Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of products, citing issues such as battery failures, buttons not working, and devices not performing as advertised. People also frequently found the prices to be too high, especially given the perceived lack of reliability and recurring problems with their purchases. A large number of consumers reported negative experiences with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach. Some reviewers also felt that the company's service, in general, was poor, with issues like long processing times for repairs and a lack of support for product malfunctions.

How to lose a customer- Edge 840

How to lose a customer!
Its incredible how Garmin dont care about their loyal customers. (Scale, Epix 2, Hr band and Edge 130, 830 and 840)
My EDGE 840 (from 10/23) its total unreliable and the only solution they offer is to send the unit for around 10 days for an update.
Done that and still the same issues with navigation and communication with Garmin Connect.
GPS for a bike is critical for a MTB in the forrest and i can rely on something that costs 400 euros and only show "error calculating route"
Selling it while its under warranty and moving on to Hammerhead or Wahoo.
Don't recommend their products!

Charging problems Forerunner 45

My Forerunner 45 has stopped charging after barely 2 years of use. I follow the instructions to clean the contact points. The problem however is that the contact cable/watch is worn out. The same happened before with my Fenix HR3, again after 2 years. The charging design is not up to the requirements of a sports watch. it makes the watch very expensive. I am a careful but heavy user. I will switch to another make watch.

UK MD bad

Well this from the UK … Company employee assaulting and endangered a drone pilot in the public area outside. Really terrible attitude towards a legal activity. Didn’t have a clue about the law or CAA legislation yet tried to snatch the controller from an operators hand while in flight and near electrical pylons.

Have been trying to register my new Inreach Mini 2 for three days and customer service can't help. It just doesn't work and they claim an outage in registration but aren't fixing it and it doesn't show up on their outage page. They are selling $400 bricks!

Inreach subscription wrongfully billed 3 times over

Got a subscription for an inreach device for the one unit I have registered with their service. Garmins first bill is for 3 times that, and they withdraw 3 times the money despite having no devices to attribute this to.

So far no reply on emails demanding they return the wrongfully billed money they took.

Navionics Boating App: Unprofessional Behaviour

After completing the trial, I am unable to purchase a subscription.

As a skipper, I’ve spent a significant amount of time planning routes for the next month after moving from another app. I need to use this service for my upcoming clients in just one day.

However, I’ve encountered issues on all my devices when attempting to purchase a subscription:

Phone: The process goes through accepting payment but then displays an error message after completion.

iPad: An error message appears immediately when I press subscribe.

Navionics Web: The purchase button remains unclickable, preventing any purchase.

Garmin Web: An "invalid quantity" error message appears, blocking the purchase.

I later discovered after plunging into depths of information (not immediately apparent) that recently a subscription requires an operating platform of 2.0 or higher, which my current devices do not support.

Why allow a free trial or app download if purchasing a subscription is impossible for my setup? Moreover, why not relay this compatability information immediately.

This has caused significant stress, affected my business, and wasted a considerable amount of my time.

Moreover, none of the support numbers provided on the websites work, which is highly unprofessional.

Please address these issues urgently. It is mind-blowingly unprofessional.

Garmin should work on the delivery timelines & portal

Garmin needs to invest in their logistics and their tech side of business in the Netherlands. Really frustrating when placing an order on the portal as orders keep getting cancelled and money not refunded. Even if we manage to place an order then the delivery timelines are the worst in business. We could get products from across the globe faster than this. Please look into this Garmin team, as the customer support also doesn't have much idea about what needs to be done.

Incapable of fixing their products.

Bought a garmin vivomove HR, the screen stopped working, contacted the company but they are not able to fix this product because they are clearly trying just to squeeze more money out of me by making me pay £130 extra to upgrade the watch instead. This is ridiculous .

Ordered the Forerunner 255 music, order got cancelled for me.

Ordered the Forerunner 255 music, hoping that it would come within 5-6 weeks for shipping, happy to weight, 2 months later they cancel my order for me, without asking with no compensation, quoting 'Product is not available' but it's still listed in their website shipping between 2-3 weeks. Worst customer experience I've ever had.

Buy elsewhere

Brought a charger lead £35 not had it for 12 months and it doesn’t work. Provided proof of purchase and they still expect me to pay for another one. Fair enough if it’s out of warranty but they actually advertise on their website products have 12 months warranty.

The reason they gave me is because my Garmin watch is out of warranty (Fenix 6S so not a cheap purchase) this makes the warranty void on the lead - something everyone should be aware of.

Bad Experience

I can only note a very poor delivery and customer service:
- tracking of the parcel stuck on 'shipped' status and no tracking of the attempted (if any) delivery;
- no telephone call from the courier and/or text message or other kind of communication advising you that the parcel could be picked up at the UPS point.
- suddenly in the tracking, it appears that the parcel has already been sent back to the sender without any possibility of even picking it up;
- what's more, I have to remember to check in 2/3 weeks for a refund!?

Very poor and low quality experience that I did not expect from Garmin.

Do not buy a Garmin product if you want to keep it upto date

Have owned a Garmin camper 770 satellite navigation system for 5 years although hardly used so decided to update the mapping before putting into use this year, updated though Garmin express app on my computer without problem & said the update was complete, on disconnecting the whole unit went dead & would not switch back on, after checking on the internet & the Garmin website had no alternative than to contact there customer support, speaking to a representative I was told as it was caused by there software if I could supply the serial number of the unit a replacement satellite navigation would be sent out, what great customer service I thought & duly supplied said info via an email they sent, well that’s where the great customer service ended, sorry I was told because my satellite navigation was no longer made the best they would do is give me 30% discount on a new unit, so hang on a minute your software has disabled my satellite navigation but you want to sell me another one !! What a disgrace they are, using there software to disable customer units to increase there sales. After several emails I was offered a refurbished unit for £110, well why on earth would I ever buy another product from Garmin when it could be disabled anytime with there update app, absolutely disgusting customer service & terrible product stay clear at all cost

Trying to get hold of somebody Gavin…

Further to my below review a new watch was offered and member of staff on reception was to be investigated.

The old watch was collected and new one apparently has the wrong street name for delivery, even though it’s the same address that Garmin arrange for my old watch Sam collected from so I don’t know whether it’s Sam or UPS.

I’ve tried raising a complaint with a member of the customer services team and it was like pulling teeth. I had no expectation as to what will be delivered now I was so it could be anywhere up to around 3 to 4 days is the weekend so probably the end of next week, when I asked what the cool pack send me some of the agreement was from Manchester, call me back I was tired. I don’t know so Christ knows when I’m gonna get a call back from a manager to sort this out.

**********************************************
Trying to get hold of somebody Gavin head office is near impossible although on the occasion I did today and spoke to somebody on reception. She was incredibly rude and now won’t pick up the phone each time I call back just ring out even though I’ve emailed Jon Oliver, the CEO of Gsrmin. Unfortunately, I’m still not had anything from him, but hopefully when I explain about the lazy reception who didn’t even give me a chance I was autistic trying to explain clearly what I wanted she just to speak to put the phone down

I got my first garmin watch on sale at…

I got my first garmin watch on sale at amazon over a year ago Venu sq2 and so far the watch has been great but after the recent app update I never thought much about it other than everything looks a little different but anyway the other night I went to bed with a full charge on the watch and in the morning it was not working so I contacted customer service and I tried various things like pressing buttons to try and restart it but eventually I plugged in the charger and it came back to life, for some reason the battery charge had drained overnight so conclusion was that the app update had somehow caused the battery to drain, so after charging it up , I’ve been keeping an eye on it and so far the charge is working again normally, I honestly thought that the batteries had worn out and might need replacing but thankfully it was not the batteries, hopefully will run another year at least before batteries need replacing but probably by that time it might worth buying a new watch or different model.

I have used the Garmin Instinct 2

I have used the Garmin Instinct 2 - Solar for 6 months now and here is what I think people should know:

1. Do NOT buy the solar version:
In their commercials they claim that you would never need to charge it. So far I have never saved a single day because of charging, so I did a test where I checked the battery level and put it for half an hour straight into the sun, it charged 1%. However, when you have the watch on your wrist its unlikely that it is facing the sun like this.

2. The training "coach" is unscientific:
It is very clear that the scientific consensus is a polarized training plan is best for overall training benefits, however, the app uses a pyramid training plan.

3. Base training pushes you into zone 3:
If the watch suggests a base training, it goes by pace rather than heart rate. This means that as soon as you have some hills you will go to a heart rate which is beyond what you should do in a base training. But even on a flat my heart rate frequently goes into mid zone 3.

4. It associates the wrong load type to training sessions:
I find especially if I do a spin class followed by a base run, it will associate a base training with the spin class as well.

5. The status "Maintaining" is not well explained:
Most of the time the app states that I am Maintaining my fitness, even if my load is Optimal and my HRV is balanced. It does not give good explanations why this is.

6. The race mode does not provide a useful display:
I dont know who designed the race mode function, but I dont think it was someone who runs him/herself. I think it would be great if you could give a pace you want to run in and it would alert you if you go over or under. Instead it gives you a weird "person" icon which shows when you step (very useless to concentrate on while you are in a competition)

7. Customer Service:
I have written Garmin an email about these concerns, while they did reply sufficiently on the solar issue (not that they admitted false advertisement), they didnt give me any more indication why their app is so wrong, they just send me the website links, which didnt answer any of my questions.

Would I recommend the Garmin Instinct 2:
Not really, it has nice features to it, but I think these are also covered by a cheaper watch. If you still decide to get it, dont get the solar version.

InReach Failed to Send Messages

I purchased an InReach a while back and had been successfully using it on several trips.

On a recent mountaineering trip I was messaging my partner - however, on the second day of the trip only the message that we were heading to the summit sent. The others were delivered to Garmin (and visible on the website) but were not forwarded to my partners phone.

As she'd received the message that we were attempting to summit and no further messages she (understandably) got quite worried (I was still receiving her messages), and a rescue was organised.

When I contacted Garmin support we went around in circles for 4 months and nothing happened, and they declined to refund the months subscription.

Makes it hard to trust the device, and was a pretty unpleasant experience.

Screen cracked after one month!!

Ordered through the website and received my Garmin Forerunner 55 on 28/02/2024. Just over a month later (3/04/2024) the screen cracked when I knocked it ever so slightly. This is a sportswear watch that you’d expect to be durable, but one tap and it’s cracked right down the middle. Contacted customer service and the best they can do is replace the entire watch for £100- I paid for £116 for the watch in the first place so paying another £100 just over a month later is absolutely obscene! So disappointed. I absolutely don’t recommend this watch as it’s clearly not designed to last.
