Gaucho - Liverpool Branch

I traveled to Liverpool to watch a football match, and due to a change in my return plans, I had to cancel the reservation I made two days earlier. However, they still charged me for the booking even though I notified them at 1pm about cancelling an 8pm dinner reservation, which is not strictly well within their 24‑hour cancellation policy but is still enough time . I don’t believe this reflects ‘fairness’, as I don’t see how the restaurant has incurred any genuine loss. They almost certainly re‑filled the table, so there was no financial impact to them. On that basis, this clause in the cancellation policy appears to be an ‘unfair term’, which I intend to challenge. I will also be pursuing this under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
Additionally, the experience during the cancellation call was quite poor—the tone felt rude, as if they rely on cancellation fees rather than genuine customer service

Food

Went for a meal on 28th february 2026 friend had discount for 25 % off food refused to take this then after a dispute did honour it. Food was luke warm and service charge was whacked on 30 quid extra on bill. Nice setting and waitress was polite and professional.food not worth the money and basically a rip off

Gaucho Richmond

Having had a lovely time booking at Gaucho in Richmond. We would like to mention how nice the food was and the waitress Oksana needs a raise. She really made the experience worth going again. Thank you.

Unpleasant afternoon

We attended Gaucho Leeds Saturday afternoon. It ended up been a really unpleasant afternoon. First of all I tried to order more than 4 soft drink options from the menu that were not available. Then I got a drink that the waiter said they might have some left, this tasted of, stagnant water. In the end I stuck with the warm water I was supplied with. I went to the ladies upon my return I had to jump out of the way of an angry man who was yelling at his neighbouring table. The screaming and shouting swearing continued until one table left. This made us feel very uncomfortable. But even after this. The staff continued to offer the angry shouting man more menus rather than the bill and a goodbye. To top the whole unpleasant experience my partner got chewing gum from under the table we were sat at on his Armani Jeans. I am really upset as this is a place where we used to feel comfortable and now we don’t. I was going to book this restaurant for an event I won’t be now. I have logged this complaint three times to Gaucho with no reply.

Poor food and serviceWe went with some friends who came from…

We went with some friends who came from Buckinghamshire to Gaucho in Chancery Lane expecting the usual good quality food and service and were very very disappointed. The food came separately, first the steak then the fries then side dishes. Three of us ordered extra sauces but they never arrived until I reminded the waiter that we hadn’t had our sauces and then they turned up as we were finishing our meals. His excuse was ‘we had to warm them first’. He did state that he would not charge us for the sauces. The steak itself was not up to the usual quality that I have come to expect at Gaucho as it was tough to cut. When it came to desert I had to call the waiter over to order and had to wait quite a while before it was served. It appeared to me that staff were more concerned with clearing up ready to close the restaurant.
I would definitely not be going to the Chancery Lane restaurant again.

Really impressed by Mustafa

Great reception, the place smelled amazing upon entry like a very expensive Jo Malone candle..

Asked our preference on arrival which rarely happens due to busyness.

Given the opportunity to taste the house wine, thought asked for wine 2 and was unavailable for tasting.

Set menu limited however it did not disappoint as the best prawns and rump I’ve ever had- high praise!!

The dessert of pancakes for him looked and tasted amazing, sadly the sorbet was a bit of a let down, I was expecting a fruity palette cleanser and the chocolate was not pleasant (too heavy of cocoa and the strawberry pleasant but not for me, the coconut though was refreshing, I thing a lemon or mango sorbet would have been better.

The female bar person was very knowledgeable and pleasant, the best past was the attentive waiter Mustafa from London doing a sports studies degree. Mustafa was a credit to Gaucho, pleasant, polite, attentive and friendly and made the visit better for his ability to engage us.. the sorbet was a minor personal gripe but I would definitely revisit

Overpriced

We went to Gaucho in Edinburgh, from the moment we entered I was disappointed. Their website states “smart casual”. Nobody in my opinion was. There were mostly men in shorts and T shirts. We even had ( and I feel safe saying it) a table of 4 smack heads in base ball caps , shorts, tracksuit tops making regular trips to the toilets being very loud.
The music was too loud and rubbish, you either want a nice clientele or you want chav, you can’t charge what you do and get both,
The food was poor, my sea bass wasn’t grilled, it was burnt.
£20 for a glass of average wine??
I can’t tell you how let down I was with this place, I just wanted to leave, the original plan was to celebrate my 60th here, I’m angry I spent any money here.
Staff were great but you need to enforce your standards for the money you’re charging. That starts for me with the dress code

Lovely!

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The customer service was incredible and all of the staffs i spoke to were very respectful, helpful, supportive and friendly; and the food there is just top tier! I absolutely adored their authentic Steak, and Mac and Cheese. The decor and design in the restaurant is very divine, the warm colours give the restaurant a cozy atmosphere, definitely worth coming here with friends or family.
