Foxtons were eager to get the property up for sale. After that communication and feedback were poor

Excellent customer care
Excellent customer care
Having a smooth moving-in experience with Foxtons. The communication and response time have been very good. Andrina Kivlin, the property manager, has been very effective at coordinating things to ensure my flat in E20 was in great shape. Thank you.
Foxtons Oval delivered an uninhabitable studio
I strongly caution anyone dealing with Foxtons, Oval/Vauxhall. My case was initially handled by Malika, then Joe, and finally Jibby—none provided a serious solution or managed the situation properly.
From the start, I was pressured to sign the tenancy quickly. When I received the keys, the studio was in a catastrophic state: uninhabitable, uncleaned, paintwork incomplete, and promised furniture missing. The washing machine and microwave were absent despite written confirmation. Even the toilet was unusable.
I was asked to personally open the door for their cleaner and supervise the work myself, effectively doing the agency’s job. I have spent almost 10 days living at friends’ places, as no alternative accommodation was offered (still not...).
This experience has been extremely stressful. Foxtons failed to respect their contractual obligations, and I cannot recommend them.
Nikita Harper
My review only refers to Nikita Harper from Foxtons Letting Support Department, who called me today to help me resolve several issues with my logging in to my Foxtons Account. She was helpful, courteous, and followed up on our conversations. I have nothing good to say about the rest of the Foxtons team, including people at the Head Office, who were not only unhelpful, but kept on transferring my call to other people in the Foxton organisation, who were of course not at their seats, but "please leave a message and I will get back to you". I wasted well over an hour of my time today on the phone trying to get Foxtons support to resolve a problem they have created.
Great experience
Had a great experience with Foxtons while looking to buy. We dealt with two agents — Tyrese from the Woking branch and Lily Martinez from the Guildford branch, both were absolutely brilliant. They really took the time to understand what we were looking for and showed us properties that were genuinely within our scope and criteria. They also went above and beyond by arranging and showing us multiple properties in a single meeting, which was incredibly helpful and efficient. Both were professional, friendly, and proactive throughout, and made the whole process far more enjoyable than expected. I would recommend Foxtons, and especially Tyrese and Lily, to anyone looking to buy.
Absolute scam of a company, avoid at all costs
Absolute scam of a company. I’ve never gone to a Foxtons viewing where the property was as advertised - e.g. they say it’s a 5 minute walk from the station and it ends up being a 20 minute walk. They’ll do anything to get you through the door of a property, in the hope that you’ll somehow fall in love with the Godforsaken place once you get there. It’s a bit like how men all say they’re 6’0 on dating apps and then hope that their mediocre personality will win you over when you realise they’re 5’9 in person. Also, if you give your number to one office, be prepared to have endless phone calls for the rest of your life. I once had 10 phone calls in one day from different offices I wasn’t registered with, all asking if I would like to register with them. This morning I’ve had four offices call so far and it’s only 11am. If you don’t pick up the phone, they just immediately call back - very convenient if you’re in a meeting or on another call. This is despite the fact that I have asked them to remove my number from their database. And they all have different numbers so blocking one does nothing, and you don’t know if it could be someone else calling so you inevitably have to pick up just in case. So basically, sign up for Foxtons if you want to be pestered for the rest of your life by absolute crooks!! How fun!!

I paid **£350 for a professional end-of-tenancy cleaning service** arranged through Foxtons. **The service was not provided**, which is clearly stated in the **end-of-tenancy checkout report**.
When I requested a **full refund**, Foxtons attempted to shift responsibility to the cleaning company. This is unreasonable, as **Foxtons sold and charged me for the service**. Despite the clear evidence, they offered only **£80 out of £350**, claiming this was “fair.”
As a result, I had to **pay twice**—once to Foxtons and again because the **landlord deducted money from my deposit for cleaning that was never done**.
Be aware: **the cleaning services proposed by Foxtons are unreliable**, and if the service is not carried out, Foxtons may refuse to take responsibility. I strongly advise tenants to **arrange their own cleaning independently** to avoid this situation

Foxtons South Kensington rented out a flat without hot water working, heating problems and took 2 weeks to fix it.
In one of the rooms none of the sockets work, no electricity in the bathroom sockets too.
I rented the property in September 1st and today it’s mid January, still no resolution.
Scammers!
They keep saying they will send electricians but the electricians don’t fix it.
I am probably forgetting other issues, Foxtons have such a bad reputation and nobody is surprised when I tell them about my issues with Foxtons

Avoid
Absolutely terrible experience as a tenant. Apartment put on the market for sale and I had to suffer through six months of viewings although my contract did not stipulate this. Very inconsiderate and once I gave notice to move out the property was immediately put on the market for a higher rent. Agents come for viewing with no notice and have no respect. Several deductions taken from deposit creating various inane reasons . Avoid at all costs.
Foxtons Woolwich - Sarah Kelsey
Sarah Kelsey was absolutely amazing! She was always incredibly kind and responsive to our needs. She promptly followed up on any queries and responded very quickly. I wish every property manager was like this so I don’t have to constantly worry.
Thank you so much for your work Sarah!
Tayla
Tayla, has been looking after my property at foxtons for a few years now. she is incredibly helpful and really looks after me. I would not be able to manage my property without her.
Very poor service totally inept.
Illegal & Unsafe Property – No Heating or Hot Water for Months
We experienced a prolonged and serious failure of basic living conditions at a property managed by this company.
From September onwards, we repeatedly lost heating and hot water. After months of failed repairs, a Safehouse engineer confirmed on 1 December that the boiler was dangerous, issued a safety warning, and submitted a report recommending full boiler replacement due to internal leakage.
Despite this, the boiler was not replaced. Instead, it was eventually disconnected, leaving us without any hot water or heating for weeks, during winter, with outside temperatures forecast to reach -4°C. One bedroom radiator had not worked since September.
This situation has had a serious impact on our physical and mental health, causing anxiety, illness, and extreme distress. The property was not legally fit for habitation, yet rent continued to be demanded.
The property manager, Simran Landa, was repeatedly informed but failed to take effective action. We have since escalated the matter to the local council, filed a formal complaint, and sought legal advice.
This experience has been inhumane and completely avoidable.

Worst letting agency I’ve ever dealt…
Worst letting agency I’ve ever dealt with – avoid Foxtons at all costs
I rented Flat 51, Loop Court, Enderby Wharf, SE10 through Foxtons, and I can confidently say this was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had.
At the end of my tenancy, the landlord tried to unfairly deduct over £2,000 from my deposit with completely false claims – including £1,500 for “lost rent” and charges for cleaning that were never needed.
Rather than protecting me or acting as a fair middleman, Foxtons did nothing. They allowed the landlord to submit these ridiculous claims and held part of my money for over 6 months, even when it was obvious the charges had no legal ground.
I had to fight this alone through MyDeposits dispute resolution, where the adjudicator reviewed all evidence and ruled that the landlord was entitled to £0.00. That’s right – not a single penny. Yet Foxtons still kept £180 of my deposit without justification, even after the final decision. I’m now chasing them to return what legally belongs to me.
The communication was poor, their handling of the deposit was completely unprofessional, and as a tenant, I felt ignored, unsupported, and disrespected throughout the process.
If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from Foxtons. There are plenty of other agencies out there who actually follow the law and respect tenants. I would never recommend Foxtons to anyone.
Arguably the worst agency in the UK
Arguably the worst agency in the UK.
It’s almost amusing how incompetent the staff that work here actually are.
If you want something fixed - forget about it.
Writing a lease - impossible.
If you have the option, I would stay as far away from this team of utterly inadequate individuals as possible.
Great experience
We viewed about 15 properties with two different Foxtons agents. While our experience with another agent was less than desirable (he was great personably but never listened to what we wanted and always offered viewing properties with much higher rents beyond our budget), our experience with Demi was wonderful. She was patient with us as newcomers to the UK, and actually listened to what we said we needed and preferred. Demi is fantastic -- we highly recommend working with her and Foxtons.

Foxton's Estate Agents in Kingston upon Thames sold my flat despite my concerns at times. During first meeting with Steven McGuire I should have took on board all his advise as he was spot on and knew the market! The Foxton's Team always were professional, keen to sell / help me and get the best offer for my property. They know their market and employ great strategies to get results. I have been impressed with their sales methods tactics and will always use them in the future and definitely recommend them [despite being a little more expensive]. Foxton's have an great sales model and their staff are well-presented, courteous and knowledgeable.

I had a wonderful experience with Foxtons, they helped me to take my first private rented apartment when I needed them the most. I was short on some requirements however they helped me to pass the checks and get the apartment I desired.
