Everything went well from start to finish information for the summerhouse was great have recommended the company to several of my friends

Long wait for order to be completed and wrong glazing panel delivered. Arrived on broken pallet and had to be manually offloaded!

The ordering process was easy and straightforward.

Parts missing, rubbish instructions, wood warped, constant runaround from their supposed 'customer support' to resend a list of issues which I've now sent 5 times.

AVOID GARDEN BUILDINGS DIRECT – TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH

I honestly wish I had read the reviews before ordering from Garden Buildings Direct. If I had, I would have spent my £950 elsewhere.

I ordered my summerhouse on 12 May 2026 and was told delivery would take approximately 6 weeks. Instead, I ended up waiting around 14 weeks.

Things then got even worse. I received an email telling me the summerhouse had been delivered when it hadn’t even arrived. After contacting them, I was told the courier couldn’t deliver it because it was too large and it was being returned. I then had to wait for it to get back to the company before it could be sent out again.

Eventually, when I finally received the summerhouse and started putting it together, I was absolutely disgusted with the quality. There was warped timber, chipped and damaged wood and large gaps in the construction.

Then, while fitting the roof, I discovered that 8 roof boards were missing, meaning I couldn’t even finish the roof.

I immediately contacted Garden Buildings Direct and supplied photographs and the part information. They acknowledged the missing boards and eventually sent replacements, but it took nearly three weeks. During that time the unfinished roof was exposed to rain and the weather.

I’ve kept all the emails and photographs, and their own staff have acknowledged in writing the delays, failed delivery, damaged/warped timber, gaps and missing roof boards.

Despite everything that has happened, when I asked them to put things right financially, they refused to offer any compensation or partial refund. Their latest response actually acknowledges the catalogue of problems I’ve experienced, yet they still refused to offer anything.

I have now had to take the matter further through my bank because I am extremely unhappy with the quality of the product and the way this whole order has been handled.

My advice to anyone considering buying from Garden Buildings Direct: DON’T.

The amount of time, stress, chasing, delays and problems I’ve experienced is simply not worth it. £950 is a lot of money to spend on something that arrives late, incomplete and with poor-quality workmanship.

Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. I certainly wish I had.

Do not by from the company ! they tell you that when your building warps and get gapping gaps in it after a few month that it is just settling what a load of rubbish! i have been fighting for 6 month with them as they refuse to give me my money back after spending at least 4000 on a cabin that is not fit for the office space I bought it for! under the consumers rights act 2015 they should give me a full refund as requested but they just keep sending me the same email over and over again! this company is also part of Billy ho and that is what my cabin was a Billy ho Fraya pent cabin so please don't buy form any of these companies !

I have provided GardenBuildings Direct with clear photographs showing poor workmanship and poor quality control, yet I received a standard PDF response stating that everything is considered acceptable.It is extremely disappointing that my concerns have simply been dismissed rather than properly investigated

The repeated requests to leave a review feel insincere when genuine customer complaints are ignored.
Good customer service is about listening to customers and resolving issues, not sending generic responses and hoping the problem goes away.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend GardenBuildings Direct The quality of the product and the lack of meaningful after sales support have left me feeling that my time and money have been wasted I expected a company to stand behind its products, but unfortunately that has not been my experience

I would leave a 0 if I could. Ordered the oh billy playhouse and took over 9 weeks to be delivered. I emailed, after the 9 weeks and asked for a refund as I was going away in 5 days and within 2 hours it changed from being in progress to on schedule, but I emailed the day before and they said it wouldn't be with me in the next week and then was dispatched the next day. Which was very strange and they didnt offer me a refund they just automatically sent it out. When started putting up the playhouse, a lot of the slats for the base and roof was all bowed and where it had been tapped together they was all squashed meaning we couldn't use these slates of wood so had to go out and buy more, it all came wrapped in plastic and was all wet inside, causing the wood to warp and also couldn't use these as these where bent. I The wood doesn't line up when putting it together, the plastic for the windows are bigger then the frame, the door on the house isn't straight so thats made a big gap from the door to the other side of the frame so had to put a peice of wood in between to that there's no gap and because the door frame isn't straight the door doesn't shut. The stand for inside for the upstairs the wood are different lengths. Had to go out and buy more wood, which i shouldn't have to as it cost nearly £800 for this playhouse. Ive emailed the company 5 times and also messaged on the portal and sent all photos over and they replied once asking for photos which i have already sent. Said i would get regular tracking for this on day of delivery but we had nothing apart from the day of arrival email. If your looking to buy anything, especially if its for a child please look else where, i really do wish I read the reviews before ordering from this company. They really dont care about the customers. The gentleman that delivered this was a lovely man and was very helpful. Quality of wood is rubbish. I would attach all photos if i could. I really was hoping after reading the reviews that I was going to leave a 5* as when i spoke to someone from the company about the reviwes they told me not to worry, but obviously not and ive had a bad experience like many others in these reviews.

The greenhouse was delivered on time I am very happy and can't wait to start growing in it. All my neighbours are quite jealous now I have treated it the honey colour is fabulous.

Thieves, nothing short of liars and thieves.

Never under any circumstances give these incompetent lying clowns any money for anything

Do not go here very bad build received mine got the base level none of the tongue and grooves match. started the roof today building the trusses all of them are out it was very bad. we ended up building are own roof loads better very cheaply made must of been a trainee who built it. Don't waste your money plus customer service terrible on the phone for an hour they dropped it on me. Big mistake lesson learned.

I really love my Billy oh greenhouse. It looks amazing. It took a while for delivery but I appreciate that it has to be made. Communication was excellent, instructions were very informative. Very pleased with the price too.
