GunBroker only protects sellers. NOT buyers!
I had a seller refuse to complete on a penny start auction that I won. The seller then claimed I refused to pay AFTER I had provided GB with all the interactions with the seller. GB then suspended my account. GB subsequently restarted my account and declared case closed. Meanwhile the seller has relisted the item twice more with no consequences.

Order not fulfilled
I was promised and bought a certain gun by Ceasefire Liquidators and they did not deliver the gun as advertised. I contacted them and we still do not have a suitable resolution from them and you have not responded to my email. Terrible experience from them and Gunbroker. Negative reviews incoming. Gunbroker introduced me to the fine people at “Lock, Stock, & Barrel, from whom I have successfully won three (3) shotguns. I have nothing but great things to say about the ease of using the Gunbroker platform. They acknowledge your bid & inform you if you have been outbid for a particular weapon. They immediately inform you if you have won an auction so that you can start the payment process. All in all, a most satisfying way to go.

GunBroker.com sellers avoid California orders. Using an FFL ensures compliance; Use ShipMyGun etc. There are over 3.2 million gun owners. California buys 1 million firearms annually. 3rd in the country.
