The cafe is very overpriced. No wonder it's full of rich pensioners that don't have mortgages. Won't be going there again!

Staff member on the cake counter

We go every month, and the lady serving the cakes. Has a miserable face each time. Very unfriendly attitude ,no smile, and aggressive tone. We keep hoping she not working. But she there, needs to be a lot better with the public service

Don't eat at Haskins.

Went into Haskins for lunch yesterday and was very dissapointed. At £18+ I would have expected a palatable hot meal.By the time I queued 22 minutes to pay for it is was stone cold. On top of that, the sprouts, cauliflower, and peas were undercooked and hard. I feel that they need to employ a chef who knows how to cook vegetables, as the one at the time of my visit did not. I could have made a better job. I will not eat there again. I find food and drink prices a rip of to say the least (£4 for a small coffee) and will not eat there again.

Visited the restaurant today at the garden centre in Gaters hill near Southampton. Although we knew it would be busy and made allowances for the queues, we were disappointed . The cheese and ham toasties had no ham included which we only realised once we started to eat them. Also the amount of time taken to queue for drinks afterwards meant the food got cold. Why don’t they serve coffee only at one section as there’s so many types to choose from these days, and tea and soft drinks only from another stand? This would cut down on a lot of queuing for tea only or soft drinks. I doubt we will have food again at this store.

Beware of Nova

we purchased an expensive outdoor table from Haskins (maker Nova) which became faulty with weave spliting, Haskins have a 5 year warranty, Nova a 7 year warranty, it was agreed that it would be exchange and after waiting six weeks for it to arrive, the table had no support under the table top, Nova maintained that this is how they make them now, and although Haskins Customer Service were very pleasant we were told that we had to take the new table as there was no alternative, Lesson Do not not buy from Haskins and beware of Nova products as I feel we have been very let down by all concerned, and despite reassurance that the old table and packaging would be take we would have been left with it if we had not be persistant Very Disappointing

Rude staff.

Had to return a tracksuit as one of the legs were 2 inches longer than the other. Firstly staff were busy chatting and didn’t want to serve me, then when I said I needed a refund, there was no ‘I’m sorry about that’, she never spoke to me once, just as I walked away, she sarcastically said ‘thank you very much’. Such rude staff and not for the first time. Won’t be returning.

Expensive, don’t have the carrot cake

We went to Haskins in Ferring Thursday afternoon. We had 2 cups of coffees and 2 pieces of a normal size cake and got 10p change out of a £20 note. The service and the coffee were ok but my carrot cake was sickly sweet so I had to leave it. Won’t be going back there in a hurry.

Ridiculous price for the tiniest scoop of ice cream!

I bought a one scoop of ice cream in a cup from Haskins cafe in Ferndown. I was so shocked at the size of the scoop of ice cream. It was tiny! Like about an inch an a half in diameter and they charged me almost £4. I regret that I accepted it and paid for it! What a waste of money! Haskins you can do better. I have travelled all over the U.K. and the world and nowhere have I ever paid so much for such a tiny scoop of ice cream!

Haskins very poor service

Purchased a weber from Haskins , certainly not cheap but we (were) fans of weber and there was a £50 rebate on offer.

3 months later still waiting for the refund , this despite numerous e mails to Weber .In desperation asked Haskins for their assistance , no real help from Haskins and despite my request for help in compiling information for a Small Claims summons they could not supply the required information in view of data protection ?

Gone downhill

My daughter went to the resturant today in haskins West End. Unfortunately we left extremely disappointed & if i had the time i would have taken it bk n got a refund. What we received was a seriously overpriced half cup of what they call their " caramel crunch milkshake" This was our treat & at nearly £10.00 Its utterly disgusting. They should be ashamed themselves as its nothing short of daylight robbery. They have seriously gone downhill & will never go there again for food/drinks ect.

What's going on with cafe?

We love Haskins, it's an amazing place. We visit almost once a month, but today the cafe was so disappointing. We were looking for just a toastie, but was told the counter was closed and would be about half hour, bearing in mind this was 11.20. So my husband opted for a breakfast. When asking for the cover to keep food warm, was told they don't do them anymore. Ridiculous, because by the time you have got through the queue for coffee, your food is cold. Come on Haskins, get on top of this or you will lose custom. Very dissatisfied today.

Lunch

Visited Haskins Garden Centre(North of Petersfield ) with friends for a look around and lunch.
Variety of goods available is good and very varied though quite expensive.
Very disappointed in cafe as there was no variation from what is on the menu.
I wanted a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich, but had to have a thick piece of ham in it as this is how they are prepared in the kitchen.
The two staff members serving were disinterested and said that the ham could not be taken out.
As a result I did not enjoy my meal as I just wanted a conventional sandwich but could not have it.
Very disappointed

Haskins Garden Centre Ferndown

We visited Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown as a family on Sunday 1st December.

The range of Christmas related stock is impressive and probably the biggest range I've seen anywhere.

If you are of an age where you need to sit down every now and again, then you will find it tiring as there is nowhere in the shopping areas to rest. My wife asked a staff member if there was anywhere to sit, and was told that there was only the restaurant - adding, and I quote, "you could buy a coffee to sit in there". Which we did.

One aspect of the restaurant which left us a bit uncomfortable, was the cakes self selection area. Two young adults in front of us obviously had bad colds and kept leaning in to look closely at the cakes displayed in an open fronted display cabinet.

I recently visited Haskins Garden…

I recently visited Haskins Garden Center and decided to try their wild mushroom pizza. unfortunately , I was very disappointed. The pizza was undercooked-the base was white and not properly baked, and the mushrooms were chewy and not cooked well. For £14.50 I expected much better quality. While the garden center has a nice atmosphere, the food didn't meet my expectations. I hope they can improve this in the future.

When it was roundstone garden centre it was far more reasonably priced. It was also a pleasure to look around at all the beautiful Christmas things. I used to pay a higher price there for my tree decorations but they were beautiful and worth it. The price of these things now is ridiculous to the point it’s putting a lot of people off. What a shame.

Long delays at the tills

We visited there today at 1.00pm and decided to have lunch before looking for plants. We chose some hot dishes but the long queues combined with overworked staff at the tills resulted in the meals being cold and virtually indigestible by the time we reached our table. Management needs to get a grip of the problem. We were not alone in finding our meals spoiled. Others in the queue around us had similar complaints
