The cafe is very overpriced. No wonder it's full of rich pensioners that don't have mortgages. Won't be going there again!

We had an afternoon tea on 25/10
We had an afternoon tea on 25/10. It was I think the first day following the changes to the content of the afternoon tea. The service was very good, the sandwiches lovely and the scones + cream and jam excellent. We cannot say the same for the cakes. They were tasteless and bland and in fact my wife did it feel quite right after eating one. In fact we threw the remaining cakes away, hence the 3 stars.

Disappointed had Sunday lunch 22/9/24 14.30 had to wait as my meal was not on the stock control on the till. Which didn’t take long but our food was cold and not up to the normal standard
Went to Haskins on Saturday
Went to Haskins on Saturday. Disappointing that so much of the store was already partitioned off getting ready for Christmas. Three months ahead yet.
Also disappointed there was nowhere to sit when walking round looking at plants. I have problems walking at the moment and needed to sit down
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Purchased a dwarf cherry 3 years ago. Tree is now almost 15 ft high and 6 ft in diameter. Took original label back to Roundstone store but they weren’t interested stating it was a healthy tree. Wouldn’t accept that although healthy it wasn’t what I had bought (dwarf)
Very unpleasant manager/ supervisor. Showed her photos at time of planting and now up to first floor window. Suggested I should have dug it up and returned it sooner! Our local garden centre but won’t be returning.
Rough treatment and poor service
I purchased 2 trays of plants at £12.99 each. The girl at the checkout was rough with the plants and broke a flower and stem off. When I asked if she could be gentle she just threw the broken bits in the bin and carried on. When I got home the second tray had a completely broken plant in the middle which had been hidden by the other plants, crafty. It is about an inch of stem which won’t grow to be mature. All in all I was very upset and decided to email Haskins. The reply was a simple “ sorry, we will tell the checkout assistant and look forward to seeing you shopping at Haskins again” This is a very poor response from a company I thought looked after their customers!! and no I will not be shopping there again!
Not dog friendly
The only criticism of Haskins Garden Centre you have to eat outside with a dog. Not so pleasant when it is raining. Indoors near the door is a perfect spot away from the food preparation area.
We visit the one in Crawley
We visit the one in Crawley, always feels special, staff are excellent especially in the restaurant and on the tills. Really lovely experience. Products are a bit pricey but otherwise well worth a visit
Round stone awful
Haskins roundstobe, What awful food. Where has the salad bar gone ? Pizza wasn’t open, no roast, no lasagne, Had to choose a pie, meat was tougn, pastry gritty even inside it was drying out. Pot of gravy had no flavour. Couldn’t eat it. Chips were half a portion, cost £14. Scone was fridge cold and crumbled. The table of 4 next to us all had different cakes which also just crumbled away so they left too. Used to be great, now is terrible. Don’t waste your money, go to a nearby pun instead.
Very disappointed - poor quality of food
Very disappointed in very poor quality of food today (lunch time 17 Jan 24). Had a jacket potato with cheese and my friend had the same. Well below Haskin’s standards. We were going to complain to the manager but he was busy dealing with another customer who was complaining about her food.
