Filled out request for my old tumble…

Filled out request for my old tumble drier to be taken away, at a cost of £5

Website said could take up to 28 days

3 days later received notification that item would be removed 2 days later and advised to leave out night before

Picked up 0900 next day

Delighted with this service, as though I use the local Recycle centre a few times a year, this item was too heavy and big to load or put in my car.

Do not expect a response

Still awaiting a response for complaint regarding bins being missed for ten weeks. Unreliable, poor service, costs a fortune. Pay for brown bin permit for it to lay uncollected.

Bulk uplift

Just requested a bulk uplift of a 3 seater and 2 seater settee. Paid the appropriate fee and was emailed the date to leave the settee out for collection. Workers have just come and uplifted the items. No issues, great service and at a time when people are happy to complain, it’s appropriate to praise the council. Well done 👌

Avoid hidden costs

Avoid springburn if hiring from them, the pound you pay in deposit is a license for them to get your bank details, that part I understand, now , I had my mobility car in a company get repaired, non fault, they refuelled the car, £27, I didn’t mind that part, now for the best part, £27.54 for fuel top up, vat £7.18 and fuelledadmin £8.33, , £42.05 taken from my account, so remember when taking your hire back, to keep your receipts and take pics of your dash miles, I’ll know better the next time, beware beware beware of these hire companies, I’ve changed all my bank details since then , incase they come up with anymore reasons, apart from that they do have nice cars,

Rubbish on the pavement

Contacted the council several times now to uplift waste on the street across the road from me and three time I've had an update saying job is complete, two said they were unable to uplift as it's no longer there or on private land (it's on the pavement). Raised a complaint on Monday 11th August 25 and have heard nothing. This has been on going since 30th July. This isn't the only time this has happened, sick of paying council tax and getting nothing in return.
Spending money on unnecessary stuff like George square and bike lanes (barely seen a cyclist on them), when there are far more important issues and they claim they have no money.

DISGUSTING GLASGOW

Why, are the councillors within Glasgow City Council not being taken to task by the electorate ?
I’m ashamed to call myself Glaswegian, especially when I passed the famous Rennie Macintosh Scotland Street School today, which can only be described as looking very sad and derelict” mainly due to the works being halted and the property left neglected!
The building adjacent to the school is also in a bad state of disrepair, making the area look like a city slum !
That coupled with Pollock House remaining closed to the public and no doubt along with many more public buildings !
I fail to understand why the good people of Glasgow are permitting this shower of numpties within our City Chambers, to run our once beautiful city into the ground, it’s shocking to see other cities less affluent than Glasgow, projecting a better image to their visitors!
I shudder to think what our visitors make of this slum image that Glasgow now projects.
What are these numpties doing with our excessive council taxes, apart from lining their own pockets and lucrative pension funds, it’s time the good people of Glasgow made a stance and tell the Councillors “ ENOUGH IS ENOUGH “
and take these parasites to task !

All Councils in Scotland the Recruitment Selection Process is very Racist

All Councils in Scotland the Recruitment Selection Process is very Racist

It’s not about your experience, it’s about your DNA and your racial background

Don’t apply if you’re from an Ethnic Monitory Background

Most Recruiters in Scotland are Racist anyway except the Bus Companies operating in Glasgow where anyone can see diversity exists.

All Councils use Fake Application Form Information , Not a single Council in Scotland is committed to Equality and Diversity !

I can only comment on the recruitment process based on what I have experienced for having applied for many jobs and having all the experience to be offered a basic entry level position but continuously being rejected.

Glasgow City Council disappointing.

Glasgow City Council: Uncontactable, uncommunicative, corrupt, useless. GCC don't even take formal complaints against them seriously. Instead they refer you to the ombudsman who also take no action against them. Elected Councillors are also of no help. Locals all seem resigned to this terrible service.

Worst council possible

Having lived in about 10 council areas over the years, all of which had their own problems, truly Glasgow council is the absolute hands down worst by a country mile. In two different addresses (west end and southside) bins weren't collected for months and even emails to the CEO proved pointless despite visible huge rats running around the bins! All parking, around a park opposite the road that people want to visit, has currently been removed from my current address due to the addition of cycling lanes that aren't being used. Parking currently suspended on the crescent outside my flat for two weeks and counting (was meant to be one week with 2 days notice given). Now discovered I'm the proud owner of two parking tickets given because apparently Rangers are now playing at Hampden with zero notice given to residents who currently can't park anywhere near their own property. Have appealed and will take it to the ombudsman if necessary. Delighted to be leaving the Glasgow city council boundaries soon and escaping the worst council ever. You only have to look around the streets and parks of Glasgow, and how dirty it has become in the last few years to see the council's failures. The highly paid leaders of this outfit should hang their heads in shame for ruining this beautiful city.

Glasgow for 3 years, there is something for everyone

Having lived in Glasgow for 3 years. This city has a mix of good and bad, with the good superseding the bad. The city is rich in history from the ship building industry, to galleries like the Kelvin Grove, Burrell collection and Huntarian museum. The city centre is a hub of high end stores, bars and nightclubs for the city goers, whilst the west end, populated with the famous victorian tenements that have large bay windows, high ceilings and show the history the scottish architecture. The west end has great restaurants and parks to explore. The south side is the new and upcoming area with a influx of young students and families who want good coffee, food and bars. Finally, the city is some of the best universities in Scotland, forging ahead in engineering, finance, arts and biomedical field. The city is close to the highlands and has great accessibility to north and south.
In summary, there is something for everyone in Glasgow, the city comes from a rough past but is full of friendly people who strive to make it a wonderful place to live. I mentioned no bad as the bad stuff you find here, you will find in every other city in the world, but the unique places and experiences of Glasgow are unique and so its worth a visit or even a couple years of residency. Although, I do wish we had a bit less rain and a bit more sun shine.

Be warned

Be warned. If your hotel is in the new green low emission zone, you cannot drive to your hotel unless you are in an EV or PEHV. £60 fine just for dropping your bags at your hotel. Not a tourist friendly city.
