No Communication? *UPDATE*

Shortly after posting this I was sent an email. The customer service seems great! It seems that some of the emails I sent did not go through. The person who emailed me was very nice and polite and told me the status of the costume! I look forward to seeing the costume in the near future and will update this review again when I see it!

Great quality, fast shipping!

I ordered a cosplay from here for a convention I am going to attend. I hesitated for a while after seeing some negative feedback about this company but decided to go ahead and order well in advance just incase of long shipping etc. The website has a very large selection of cosplays and costumes choose from, which is always a good thing.

During ordering, there are options to add your measurements so you can make sure the cosplay will fit, So no need to worry about bad sizing (As long as you do measure correctly)

After ordering I Was very surprised about how fast shipping was. It only took around a week or less to get to where I live in England. (I chose DHL at the checkout but there also a lot of other options) The costume was very well packaged, no complaints there!
The quality of the cosplay was amazing, the best I have bought. I was not expecting as good quality, Its pretty safe to say the costume will last quite a long time. The sizings were a little big for me but that was due to myself and not the company. I will be buying my future cosplays from here without a doubt.

The only bad thing i have to say is that some of the accessories that came with the costume were not like the ones advertised and I will have to add some clips or better ribbon or elastic to make the hat wearable but that isn't really a big problem for me. You can easily find things to replace them or you can easily make them yourself if your good at that sort of thing.

Overall Great company! I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Just make sure you have the correct sizing and make sure you use the size charts and you should be fine!

Resolved my issue promptly

After finally speaking with those who work at HelloCosplay they resolved my issue with the order. It was not there doing nor mine. The mail carrier was kind enough to lose my Light Blue White Mixed Cosplay Long Wig. Thank you those at HelloCosplay for correcting this issue and processing a return.

Stole my money? Merely miscommunication

I bought a Jude Mathis costume from them, which I received at the beginning of December, but it did not turn out anything like the pictures on their website. They guaranteed on their website if I can prove it's their fault. Over the months, I demanded a refund or a new costume. I spent time taking pictures and pointing out everything that was wrong with the costume. In reply, they offered to fix the costume or discount on the next costume.

At the beginning of January, I shipped the costume back to get it fixed, it was definitely not cheap to send it back. To make sure the costume is fixed correctly, I asked them to send me a photo first before sending the costume back and they replied:

"Sorry but we are afraid we have no idea to do that.
We will try our best to fix it."

At the beginning of March I e-mailed them asking their progress on the costume and they replied:

"Sorry but we have a big holiday during the time, we are fix the costume now, plz do not worry about it."

At the end of March, I e-mailed them that it's urgent to send back the costume soon since Sakura Con was coming up mid April and that's where I intended to use the costume in the first place. After that e-mail, I have not got a single reply from them and have not had any signs of the costume coming back.

It's now May and I still haven't received a reply and haven't received the costume back yet. Now that Sakura Con is over, I don't even need the costume anymore, I just want my money back. I e-mailed them to just give a refund and they just ignored me. Did they just walked away with my money and the costume?

-Update-

After writing this review, waiting for it to be un-suspended after Hellocosplay flagged it, and waiting for their response to my review, they finally gave me a refund of $159 back. They also offered me a discount on my next purchase. Although it could of been a much better experience if they communicated with me more frequently, in the end they took responsibility and did what they can.

Super quality - love it.

The product I received was very high quality. I ordered it a bit too big because I was afraid of a wrong size, and it was, in fact, a bit too big - though it did not matter, I could change it. So I was very pleased with their sizes. The customer service was also good - I said that I needed the costume soon, and they send it to me earlier than expected.

From the photo we can clearly see your waist CAN NOT be 30.5 inches, it CAN NOT be 22CM smaller than your chest.
That is why your costume did not fit you,you provided a WRONG waist measurement.So the shorts can not be worn higher.
We made the costume according to the measurements you provided us,when you said to us you thought it did not fit well,we replied you very fast (How could you say we"No Customer Service",we responded you so quickly,sigh & cry~~~!).We glad to help you revise the costume or provided you some discount then with the discounted funds you could revise the costume by a local tailor.
But as it is not our mistake,we can not made a new costume free for you.It is unfair to us,unfair to our tailors who worked hard on your costume,or unfair to other customers who provided us correct measurements.Thank you very much for your understanding.

Amazing quality!

I ordered one of their Doctor Who cosplay items a 'Sixth Doctor Frock Coat' after wanting the coat for so long and never seeing a satisfying version on the web. I was nervous as I could find no reviews of the coat itself so I didn't know if it would match the pictures. Needless to say it matched them perfectly! This is clearly a reputable website in that it does not steal photos.
Their FAQ lists the making time as being 10-20 days for complex costumes. If you have seen any photos of the coat you'll know it's definitely a very complex coat. The only criticism I would have here is that it does not list these as being working days: Mon-Fri. Although I suppose I should have assumed that. The product was dispatched on the 20th Working Day however so I have no complaints there, and the fast shipping saw it with me two days later!
I would whole-heartily recommend this website to anyone!

I would give no stars if I could!

I ordered an 11th Doctor dress from hellocosplay in November for a sci-fi party my friend was having. The product came very quickly, but was dreadfully made. I complained, and they sent a very genetic reply telling me that they were sorry and offered me a 10% discount to shut me up. I was very offended. After MONTHS of arguing with them, I sent back the dress at MY OWN expense, only to have them turn around and tell me that 'the perfume was too heavy'! I never sprayed anything on this dress! Now they are trying to get me to admit to something I didn't do. I have now spent close to $200 on this dress and have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Hellocosplay are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are money hungry pigs who do not deserve to be in business. They are a SCAM! DO NOT BUY!!

Precies wat ik zocht / Just what I was looking for

Ik heb via hellocosplay de Lord of the Rings Arwen blue dress besteld. Ik heb lang getwijfeld, voornamelijk door de uiteenlopende beoordelingen op het internet, en ik ben zo blij dat ik toch voor deze site gekozen heb. Eerst en vooral kreeg ik na mijn bestelling een mail dat ik, als ik mijn kostuum vóór Halloween nodig had, ik een mailtje diende te sturen, en dan zouden ze mijn bestelling naar voren schuiven aangezien Halloween de drukste tijd van het jaar is voor hen. Ik heb gemaild dat ik mijn kostuum voor 4 oktober nodig had en kreeg vrijwel meteen antwoord dat mijn bestelling voorrang zou krijgen. 27 augustus bestelling geplaatst, 10 september had ik mijn jurk, op maat gemaakt en verscheept van China naar België. De maten kloppen perfect, de stof voelt niet goedkoop aan, en alles is precies zoals op de foto. Voor deze prijs had ik me geen beter kostuum kunnen wensen. Een aanrader.

I ordered the Lord of the Rings Arwen blue dress via hellocosplay. I hesitated for a while because of the online reviews, but now I'm so happy that I used this site. First of all, after placing my order I got an e-mail from customer service saying that Halloween is the busiest time of the year for them, and if I needed my order before the end of October I should just write them back and they'd give my order priority. I wrote back that I needed my costume by October 4th and got a reply almost immediately that they'd speed up my order and get it to me in time. I placed that order on August 27 and the package arrived on September 10th. Two weeks for a dress that was customized to my measurements, and to ship it from China to Belgium. The sizing is perfect, the fabrics don't look or feel cheap, and the dress looks exactly like the pictures. For this money I couldn't wish for a better dress. Highly recommanded.

Awesome, but a little weird xD

I'm a girl from Sweden who bought a KAITO Shion Vocaloid1-cosplay, which included scarf, coat and pants. It was awesome~ It looked great on me, a little too large but that's my mother's fault xD
It was just one weird thing... the coat was veeeerryyy long. The zipper on KAITO's coat is meant to end around his bellybutton, but mine ended around my knees. O.O
I don't think I wrote it should be THAT long. 0.0
And another weird thing is that my mother, aunt and I sent our order, but then didn't get any confirmation... my aunt had to send a mail some days later until they replied. =P
But in all other ways it was great!~ ^^
It was cool and nice, it fits kinda good and I am so happy to finally get to cosplay the best Vocaloid ever made. :3
It was not expensive, even if it was absolutely worth every single piece of money. And it came really fast, even though I live in Sweden, it took around a week since the mail we sent and I think that's very fast x3
I'll buy my next cosplay costume at Hellocosplay too >u<
Next time, it's gonna be a RUSSIA cosplay! ^J^

Very pleased, I'll probably buy again!

I bought the Persona 4 Male school uniform, and I'm really happy with it. It fits absolutely perfectly, it looks great and is nice quality.
I have two minor problems, they aren't very important but I feel I should mention them.
It took three weeks for the costume to be made. I understand that it was custom ordered and tailor made, but I've used other companies that can finish the project in days.
This one might just be because I live in a very remote place in Canada, but there were extra fees to be paid for shipping. I paid HelloCosplay the 150$ they asked, but later I was contacted by Loomis Express (the shipping company) and was asked for another 30$. I wasn't intending on paying more than 150$, but I suppose it couldn't be helped.
The one suggestion I have for HelloCosplay-If you could put a note of some sort on your website saying that using Loomis costs another 30$, it would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, I am happy with the final result, keep up the good work!

*I* was happy with it

I purchased the full Black Rock Shooter costume...$150. Was it worth it? Almost certainly not. I probably could've found most of the stuff for much cheaper at the nearest thrift store. But I was still happy with it. It shipped on time, customer service was pretty decent, and even though the material was far from high quality, the costume is still holding up even now. Not the best, but not the worst. They didn't lie about any fees or anything, they didn't hijack my account, and considering how quickly the costume came, all in all, I was (and still am) thrilled. It looked EXACTLY like the picture, and while I had to do a little touching up here and there, it was still MUCH easier, though more expensive, than building the costume myself. I am very pleased with them.

clearly dont pay attention

i ordered there devil may cry 3 dante costume it arrived in about a week which i was realy happy about but althogh i gave them my correct mesurments they sent me a costume which was a small im guessing because it is to small for me but fits a 5`4 8 stone girl fine and the gun holster is done up with popers but they put the same ones on each side so it wont do up but all in all they clearly didnt look at my mesurments taken by someone who has made cloths so beware

We have checked with our factory, from the item link you see DMC3 dante coat is open in front, the zipper is only decorative, can not be real zip up, that is the coat should be, not mistake.

So dear friend, you see, what a correct costume we made, if you wear it and zip up, you will not be dante, not the hero you want to cosplay, right?

I Love Them!

You should definitely check them out! I've bought from them twice and they blew me away both times. I had bought an Organization 13 Trench Coat for my boyfriend as an anniversary present and it was amazing! Recently I bought a Victorian Gothic Satin Brocaded Frill Dress Gown to wear at my prom. It fit like a dream. I love buying from them! They are fast, reliable, and inexpensive for such high quality clothing!

Not quality, but a great base product for costumes.

I ordered a gothic ball gown with petticoat. I had excellent communication, although a little spotty considering the language barrier. I gave precise measurements and instructions. I had a large portion of the dress changed to a different color, so the person I was emailing with wanted to double check. Fit was great when I got it in the mail.

It's cheap materials and cheap labor. The quality is NOT built to last at all. Reinforcements are needed if you want to wear it more than a few times. Hoop skirt was of poor quality, the seems holding in the wire were falling apart. Cheap buttons and cheap looking "lace" around the collar and arm cuffs. Velcro and invisible zipper in the back. Corset loops already ripping.

Choosing a color out of the color blocks was a little nerve wracking. I picked #32 and it came out more like #106. I'm happy with the color though. I knew it was going to come out lighter.

It took about a month for them to make my dress. I contacted them via email and quickly got a response saying it would be done shortly. Two days later it was at my doorstep. When I originally paid for my product I was unsure which shipping to use. I paid $5 extra to have it shipped via UPS when it got to the states. It was shipped DHL the whole way. I emailed the same person who had excellent contact with me the entire time about receiving a refund and I got no response.

I'm leaving my order number because I see they are on point in responding to reviews.

Overall, I'm super happy with my purchase and got exactly what I expected. If I ever need anything extravagant like another ball gown again, I will order from here.

untrustworthy

I ordered two wigs from HelloCosplay. One was perfect, the other a good two inches shorter and the style slightly different. I looked on their website and found the slightly different one with a similar name( which BTW is labeled shorter). Acceptable mix up right? Most companies would either send out the correct product or atleast refund. Not HelloCosplay! After sending pictures, measurements, etc...I'm told I have the right wig, and I'm measuring wrong. Which is funny because the other wig I ordered measures fine, and I'm measuring the same way. I am also told they have a number system the follow, although there is no number on the wig or the invoice. After much back and forth, they offer me 15% off the wig I did not order. Which I cannot use. Why would anyone want 15% off something they did not order? Or I could pay to return the wig to China, which would cost about $20. Either way I'm stuck paying for their mistake. Completely unreasonable, I would never trust them with an order again

First off, I did not receive any refund from Hellocosplay. I had to file a complaint with Paypal which they refused to respond to. I had to wait for it to expire, then Paypal credited me the cost of the wig and the $5 extra I spent on shipping. Thank You Paypal!

Second, I ordered 2 wigs, measured them the same way. One measured correctly, the other did not. How do they check and check that through a photo? Both wigs were in unmarked bags, invoice said "wig". That's it! What were they checking and checking?

Third, I find it interesting HelloCosplay would bring up "the principle" of it, as if them making a mistake is so incredibly inconceivable to them. As if it's totally logical for me to shell out another $10 on top of the $30 I already paid for a wig I did not order, or how about 10% off something you can't use. That is what you are dealing with when you order from them.

If it is our mistake, surely we should be responsible for it, exchange or refund or send a new wig to you, any way OK! But dear, it is not our mistake, we have checked and checked again, explained and explained again.
We refunded you 15% of the payment because you are unhappy and our manager said you are my respectable customer, we need to try our best to make you satisfied. But that don;t mean we can do any thing more for you.
It is not for money, but for our principle. Maybe we refund you 30USD then you keep the wig you will be happy, and for us it is only 30USD lost, but it is not the way we should take, we hope you understand. If you still don;t take our explanation, we only can say again, you send the wig back, then we refund you, OK?
