse during my viewing and promised it would be sorted by the time the survey happened. They clearly didn’t even know which key belonged to which property. That alone shows a worrying level of incompetence.

I had to travel for a funeral during this time, and instead of supporting the timeline, they pushed aggressively for an earlier exchange — obviously chasing their Christmas commission rather than caring about the actual transaction.

Meanwhile, I spent over £2,000 on my surveyor, broker, and solicitor. For nearly a month, Foxtons failed to even instruct the seller’s solicitor properly. They ignored us for almost three weeks — complete radio silence — and then suddenly claimed that the seller had pulled out.

A disgraceful way to treat serious buyers who are putting real money and trust into the process.

Be cautious if you choose to deal with Foxtons Islington. They did not communicate openly, they did not act responsibly, and at no point did they make me feel like my best interests mattered. I would never work with them again.

Positive Experience with Sarah Kelsey

We had a mixed experience with Foxtons after we signed our rental agreement, as a few issues were not handled as we had agreed with the agency before our move-in date. This was frustrating.

However, after we moved in, we were allocated Sarah Kelsey as our Property Manager, and we were eventually able to resolve the initial issue in question. Since then, we've had some minor maintenance issues, and Sarah has been very responsive to emails and has resolved them rapidly. Sarah is dependable and has displayed a commitment to providing us with a smooth tenancy. She has also demonstrated her ability to communicate maintenance issues to our landlord in a way that leads to them being resolved to a good standard and without any pushback. She has been a breath of fresh air for us after what was an initially frustrating experience with other agents.

The Most Incompetent HR

The Most Incompetent HR

It’s no surprise that Foxtons experiences such high staff turnover when the HR department shows this level of incompetence and lack of accountability. I wouldn’t even give them one star if I could.

My story with Foxtons began in December 2023, when I had my first discussion with their HR department—specifically with Weronika Kusiak—about joining the company as an agent. From that moment on, the visa process lasted almost two full years, during which I invested over €20,000 in exams, application fees, travel, and all other steps required to secure the UK work visa.

Throughout this entire period, I remained in constant communication with Foxtons. They repeatedly reassured me that once my visa was approved, they were ready to bring me on board immediately.

In August 2025, I finally received the positive confirmation that my visa had been approved. In our conversations, Weronika reacted enthusiastically and encouraged me to relocate to London as soon as possible. Following their guidance, I moved to London and began searching for a rental property. Because I didn’t yet have a signed contract, I had to pay six months’ rent upfront plus deposit—another €22,000—while explaining to landlords that I would be working for Foxtons.

Once I secured the property, I contacted Weronika Kusiak for the next steps. From that moment onward, she completely ignored me. No calls, no explanation.

After repeatedly calling and messaging her with no response, I decided to visit several Foxtons branches in person to speak directly with a manager. Every manager I spoke to redirected me back to HR—even when I explained that I had already been in communication with “Ronnie,” as her colleagues call her. The moment I mentioned her nickname, their expressions and attitude changed noticeably, as if they already knew the situation.

Shortly after these visits, I received an email from HR telling me not to contact them anymore, and that if I wished to reapply, I should do so in six months. This was the only “follow-up” after two years of promises, effort, and enormous financial investment.

This entire experience is unacceptable: false promises, a complete lack of professionalism, and zero respect, leaving me in London with massive expenses and without the job they had guaranteed.

A truly disgraceful experience, and a warning to anyone considering trusting their recruitment process.
