Would not recommend

3 out of 4 plants (gifts) delivered. Upon realising one was missing, and it being shortly before Christmas, I emailed to see if the other would arrive on time. This was before Christmas, it's now near the end of January, and I have had no response from the merchant.
Would not recommend. Will not use again.

Persimmon I ordered was dead on arrival with no roots whatsoever when removed from pot and soil supplied.Taking the opportunity to take a photograph, I brought the plant in and laid it on the tiles of our kitchen for clear recording of the image. I contacted immediately only to be told that removing from the pot would have stressed out the dead stick. Be warned and do not deal with organisations that charge for providing a dead bareroot plant and then try to justify themselves.

My antivirus app flagged up that my account details had been hacked. Advice: change your password. I duly tried to sign in but my account is suspended and the UK website does not operate. I can do nothing.
I'm not aware that this has led to any fraud, but it is highly irritating to see the red alarm signal all the time. I either ignore it and risk overlooking another hack or check it out and waste time.

No customer care

they sent half of my order ,and after 25+ emails eventually admitted there "mistake" still waiting for my refund... there contact number on PayPal is a "dud" , I have asked them on several emails to either post my remaining half of order, or send courier to collect half order from me and refund my money, there reviews on this site tells alot about this COMPANY,, BUYERS BEWARE, I only tried to cancel order AFTER,not Before your delivery to me of half of my order, it took you 25+emails and 3 days to admit to your mistake, I told ye to send the remaining part of my order, or arrange collection of half order ye sent to me and refund me my money, I had to make contact with PayPal to get a reaction from ye , so again BUYERS BE VERY AWARE OF THIS COMPANY READ COMMENTS LEFT BY OTHER CUSTOMERS ON THIS FORUM, please do not pre judge PayPal outcome unless they have contacted you before me, which is not there policy,I also only requested a refund from PayPal AFTER I asked you to arrange collection of the half order that you delivered , so your half stories will fool nobody, easy to see why ye have a poor rating with TRUST PILOT

Your review simply forgot to specify that you wanted to cancel the order while it was in transit we kindly had asked you to refuse the packages. You were obnoxious from the beginning with the customer service and you opened a PayPal dispute of €177.95 while the packages were in transit for a delivery in 4-5 working days which is announced on the site but which seemed to you too long. We offered you with apologize to send back the missing goods for an amount of €43.40 but PayPal warned us in time of the open dispute.
You claimed and lectured us that you had never opened a PayPal dispute, playing with the words complaint, dispute, claim, etc. When our customer service department confronted you with the fact by showing you a screenshot of the PayPal dispute, you left this negative comment. The only option we had was to submit your case to Paypal. In accordance with our guarantee and Paypal you were offered a partial refund or a full refund in exchange for the return of the goods in the amount of €134.95 that you tried to avoid paying in in a brutal and inappropriate manner. For your information the case will be closed and judged in our favor.

The plants WERE AMAAAZING!! at first, I tried to contact their Email box and it had a problem but they fixed it immediately! It would be really nice if they could just add more description on how to plant them and how to care for them! but the delivery was really fast and the plants are super super cute!!!

Poor quality plants and poor quality service

Received a very unhealthy plant that was considerably smaller than advertised on website, lots of back and forth emails with customer service asking for additional photos etc then told to wait until 30 days and come back - plant is now nearly dead so replied to customer service after 30 days but was told that the 30 day guarantee is now expired and they cannot access my order.

Prices might look good but quality of plants is very poor. Save yourself the time and shop elsewhere.

EDIT: Reply from company below is tantamount to gaslighting and is very far from a fair representation of the objective truth (I have the full email thread with this information), the plant has been unhealthy since arrival and my review is the reality of my experience yet I am being accused of being untruthful - not what I would expect from a reputable company and just another reason to avoid gardens4you.

EDIT (2): I requested either a full refund *OR* a replacement - I categorically never requested both (to say that I did is 100% a lie from gardens4you), I do not have crazy expectations and I do not want anything for free but I honestly feel like I have received extremely poor service and an extremely inferior product for the price that was paid - the only reason this issue is being aired in public is the total failure to resolve the problem via private email despite multiple requests. I was sold a plant that was both extremely unhealthy (it was not "light damage" to one leaf - another lie) and approximately 20cm shorter than advertised (it was not 4cm shorter - another lie from gardens4you - although I note the company have now edited their reply to remove this lie), the emails sent highlighting this issue were sent within the 30 day guarantee period (to say otherwise is yet another lie from gardens4you), there are two sides to a story but there is one email thread with all the basic facts of this issue so it's not really a subjective matter. To end this conversation from my side, I can only apologise to gardens4you for having unreasonable expectations and wanting to receive what is advertised on the gardens4you website.

EDIT (3): For the old order that was mentioned below the Aloe Vera was dead on arrival and the Dracaena was in such bad condition that is still not recovered over 6 months - I decided to give you another chance even though this order was mostly poor quality but it is a similar experience again only this time a lot of bad attitude for some reason. Nothing about this experience disturbs me, but I don't appreciate being lied to - you say the plant was young and would grow quickly but then it was my fault due to poor care that the plant did not recover - the plant was unhealthy when it arrived and if you cannot see this then you are either clueless on plants or you are being dishonest - either way not a company worth my time. It has been a very poor customer experience, if other potential customers can be forewarned before dealing with you then that is all I want.

On the first photo we received the Monstera was supposed to be 60cm long and was shorter than the announced size (we informed you that a living product could have a slight difference in size depending on the period of growth or not, which you refused to admit, hence our numerous conversations by email). A leaf of the Monstera presented a light damage we then proposed you immediately 60% of reduction which you accepted since the Monstera are very robust and that the plant produces new stems and leaves in less than 3 weeks. We had clearly indicated to you to come back within the month of the guarantee, that is to say 30 days, if ever the plant was not 100% restored, which you cannot deny.
Unfortunately, the 30 days having largely passed since more than a week, the order is definitively closed and we no longer have access to it. Our comment in its entirety has the merit, contrary to yours, of being fair and of restoring the only truth about this order. For information if you continue to water the plant without letting the soil dry between each watering you can definitely put it in the trash in less than a week, we have warned you.

Edit : There are always two sides to the story and we have given our side of the story which you seem to want to deny us in a public way. It is true that our customer service is so bad and our products so horrible that you absolutely wanted to receive a new plant for free in addition to the refund...
To end this conversation, which we sincerely regret, we declined the request for a replacement and refund because the warranty date had expired, nothing else.

Edit 2: All customers having the last 20 years placed an order on our site know that we have never refused a replacement or a refund and you know it very well because on the order of 3-1053737 of 15/02/2022 you had benefited in the month of the guarantee a refund of 100% or €7.35 for an Aloe Vera Plant 13 cm and 50% or €9.48 for a draceana Standard at €18.95 which did not suit you at the time and which you had asked the refund we still have the photos and emails.
From the moment we have a right of reply it is obvious that it disturbs, especially when the truth is restored. We wish you good luck with your future purchases from the competition, who will be happy to help you.

Below we decided to publish the original message that was send to you the a month ago :Wednesday 5 October 2022 at 5:26PM CET

Good day,

Thank you for your reply and picture.
We supply relatively young plants so they require little adjustment and will continue to grow quickly.
We understand that the Monstera does not meet your expectations. However, we would like to propose that you wait a little longer to see how it develops over the next 3 weeks.

If it has not recovered or grown by then, we will be happy to arrange a compensation within the 1-month warranty.

We thank you for your response.

Kind regards,
Customer service

Poor all round

I have ordered from this company as they have a good range of plants which seem to be reasonably priced until they arrive and you see they are bare slips! Can beat going to a garden centre. Customer service poor also.

Tri-coloured Buddleia - turned into just pink

I bought a Tri-coloured Buddleia back in April 2020, the first season it didn't flower at all, but it has now got growing. Although the bush appears very healthy and I can't fault that, it looks like I've been sent 3 pink bushes in the pot and not "tri-colour."

I bought standard goldcrest trees last year, wanted to leave a review and attach a photo on their website how beautiful they are in a row with lots of large white pebbles, they've grown a lot. Unfortunatelly I can't review their products on their website and can't attach any photo here. They really made my garden beautiful!

We advertise nursery plants cultivated outdoor grown without fertilizers or chemicals. Our plants are also guaranteed 1 year, so you can still send us photos of the products, if these are still under warranty. Orders on our site are evaluated via the independent Trusted shops site which is somewhat the equivalent of Trust pilot. Moreover all the customers reviews are evaluated and verifiable, therefore real.

Refuse to refund their mistake

Last year I ordered two “Hydrangea macrophyla Bouquet Rose shrubs” from this company, and while they arrived in good condition, now this year that they are finally in bloom, I can see they are actually white lacecap hydrangeas and are completely different from what I ordered. The company asked me if I “was sure” that I purchased these from them and not another company, to which I replied yes, because I only have two hydrangea in my garden and have the order receipt in my inbox. I politely asked for a refund, but they’re saying it’s “beyond the one year warranty” so there’s nothing they can do. Very disappointing experience considering I spent a year growing these only to them be completely wrong, and for them to then wash their hands of it and try to say it’s “past the one year warranty” is ridiculous when it’s clearly THEIR mistake, and has nothing to do with the health of the plants. As a customer in the UK our rights state that we have the option to receive replacement plants up to six years after purchase due to these possibilities, but they are refusing to help me. Of course they don’t ship to the UK anymore due to Brexit, so this is impossible as well. Avoid.

Update: This company is now trying to gaslight me in their response below by insinuating that it's *my* fault and that I must have purchased these plants elsewhere. I have already explained to them that I only own two hydrangeas in my garden, and both were ordered from them. I have the original receipt from them, quoted it in my original message to customer service, and sent them photos of how the original plants arrived. I grew these plants myself for the past year. To say that I bought them elsewhere is really funny. To continue this kind of petty jab at me over a £20 refund is quite sad, and I feel sorry for all the other customers they've taken advantage of. At this point it's not even about the money—it's about being treated like a liar.

We declined the guarantee after several emails insisting from you for several reasons that we have discussed with you.
The first is that the warranty has passed, we always offer a one-year warranty your order dates from June 2020. the second is that we have been working for 30 years with the same producers and suppliers and that the hydrangeas that you present to us in photos are not not even offered on our site. Look carefully, you will certainly find the seller or the initial store, the fact of presenting our order form by email does not mean that the plants in your photo have been bought on our site since we do not offer them for sale and to culture.

Update: We do not try absolutely anything, we do not offer this plant for sale and none of our suppliers offers it moreover the warranty has expired for 6 weeks. It's honest in a world of fairness to admit your wrongs and not always try to get your own "truth" out.

Excellent service

The plants arrived earlier than expected and in pristine excellent condition! I ordered 2 bonsai and looked exactly the same as shown in the photo! The packaging are well thought of. Bravo! I even received a gift (yellow dahlia seed) from them as a thank you for purchasing the plants. Will definitely order again! 😊👌👍👍

I purchased 3 plants which arrived…

I purchased 3 plants which arrived barely alive and my purchase ended up being a rescue mission.
I complained to this company and they basically told me that the plants suffer in transit and that i should try and save them.
I was under the impression because of the .ie address on the website that they were local but now realise the plants get shipped from overseas…no wonder they were almost dead!

REPLY: Erm..these plants needed more than a little water. The hydrangea was basically a stalk with 3 dead leaves on it. I'd happily show pictures here but I can't. These plants would never be put on display to sell in a garden centre...because no-one would pay full price for a dying plant. I regret buying from you and I will never do so again. I was unsatisfied by your response at the time and I wrote back to you telling you that I would write an online review if you didn't refund my purchase. You had your chance to resolve this and you didn't. I suggest you treat your customers more respectfully if you don't like poor reviews!

REPLY: 20% reduction is insulting. I told you that in an email which you chose to ignore. Now you are having a public spat with a customer when all you should have done is apologised and refunded me in the first place as other decent companies would. I bought plants in good faith and based on the “happy reviews” that pop up on your website. I didn’t buy plants to have to try and rescue stalks!
So you can let me know when you have issued my full refund and we can close this matter. Thank you!

8th July 2021: still waiting for my full refund.

1st May 2022: Plants didn't survive - never did get my refund and just for the record, the seller deleted all but one of their responses to me...they also edited their response to imply that they were clear all along about the transit - let me assure you this was never made clear!
Don't just take my word for it - have a read of the shockingly rude and defensive responses from their customer service people to see just how awful this company is to do business with.

From experience we know that the plants must soak in a little water on arrival, it is necessary to do it after 4-5 days of journey to Ireland with 25°C outside to take this into consideration otherwise it is better to buy locally. We have offered you the option of planting these plants and getting a refund if they do not grow. the fact that we are based in the Netherlands is no secret and clearly mentioned on our site but also on the address.

Reply: Here below is the answer by email we gave you according to the photos received, you cannot say that we did not do anything, we offered you a 20% reduction and we guaranteed you 100% refund if the plants did not have the desired growth this summer.

Thank you for your email and the photos. It was hot very hot during the transit the plants need water and a little time to recover.
Of course we are sorry to hear that . Please accept our sincere apologies.
We expect that your plants will recover with time, once planted they should grow normally but to compensate we have arranged 20% discount for this order.
Your guarantee will last if the plants do not recover or establish to your satisfaction.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

With kind regards,
The Customer Service

So so disappointing and no customer service feedback

To say I was shocked and disappointed at what I received, is a total understatement.
I basically got, something that wasn't much more than a branch.
And didn't have the courtesy to reply to 2 emails, which made the situation so much worse.

Will NEVER order again and would certainly never recommend
