Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of products, citing issues such as battery failures, buttons not working, and devices not performing as advertised. People also frequently found the prices to be too high, especially given the perceived lack of reliability and recurring problems with their purchases. A large number of consumers reported negative experiences with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach. Some reviewers also felt that the company's service, in general, was poor, with issues like long processing times for repairs and a lack of support for product malfunctions.

Garmin TACX Neo - Avoid buying it!

Two months ago I bought a new Tacx Neo2t and 10 minutes after the first ride it smelled like burning and the resistance was gone. Luckily I was able to send it back to the shop and avoid a big headache with Garmin support, which is the worst.

Today, while having a good session on my older Neo2T, I had the same problem with the fan blowing all out, and no more resistance. Too bad this was already a replacement for the same problem I had back in 2021 and the hometraininer is no longer under warranty. In other words, this is the third time a Neo2T has died like this.

I strongly recommend avoiding Garmin's home trainers as they are not built to last and support is extremely poor and extremely expensive.

Charging your credit card whenever they want

I wanted to buy wrist band from Garmin, but they declined my credit card couple of times. That is fine, I bought from another company. Suddenly after 2 weeks, they just charged from my card and sent me wrist band. Is it even legal for unauthorized charge of Credit Card?
Funny thing, since I do not need wrist band anymore, I have to pay to delivery company for returning wrist band...
The first and the last time that I use Garmin services.

Worst Customer Service/possible scam

Worst Customer Service and possibly a scam.
I placed order 108214558918. The item showed in stock but it didn't ship. I looked on the site for updates but it just said "processing". After 3 weeks I asked online for a cancellation as it wasn't shipped and had no shipping date. They refused. I had to go to the point of giving them one more day for a cancellation then making a Paypal claim and only then would they cancel and refund.
So Garmin.cm cannot deliver Garmin products and will only allow you to cancel once you threaten them. Never again.

Beware!!

Beware!!

The cheaper Garmin Echomap UHD2 cv models cannot read AIS sentences from your AIS receiver. (Neither NMEA 0183 nor NMEA 2000)

The dearer Garmin Echomap uhd 1 (older) and Echomap UHD2 sv can read NMEA 2000 sentences only.

Garmin Marine Technical Support also told me that Garmin’s most expensive GPSMap models do support both NMEA 0183 and 2000, but there were no plans, at present, to upgrade the cheaper models to support this vital safety service, AIS, either on NMEA 0183 or 2000.

So if like me, you believe such a large and well respected company like Garmin would automatically include AIS support on all their navigational equipment, think again.

If you sail, motor or fish in say the busy waters of the Solent, do NOT expect to enjoy the added safety factor given by AIS.
Save up for a bit longer to afford the dearer Garmin models, starting at over £250 more, or buy from a company that does give this essential feature. (Many seamen in the 21st century, have found AIS easier to use than radar.)
I was using AIS on my old Standard Horizon at least 14 years ago, so AIS is not new.

No Customer Support

No Customer Support. Claim to be environmentally responsible and support sustainability. Sorry, but nothing could be further from the truth. Products have to be thrown into landfill because just a bit of support is too much hastle for Garmin. Website is designed to avoid you making contact with a human, even by email.
I do not call a pathetic List of FAQs Support. Yet another company that thinks its a good idea to set up a Forum for customers to waste time trying to fix glitches of Garmin's making - DISGUSTING. Their software riddled with errors - and the 'Expert' is asking the poor customer "what caused the error?" after they have explained in full what happened. Yet the Garmin software throws up the error message without a hint of what went wrong! So how is the poor customer got a chance? ONLY GARMIN can answer what causes these glitches and they seem to burying their heads in the sand, pretending all is great! Garmin need to employ Support Staff to solve these issues. Cannot buy Garmin anymore as I do not want to put anymore of their junk into landfill.

Very helpful Customer service team

Have owned various Garmin watches, I did have an issue with one particular model however the customer service team made it super easy and the device was actually replaced twice due to same issue with the strap but always without any hassle or fuss. Quick return of original item and replacement sent . Since I have upgraded there was a small software error and customer service contacted me right away with information on how to resolve it quickly and easily at home. Only reason it is not 5 stars is because I have had to return items and had the few faults but its technology it happens.

Very poor product

Very poor product.

I bought a garmin 6 ( it tasted just under 3 years and it stopped tracking elevation and steps ) £400 watch

I have bought 2 HRM pro and the first one stoped working after 4 months and the second one 2 years and one week after I brought it ( funny that the warranty lasted for 2 years )

Now I have brough a 600£ fenix 7!!!

I’m definitely going to swap companies after this watch is finished!!

If you want products that only last 12-24 months then buy these cheaply made products!!!

Shipment takes much longer

Website claims ready for shipment in 1-3 workingdays. After 5 working days, I received an email that the parcel is ready for shipment and expected delivery is in 6 days. As it is a gift, it will arrive too late.

Great customer service this time round!

Had a very good experience with Garmin customer service recently (they have improved since our last interaction about 6 years ago when they were terrible).
I had a problem with my watch which they could not solve however they did come up with a good solution and were really helpful and speedy in fixing the issue so I'm very happy with the help that I received this time.

AVOID GARMIN- Zero customer service after purchase!

Considering its an 'Adventure/activity' watch brand, it doesn't stand up to much! That aside there is ZERO customer services- just offer a £130 replacement... can get a whole new watch online for £116 so that definitely doesn't figure!
All it needs is a quick screen replacement as I'm sure they will replace screen happily enough to sell on refurbished and double their money at a customers expense! 3 months old and useless equipment. £200 better spent on other brands.

The watches are fine but the customer…

The watches are fine but the customer service and attitude is really bad. We have had two watches in 3 years. The first one stopped charging so they replaced it under the 2 year warranty. On the second one, now out of warranty, the strap has broken and, get this, it cannot be replaced. Instead they suggested we buy a new watch at a cost of £64. When I told them I could get it on Amazon for £60 they told me to buy it. To me this shows a total disregard of their customers and to the environment as this watch will now go into landfill. Take out advice and buy a Fitbit or, tbh, anything but Garmin

Delivery timeliness can't be trusted

I can't yet provide a review on its product but I can recommend anyone interested in a garmin product not to order from Garmin directly. It has been 3 weeks since I put an order through and the item is still not dispatched. When I contacted to.find out why it wasn't dispatched I was told stock would get replenished by the following week. I waited and nothing was sent that week. I contacted them again and now been told I have to wait 3 extra weeks, it is ridiculous. Their stock management and customer service is very poor and disappointing. Can't believe they don't have a more sophisticated system to manage demand and supply!

Worst company to deal with and worst…

Worst company to deal with and worst customer support I ever seen! Waiting for a package but for some reason on the way to my address was returned to the sender and they can check that they received it the returned package! The package is there from last week, Garmin don’t know it’s there and after 3 weeks I still don’t have my item!

Unacceptable customer care…

Ordered a Garmin watch a present for my girlfriend. Was notified it would be delivered on 17th November 2023. It wasn't. 3 phone calls and 2 emails over the next 2 weeks, I had to chase them each time, and I was finally was offered a replacement or refund. I opted for a replacement, and was promptly informed it was out of stock for at least 2 weeks! Cancelled my order. Went on to a major retailer's website and purchased it from there with no problems. Lots of poor reviews here for Garmin, and it is easy to see why. Disgusting customer service and total lack of communication.

Internal mess at Garmin. Where is my bike computer?

My bike computer screen delaminated and I contacted Garmin support. They offered a replacement unit.
All I had to do was return the defective unit and they would send me another.
I returned it one month ago. I have the tracking number to prove it has been delivered and signed for by Garmin. BUT in their "customer service" ticketing system it is still flagged as not received.
I contacted support who in writing twice confirmed that the unit was in fact received and signed for.
A few more days I was told and it should be all good.
Well it has now been a month and I am told to be patient. How long can it take to open a box?

Garmin customer service non-existent

Garmin customer service non-existent. Rude live chat advisers, apparently no complaints department and cut off mid chat. All for trying to get an update on a delivery of an item that was out of stock and wouldn't be available for 5 weeks...none of this outlined at time of purchase and I had to chase up myself why my item hadn't been dispatched. They advised it was impossible to give courtesy updates regarding delivery delays, but are happy to spam me with new product emails. Finally got in touch with the closest thing they have to a customer service rep who told me they were sorry how I thought the chat may have went.

First and last time I but a Garmin…

First and last time I but a Garmin watch.£600 for the Fenix 7X solar sapphire after two months it started to reboot itself during the hike application.... The problem with that is if you don't notice that it's happened then you are walking and it's missing the walk as it's rebooted onto resume which means you have to hike miles staring at the watch. It's a common issue judging by the forums. Had to go through loads of instructions to fault find non of which worked, only to find out that they will only replace with a refurbished watch! And on top of that it could take two weeks to get it back. Never again.
