Bought a dash cam and had it fitted by…

Bought a dash cam and had it fitted by them on Friday. Had a query about using it and phoned the store, put straight through to a call centre in Capetown! They told me I should take my query up with the branch in person. As I am about 40 miles away this was not possible they then agreed to get the branch to ring me within 1/2 hour, still waiting 8 hours later. I rang again @3pmish and got through to customer service after I gave their satisfaction survey a score of one, told there was no one in Technical to speak to me, but a manager would ring still waiting. Kept being told it would be best for me to go to the store, unbelievable. Good service at store but no customer care or service

Booked major service and MOT early as a…

Booked major service and MOT early as a club member. First booking cancelled at 7:45 am on the day it was due. Given a new booking a month later which again was cancelled the day before due. Third time lucky and passed MOT. Asked for service checklist and told it will be emailed. Just got the bill which stated it had the oil changed. Used online chat and told garage would contact me. Not a response, so used chat again to get complaints department to respond. Noting there is a list of over 70 items checked during the service procedure. I only have a piece of paper with the cost of service and the oil was changed. I contacted the chat help with my concern asking the complaints department to phone me to resolve. I got an email to say the local garage would contact me last week.NO CONTACT . After 7 days I used chat to say issues not resolved and I needed to speak to complaints department today. I get an email to say they have the check list. But nothing was attached.When I reply to email 5 minutes later I get an auto response "Case Resolved" I don't think they carried out the full job. Having paid Halfords £350 for a service I would have expected a more empathetic response from customer service to the poor service I received from the Kettering service staff. Best avoid this outfit. Update on a further problem
Dear Sir,
Its been seven days and no contact.
Yesterday I had a puncture fixed (unrelated to this issue) The mechanic said when I asked him he could see no evidence that the bleed nut
on O/S/R had been moved recently and would find it hard to believe the system has been properly bled if brake fluid had been replaced.
He then looked a the N/S/F without removing the wheel and suggested there was the same problem, which is concerning.
The last time my wife had her car MOT'd (Central Autopoint) They supplied a video on line for 30 days of the MOT and work carried out
Could you please supply your video/cctv of the vehicle passing through your workshop please? As this begs the question was anything else missed?

Halfords unhelpful

I wanted a rear puncture repair on an ebike. I was told that Halfords do not repair punctures with my type of motor. I didn't want my motor repaired just the puncture in the tyre.
Staff member was not pleasant.

I struggle to give one star

I struggle to give one star. I purchased the 32litre compressor cool box to use as a fridge in my camper as the company says this product can be used as a fridge. In my honest opinion Halfords need to throw this product in the skip, I set the temperature on mine to 5degrees which is what a fridge should be set at and it struggles to get down to 10 degrees to get it to where it should be I have to set it to minus 3 degrees which is below freezing but it don't freeze but barely gets down to 2 degrees, the salesman told me that the four walls inside the box all chill and they don't it's only one wall chills. I think I need to shop around and buy a product that does what it says. Do not waste your money on this but shop around. I've had to throw food and milk away as it's gone off, not very cost effective.

Went to the dundalk shop to purchase a bike wanted to buy 1 that was there but the chap went off to see if I could didn't bother to come started to fix bike the older guy wen I asked him he said in dealing with customer which he was but I was the next in line anyway went to smyths wat a difference bought bike there nice chap with manners not attitude

Fantastic service

We visited Halfords Ferndown today and it was such a fast, amazing experience! I’m always full of dread when the car needs fixing. But as soon as I walked in Dillon was so friendly and professional. Within a minute Adam came out to fix our headlight and pump the tyres up. What exceptional service from both of these wonderful people! Thank you so much ! We’re very, very happy !

Awful experience spent the best part of 2k on a new e-bike, to be assembled at the store, their technicians didn’t even assemble the bike correctly and it won’t stay in gear awful service awful company will never recommend my blood is boiling I cannot believe how poor their service has been!

Brixton stor

Brixton stor - Took me 4 trips to rescue my cycle after much delays. Also long waits. And they didn’t fix the bike rack and tried to gaslight by saying it cannot be attached due to the design. Rubbing salt on wound! Never again. Brixton Bikes just down the road

Halfords Enfield (Order Number: 2234765087)


Purchased a bike for my kid from Halfords Enfield store (Order Number: 2234765087), noticed the brakes weren’t adjusted correctly after first use, so had to take it back in to store the following week, I also logged a complaint (Case reference: 00788907).
Upon 2nd use of the bike, i noticed that the tyres weren’t straight this time round and was getting caught with the brakes again, making very noticeable loud noise, so had to take it back again for the 2nd time. Staff said this is normal for a bike of that sort, due to the plastic frame apparently. Nonetheless, asked for a refund. A waste of time and energy, and why is Halfords even selling products with known defects? such as with this particular bike. Also the store didn’t agree to refund me for the assembling cost, which although it was £10 only, I expected from such reputable brand to be more considerate and understanding of the poor experience i’ve endured with this purchase, and have the decency to empathise and not shamelessly charge me instead, and to compensate for my distress and inconvenience.

Fitting car tyres at home/work great idea.As long as you in most of the day (and we are retired)we had two VW Polo tyres fitted in less than 45 mins...Tom was excellent and polite.We cancelled our Costco appointment they wanted a week to get the tyres and two weeks till next appointment?

Had an issue with a mobile service

Had an issue with a mobile service, booked it, the mechanic was nice enough but couldnt do the service as “ground was uneven” didnt realise this was an issue, 20 mins later I got a £40 call out charge, called customer service and they advised me someone would contact me in 48 hours…nothing and its been almost 2 weeks

Great Products, Poor Customer Service

I recently spent over £800 at Halfords on a roof box and fitting kit and was left extremely disappointed by the customer service.

Before collecting my order, Halfords launched a discount on the exact products I had purchased. When I contacted customer service and asked whether they could simply refund the difference, I was told they could not and that my only option was to cancel the order and purchase everything again. This created unnecessary inconvenience and demonstrated a complete lack of flexibility towards a customer who had already committed to a substantial purchase.

The experience became even worse when I went to collect the roof box. When collecting the fitting kit earlier, I specifically asked a member of staff whether someone would be able to assist me in lifting the roof box to my car. I was assured this would not be a problem.

However, when I returned to collect the roof box, I was told by another member of staff that nobody could help because assistance was considered a chargeable fitting service. To be clear, I was not asking for the roof box to be fitted, mounted, adjusted, or installed. I simply needed a second person to help lift a large, bulky item from the store to my vehicle.

I found this response astonishing. After spending more than £800 in-store, being refused a simple helping hand felt like poor customer service and a complete lack of common courtesy. Fortunately, after some discussion, another member of staff stepped in and agreed to help.

The contrast between the helpful attitude of one employee and the rigid approach of the store policy was striking. Businesses are, of course, entitled to charge for specialist fitting services, but refusing basic assistance with lifting a product that has already been purchased is difficult to justify and leaves customers feeling valued only up until the point payment is taken.

This experience has significantly lowered my opinion of Halfords. Good customer service costs very little, and in this case a simple act of assistance would have made all the difference.

I booked an aircon appointment

I booked an aircon appointment, but they scheduled me in the wrong branch/garage, even though that location doesn’t handle aircon-related services. When I called to ask for help, the call center staff didn’t seem to know which branch should manage aircon problems, and they couldn’t provide a correct resolution.

As a result, I wasted my time waiting early in the morning at the incorrect location, with no real support to fix the mistake. There was no guidance, no accountability, and no way to get my request handled properly.

I strongly do not recommend this service. They need better staff training, clearer branch responsibility, and accurate booking before sending customers to the wrong place.

Air conditioning diagnostics

Booked my car into Worcester (Blackpole) for an air conditioning diagnostic appointment.

I lifted my bonet and switched in the engine, was asked to turn on the engine and aircon as the Halfords colleagues plugged in a pipe to the engine. 20 seconds later he said 'Yeah your air conditioning isn't working, nothing registered, you'll have to book into a garage to get it tested/fixed'. And that was it.

Utterly pointless. Zero service or further information.

Like offering a service on the website of 'Engine diagnostics' then saying Yeah your engine isnt working as it should, don't know why, but go to a garage.

Waste of time.

Nathaniel at Halfords Brixton is a 5 🌟 customer service employee

This is a review for Halfords Brixton. All 3 of the team who were present at the cycle till on 17 June 2026, around 17.15 to 17.30 (information for management 😀) were superb but Nathaniel really stood out. He was helpful, quick, efficient, kind and informative. Everything you want when your bike seat has broken (while cycling, bit of a shock 😆 bike NOT from Halfords and that would be a whole other review) and you are in a rush because life 🙄😫.
People like Nathaniel really deserve not only praise in a review but a proper pathway to support him in whatever he wants to do in your company. Trainer, Manager, QA etc he could definitely do any of it.
