Small business owner

Small business owner — spent ~$1,000, got zero leads
I run a one-person personal training business and tried Google Ads on a lean budget. Over several months I spent close to $1,000 and did not receive a single lead. The problems weren't on my end: an unauthorized third party had installed fake conversion actions in my account, which trained the system on phantom data. An outsourced support rep then misconfigured a campaign and broke my conversion tracking. Dozens of "recommendations" were auto-applied without my consent, and there were repeated billing-profile errors. My actual click costs were strong (~$1.56/click) — the account setup was simply never functional enough to deliver a real inquiry. I'm currently disputing the spend. I'd urge other small businesses to be extremely cautious, monitor who has access to your account, and turn off auto-apply recommendations from day one.

YOUTUBE IS AN EVIL COMPANY!!!!

Youtube started more openly displaying that it values Profit over user safety trough their ads, regardless of morality and ethics. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Despite explicitly requesting to opt out of alcohol and gambling ads (I dont drink nor gamble!!!!!!), YouTube continues to push them onto your YouTube experience constantly if you're 18+. It is absolutely disgusting that a platform of this scale chooses to hyper-aggresively promote addictive behaviors like gambling and alcohol through deliberate aggressive ads generation restricted to predominantly the most harmful niches (Gambling and alcohol). The ''switch-off'' setting in the Youtube Centre, is nothing more than a look good/protect the company from being sued exercise (IT DOES NOTHING!! YOU STILL GET THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF HARMFUL ADS, JUST DIFFERENT GAMBLING AND ALCOHOL PROVIDERS) By forcing commercials for harmful, addictive services onto users, YouTube is actively contributing to severe financial and health problems. In other words: they dont mind the harm to people their health if it means they can profit of it! Their excuse/justification ? "ads help to keep YouTube free". Yeah Right, what a joke!!! because a multi- hundred billion dollar company still needs ads to keep its service free?? Right!!. The platform has truly sunk to the lowest depths of the barrel, showing its true colors as a corporate entity, that just like the other ''digital crooks'' care nothing for online safety or inflicting long term harm on people or its own community guidelines. YouTube is clearly willing to bend, deviate from, and completely reinvent the interpretation of its own policy guidelines whenever it suits their profit margins. Yet, when they need to protect their public image and reputation, they feed the public a complete lie about caring for user well-being. This is distasteful, disgraceful, and a total atrocity especially for vulnerable populations, individuals on low incomes, and those struggling with poverty, former/pre-existing addictions or recovery. Fix your ad-targeting system and stop exploiting your users for profit.

Google – Ignoring a PIDA 1998 Whistleblower's SAR While Blocking My Trends

I'm posting this here because Google is ignoring my emails and my Subject Access Request (SAR) is running out of time. They know exactly who I am and what I'm asking for.

They sent one auto-reply and nothing else. Under Scots law (Reid v Ross), their silence in the face of a reasonable request is a tacit admission. They cannot claim ignorance.

Funny how I'm suing Virgin Media, yet Virgin's owners are Liberty Global – and you made a cloud deal with them. Is that why you won't answer my emails? Are you the man in the middle? Are they the ones suppressing my data? You won't answer.

They are also blocking my Google Trends data – a clear act of retaliation. I have screenshots. This is evidence tampering and a violation of data protection law.

Google is scared. They know about the Gemini logs and images generated. They know I have the pictures. They know I have invoked Reid v Ross. And they know that retaliating against a PIDA 1998 protected whistleblower is illegal.

My question to Google: Is this a man-in-the-middle attack on your end, or are you deliberately suppressing my data? You've already been caught suppressing whistleblower evidence. You've already been caught nerfing Gemini. You've already been caught monetising telco data with Liberty Global – with plans to implement Gemini across 80 million devices.

This is not a technical issue. This is a pattern of obstruction.

And now I see you're changing your Terms of Service next month. New terms come into force on 30 July 2026. I received your email today.

Your message? "If you don't like it, delete your account."

That's not a choice. That's a threat.

You're a monopoly. You know it. Everyone knows it. You can't just tell people to delete their accounts and walk away – because that turns their smartphone into a brick. Unless they bow to Google.

You are holding billion devices hostage with your TOS update. And you're telling people to just leave if they don't like it? And plan to implement Gemini in 80 million Liberty Global device's

That's not a terms update. That's a shakedown.

My SAR deadline is approaching. Your silence is noted. Your tacit admission is recorded.

This exchange is now permanently archived.

The world is watching. PIDA 1998 is my shield. I have the evidence as YOU know.

Google needs to be shut down

If I could rate the whole Google System 0 stars, I would. I have had multiple issues with their services like YouTube, Maps, Keep, Help, and more. On YouTube, I had experienced issues like false policy violation warnings on my video last year. Also the algorithm used to be really good on YouTube but now it's trash, like how you get 1,000 views on shorts but get none on long forms like seriously? It should just be the same. On maps I had issues like reviews getting filtered to the public (meaning only I can see them, logged in), even if they follow policies, sometimes after editing the review multiple times, it never gets published. Plus there's also a million bunch other issues on maps too. Their notes app, Keep, also has this very overrated issue where notes keep pasting text from text I got rid of when I press 'shift'. On help I experienced an issue where they couldn't find a permanently deleted file in photos, but I swear there was a photo that was permanently deleted not long ago. But Google, you have this same issue with deleted google accounts from 1 day ago! Speaking of deleted accounts, continuing onto the YouTube issues, sometimes when you go and delete a YouTube channel, and you create another channel with the same handle, it will say 'This handle isn't available'. Also their AI is also very overrated too. It is not as smart as ChatGPT and is very simple and robotic.

Tbh after years of using Google, I really hope there's a better system of Google avoiding these issues. If there was, I would be like: 'Why doesn't this platform have the same popularity as Google?'. There's not just these issues about Google but there's many other issues too.

Frustration

Dear Google. When you produce updates to your email adding security, please be more specific, don't be wishy washy.
Don't use "It" or "this", THINK.

please put pass number in. (What pass number, into where Phone or laptop). Have been frustrated trying to understand what you mean, and i am a reasonably knowledgeable user. How do lesser people understand your vague messages?

Sandridge window blinds

We have just had new vertical window blinds fitted by Sandridge Blinds Hull. My wife and I visited the showroom were there was a wide variety of choices. We ordered the blinds which were then fitted by Lewis. Lewis arrived on time and fitted the blinds to perfection. We would recommend Sandridge to anyone.

Compact Car Centre- Court ruled in my favour

I purchased an Audi S3 2016 from Compact Car Centre Rowley Regis in November 2025 for £16,790. It developed a fault within two hours and was rejected two days later. The dealer denied the fault, forcing me into a stressful County Court legal battle.
The court has now ruled in my favour, confirming the car was sold faulty, and ordered a full refund and costs.

Slide of hand

Slide of hand. It may not be considered a scam but its close enough for me. They do not provide what you sign up for, the miss guide you they provide no real information other than what is public general knowledge. Then they try to charge you more for what you paid for in the first place. Stay away from this company.

Had to share this from one of our customers in Wildwood NJ Thank you Donna
I just want to give a shout out to one of your employees, "Jorell". What a pleasant man! I've talked to him twice, here in Wildwood (Heather St.). You have a STARR employee for sure. We joked a little about his job, as you can imagine. He definitely is the kind of man that the world needs more of. Anytime I see him I will make it a point to talk with him. His family, you his employer, and friends like me should be proud to be in his circle. Good job for employing such an awesome gentleman.
