Beyond shocking!

GMX should be embarrassed to call this a service! Uncontactable when issues occur,, and they do. FB page is beyond useless along with their fascially called help page.
Do yourself a favour and DO NOT trust this company with your email security.
Trust Pilot needs to introduce minus stars,
Should GMX have the conscience to reply, go forth and multiply I have moved on to a service who knows what they are doing.

Some emails never arrive to GMX

Emails take a very long time to arrive to GMX. Some emails never arrive. There is no bounce message. Some emails just never arrive that are sent from: GMAIL, ROUNDCUBE, OUTLOOK. And those email addresses emails from which never arrive to GMX are listed in my GMX Whitelist to make sure I receive mail from them. Every mail service provider receive those emails, but not GMX.

Also, there was a massive campaign of display on GMX of those child-abuse and torture ads of cruelty games called "HERO WARS", every time I select "Not Interested In This Ad" or "Ad Was Inappropriate" or "Seen This Ad Multiple Times". I was always promised that those ads will never be shown to me again, but they kept on popping up again and again. Now other places show those ads and gladly GMX does not show them (to me) anymore but it took them years to STOP the "hero wars" abusive ads campaign.

Joke bunch of fools with no customer support in place to deal with issues. I
f i had read these reviews prior to opening an account and setting all our adverting to there email i would of stayed well clear i cant swear but really do want to right now as they are a utter disgrace

I have been with gmx for many years and have been extremely happy with it but a couple of days ago when I tried to get into my accounts and could not and the explanation was in German and the translator didn’t work! I run a business and lack of access is costing me money. I have sent 5 emails asking for help and had no reply! I can not find a phone number anywhere for customer service. I cannot verify my details because I can’t get on the site I can’t change my passwords because I can’t get on the site ?
Very very frustrated

Been using it _ de _ one for a long time and hate it. The de account make you log in 4 times...verification rubbish freezes. No customer service and they bug you sooo much into paying. Full of adverts and scammers. Despite everything it takes 10 mins to log on. Doubt anyone monitors their horrendous worthless and frustrating service..rip off even as free email . They repulsed me and I want to let humanity know everywhere

Probably the Most Inept Company on the Planet Phone them on +49 721 960 9740

Hi, recently set up an account for my wife as we've
changed ISP and wanted unconnected email, so, having set up a GMX account for her she set about informing people and companies of the change, the only emails received were mainly acknowledgements of that.
After a few days GMX stopped working, saying there was a password problem, I knew there wasn't, so raised a ticket, shortly after received another reply saying
' However, because the decision to permanently block an account is based on serious security concerns, it is not possible to reverse it or provide detailed information about the impermissible activity in question.'
As an IT person our security is watertight, so just what the problem was we'll never know as they refuse to inform users, so I decided to phone them in Germany, +49 721 960 9740, the lady who answered spoke in German, which I could not understand, so asked if she would use English, she replied she only spoke German and shortly after put the phone down on me. I rang several more times, each time getting a different person, all said they didn't speak English, and all terminated my call, I can only think they have been told to only use German, as I've yet to meet a German who could not speak English. I suggest a few more of you reading this rattle their cage by phoning them, here's the number again
*** +49 721 960 9740 ***
It would be even better if you could reply in German so it didn't give them an excuse to cut you off.

Don't Touch GMX - Appalling firm and ethics

If I could put a minus figure here there wouldn't be one low enough! I so wish I had read a few of the reviews on here before I even considered using this as a primary alternative email for freelance work.

In simple terms my account has been locked and clearly I have been hacked. Absolutely no response from GMX customer support other than an email stating that a ticket had been issued and someone would look into the situation and get back to me. Probably sent by hackers.

I suspect someone will soon be in touch to ask for payment to unlock it.

Thankfully I have only linked this account to a few people as I have not had it very long.

Just don't touch it - appalling company

Advertisements are active throughout…

Advertisements are active throughout the enter email reading process. The advertisements are highly sexual, degrading and targeted. Meaning that if you have strong Christian values, the ads will reflect the opposite in all areas that are unrelated to your interests. It's really odd and it seems though they are making a strong effort to insult you or convert you?

Tip for consumers:
Vile Nasty Degrading Advertisement: Male Private Body Parts, etc.

Been with GMX 20 Years for Free Email

Been with GMX 20 Years for Free Email. Sadly what was once a great and exciting New Tech Player and contender for Free Email has now become untrustworthy and unreliable.

On the 26th October I became a victim of a phishing scam and my primary email of 20 year was hacked. The hacker turned on 2FA and prevented my access.

After a frantic email to GMX support I was asked to fill out a form for a password reset. I did more than this and sent a copy of my passport.

It was pretty easy with access to my email to establish I was indeed the real owner of the GMX email account, however all they could do is send a password reset code but without 2FA reset I was still locked out of my account.

I explained this via email to GMX support who then still unwilling to reset 2FA offered to schedule the account for deletion.

GMX are unable to verify the account has been deleted or when, despite the hacker rampaging through every single account I have connected with this email address - INCLUDING financial/banking accounts.

ABSOLUTELY Shocking Customer Service after 20 years!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH OPERATING EMAIL ACCOUNTS.

Blocked account

The company have blocked my email account 3 times over a period of just 14 months.
When access is reinstated, all I receive is a generic message telling me that I should run a virus check, change my password, not give my password to a third person and not send out bulk emails.
Virus checks on my computer prove negative, I never give my password to anyone else and never send bulk emails.
My requests for a detailed explanation for each of the account blocks remain unanswered.
Truly terrible service.

Absolutely Horrid Company

What a horrid company and Utter Trash customer service! I used them for years zero issues ever until I suddenly needed them! They locked my account with no notice after i requested for help with missing emails and not seeing the filters on my iphone app! Boom we decided for security reasons it should remain blocked. It was never blocked until that email!!!!!!!!

They stole from me all my personal emails that include from my dead grandfather, my ex and our court case, my sons records from a closed dr, school transactions all my bill account numbers, and none of this crap can go to a new account with out accessing that email account!

On my way to a lawyer to discuss suing for my data and wasting my time. You can’t just steal peoples possessions!

No Access in 8 Months - ZERO SUPPORT

No access in 8 months. No changes. Doesn't work from one day to the other. Last email received on Sept. 22nd 2022. Account active and receives messages. GMX collects data but doesn't allow access. Not the first time. Before someone I know had the same problem at the same time. Magically gone after 1.5 weeks. Not this time. More than 8 months. 30 years IT experience. Newest browsers. Chrome, Firefox... Doesn't work in either of them. Doesn't work in the email client with no changes either. Data saved. No changes, no upgrades. Doesn't work. Doesn't work in the client, doesn't work on the website. Friend have sent emails. No error. I've tested myself. No error. Account receives emails. No access. Written to GMX and 1&1 several times. At this point in time 170 useless email responses in the inbox. Default replies. Nobody's responsible, nobody does anything to solve the problem. Everybody tells you, someone else is responsible. No help. Help pages useless. Contact page and contact useless. New login assistant useless. 1 or 2 default replies, then no replies anymore. Useless password recovery options, no support, no login possible. In more than 8 months! DAILY several login errors in the client. Again and again and again! No reason. This is the most ridiculous thing, the worst service and the worst support I've EVER seen in my life!

I'm Blocked

I was using this email account for my business. Suddenly I'm Blocked due to "irregular activity". I just use it to speak to customers etc. It's not my primary personal account. Doesn't get much traffic (unfortunately)... I clicked the button to send them a message. I explained what it said, next day got a message back saying:
"Dear GMX member,
We have forwarded your request to unblock your account to our security department and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked.
Please note that this is a decision made by our abuse department and we do not have further information we can provide to you.
With kind regards,
GMX International Support"

WHAT?!! Seriously?! No explination, no nothing, just a door slammed in my face. Now I have to edit my web site, contact customers, replace business cards...
WTH?

Android apps arrive in German rather…

Android apps arrive in German rather than English. The change in language happens when attempting to log in and instructions are a page long because gmx refuses to accept the credentials although they are correct. The Cloud used to work. CS has been of no help since they put the blame on FireFox with no explanation or reason. This despite that their own error message states gmx is blocking access to the Cloud. Avoid gmx.
